Bouquet Restaurant and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Everything was wonderful. We did the tasting menu. One of the guests in our party is vegan and they even prepared a fantastic vegan tasting for them. Our server, Tara, was very kind and attentive. We were impressed with the bourbon selection, which Austin was great at walking us through and helping us make a selection. Can't wait to go back!
Bouquet was a favorite of ours for quite some time after it opened. Because of the new choices to explore in Cincinnati, we hadn't been to Bouquet in a couple of years. Unfortunately, it seems that they're coasting on past successes.
The server, who did a decent job, informed us that the menu had been "totally revamped" several times since we were there last. Bouquet, previously, was known for both elegant preparations and interesting flavors. Both seem to have changed. I ordered the "Off the Hook" fish, which was mahi. My filet was extremely dry, as if it had sat under a heat lamp for a long time. My wife's "seafood saute" was a glorified version of shrimp fried rice. Both dishes were *very* salty -- in addition to lacking any of the nuanced flavors we were used to.
Truth be told, we should have sent both entrees back -- and I take responsibility for not doing so. Just the same, the fact that *both* dishes were so oversalted made me think not much would have been different. We chose to go elsewhere for dessert and a nightcap.
Sadly, we probably will not return -- as they seem to be chasing a different sort of palate than ours.
Our service was unbelievable! We booked this for a bachelorette dinner and started with 12 ppl and it quickly every day changed because people could not make it for whatever reason. By the time we got to the restaurant we only had a group of 5. Having worked in the industry I know how much that stinks when you’re expecting a large group and it doesn’t end up that way, but they were so accommodating and just minimized our table and our waiter was great! We had a good time.
We went for 'burger night' so did not try other entrees, although many sounded interesting and very different. Burger was good, but one cooked medium results in a luke-warm to cool sandwich. If ordered again, I might do medium-well as I prefer my food warmer. Enjoyed the olives as an appetizer and the hint of orange and ginger was a plus. Excellent greens salad with a bright, refreshing vinaigrette. Service was very attentive but not intrusive.
This is one of our favorite spots in Covington. I have always enjoyed great service. The wine on tap is great. The menu offers many fresh original dishes.
I always recommend Bouquet to my customers looking for new dining spots in the greater Cincinnati /Northern Kentucky area.
It was great, I love the place, this is my third time there. Every time I leave with a great experience, because parking is little bit confusing in that area one of Bouquet staff accompanied me outside to make sure that I parked at the right spot. Great place for any occasion. Thank you for your fine details.
Located on Covington's Mainstrasse providing romantic dining experience but with a business casual comfort. Pretty extensive Bourbon/Rye list of over 100 whiskies ranging from rank and file $8 pours up to $68 for a Elijah Craig 23 year-old (no pappy, but had Weller 12 for $28 and Elmer T Lee for $20 pours). Easy walk from Holiday Inn Express or other riverfront hotels during day, but probably would take an uber or cab back after dark. The staff was wonderful and the food excellent. Entrees ran around $30. Definitely would return.
Highly recommend the motherboard! It was delicious and fun coming up with different combinations with the ingredients! They can make any dish vegan or vegetarian and will sub the meat for tofu! They were super busy and it took awhile for our tasting menu items to come out but our server, Matt, was wonderful at communicating that to us and making sure we were fine with it.
An absolutely stellar dining experience! The staff went overboard to be helpful and accommodating from the moment we entered the door (my wife just had foot surgery and cannot handle steps). They worked around that with ingenuity and cheerful graciousness, found a perfect spot to accommodate her knee scooter, and proceeded to provide us an outstanding dining experience from beginning to end.
My wife chose the September Chef's Tasting Menu, and it was superb - pasta course of house-made spaghetti was to die for. I selected the Kentucky Strip Steak - it was right up there among the best ever. It was too big to finish off (our waiter correctly predicted that, along with its excellence). We brought it home with us, and when cut into strips and gently reheated, it had not lost a thing as accompaniment for morning eggs!
Truly a serendipitous choice for a delightful evening of dining. And to top it all off, the city started a fireworks extravaganza just as we were leaving. Perfect capstone!
Saw this on Open Table and noticed it was near my hotel. I thought I'd give it a try. Have to say, I was impressed with the food (had the seafood special, salmon, which was delicious), along with the house salad (simple greens). Also tried the peanut butter pie, which was delicious, but almost too much for one person.
They boast their wines, and true to form, they have plenty to choose from, however, the single glass selection was somewhat limited. I'll have to go back when I'm not dining solo so i can pick a nice bottle.
Food and service was great. The waitress took time to explain all the specials and items on the menu, and was patient with our large group. Plates were artistically presented and very tasty. Great combination of textures and flavors! Tasting menu was awesome. Portions were sized right and did leave feeling stuffed.
Our Hostess made the evening very special by bringing us a free flute of bubbly to get the birthday party started. The food, drink, and Ambiance were very well done. The only items they might consider changing would be a way to dampen the loudness. The walls are hard (masonry) as is the hardwood floor which amplifies sound.
My wife remarked that she felt she would have liked to seen a some sort of bread option on the menu perhaps as an appetizer or suchlike.
