We started off dinner with a selection of cheese and meat - it was really wonderful that the waitress was able to give us good direction and really seemed to know her stuff. The soft shell crab was great. The Vespa cocktails were great. Seems like a good place to take a date or go with friends. I love the decor and the vibe of the place! Would definitely go back if ever in DC again.

Excellent food in a charming and trendy, casual DC setting. Each of our group of 6 was delighted by the dishes chosen. (My husband can't stop talking about his delicious bluefish dinner.) Prices are reasonable, selections are varied, food is fresh and creative. We will return.

Lovely, rustic decor and really interesting, delicious food. All the flavors were very complex and unique. Loved the local and vibrant beer selection as well.

I found this place based on Open Table reviews, and it did not disappoint!

Went for. brunch with out of town foodie friends. I was originally excited to introduce them to a place where i had a great brunch not long ago. But they changed the menu for Fourth of July. Waitress claimed they notified diners but I was not made aware of this when I booked the reservation (nor did i see it in the confirmation email the day before). Instead of brunch, all their menu really offered was "a bucket of friend chicken" and some sides. The fried chicken alone was $40, very small pieces, not memorable in any way except for their small sizes, even though she kept claiming they always "sold out" on this menu item. Sides were similarly disappointing. Also, we had to flag down the servers a couple of times, even though the place was nearly empty. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing second visit. I might consider returning *one* more time, but i would not take friends there who aren't willing to take a gamble.

We had brunch today, the food was good but not exceptional. The waiter seemed hesitant to speak and we needed to lead the ordering. Mimosa's were good. Prices were reasonable. We were able to stay and chat for a long while after we finished dining and there was no pressure to leave. Will definitely eat here again but will try dinner next time.

We were in town and staying in the NoMa area for a business meeting. We found Boundary Road through Open Table and Trip Advisor. The food and the service were both great! The sriracha fries were wonderful. My business partner ordered the brick chicken, which was a very big portion. I had the hangar steak, which was tender and very well prepared. Neither of us are foodies, but we were both very happy with our meal. We would definitely go back if we stay in that area again.

The duck and the bison steak/- excellent, even on a warm night. The wine and beer list always top notch, and accommodating to kids to boot-- excellent choice for family and friends dining on Capitol Hill. A great place without the screens (they have one for big events but usually rolled up and hidden). A definite guaranteed win.

Perhaps it's because spring is in the air, but I was looking forward to a light and airy space. Our large group was seated towards the rear of the restaurant. I didn't notice how much darker it was until we walked toward the light (aka leaving the restaurant). The food was heavy and colorless, but fine. The punch was delicious, but our server was slow to deliver refills. I'll probably not come back here on my own.

My only qualm was that while we were dining there was a large group next to us that had a small child that was with them. I don't mind children at all but at one point this kid was running around tables, and screaming. The parents didn't seem to care and it as it went on no one on staff asked them to politely take care of their child. I told the host to please take our check to our server because it was ruining the experience. I don't have issues with kids dining out but a restaurant is not your home and when half of the restaurant is clearly annoyed with the situation I think it's warranted for the staff to say something. We plan to go back but this was just unfortunate because the food was so good!

Went to Boundary Road on Sunday, March 29th for brunch with 4 other people. I have historically been a great fan of the restaurant and, living nearby, I see it as a great neighborhood spot. However, on this particular day service was a mess. It took forever for our waiter to acknowledge our table, then to take a bring drink orders, and then to take and bring our food order.

Staff would walk by our table (and others, it wasn't just us) completely oblivious to the fact that our table might need even the most basic service such as water or coffee. One table near us feared even worse as they sat for over 15 minutes without a single employee acknowledging them.

Boundary Road, I want to love you but if this is your new normal I will have to find a new neighborhood favorite.

They really had down a lot of the things that make a great brunch. The consistency of their bread pudding was perfect, they understood the dynamics of each texture.

Drinks were on the good side of things (not amazing or innovative, but definitely pretty good).

Price was very reasonable for the area. All in all, Boundary Road checked most of the boxes and didn't have anything going against them.

I just moved to the H Street area and highly recommend Boundary Road. The food is delicious - especially the hanger steak and the pierogis! Don't miss the zeppoles for dessert. Happy hour is 5-7pm and includes $5 beer, $6-7 wine, and small plates/snacks.

Mostly locally sourced, gorgeous exposed brick. Upscale without being stuffy, great neighborhood gem for the for-now more barren Hill end of H Street. My bison shortrib wasn't over the top but it was definitely good, and the vegetable bed was a perfect pairing. My date seemed to enjoy her risotto. She definitely enjoyed her cocktail, a house take on a Tom Collins, and my tempranillo was a nice selection. The waitress was polite and there when we needed her, and the food came out rather quickly. I'll be back.

Couldn't make up our minds so we ordered the Hungry Man/Woman which offered a taste of several things on the menu. Loved the fried egg over the Hoppin John and the apple/cheese pancake was very yummy. Service was great too. This will be a neighborhood go-to for us!

Had a very good brunch with some interesting additions to the "usual" brunch menu. The Apple/Cheese Pancake with Maple Syrup was a share and was very, very good. Definitely worth a full order next time. The Benedicts were very good too - the Quiche was probably the weakest main. My beet, bacon and radicchio sandwich was very good and a really nice combination of flavors. Our server was terrific. I would definitely recommend this to friends.

We were looking to explore the new vibrant H Street corridor scene and decided to check out Boundary Road this past Saturday evening. The restaurant had a decent vibe, but service was particularly slow. Our waitress appeared disinterested in her job and her jack of passion showed. The noise level was high, and sadly there are too many seats set up in the dining room, so we were stuck by the cold, drafty front door. I was never able to get warm enough to enjoy the experience. My very "lean buffalo hangar steak," was tough and stringy. It was a shame, because otherwise the flavor son my plate were very nice. My spouse ordered the fish and it had a distinct fishy odor and taste, which made the entire dish disappointing. This place's vibrant bar scene and high energy make it a great spot for an after dinner drink, but with all the amazing options on the H Street corridor, I would try something else first.

Our dinner at Boundary Road last night was one of the most perfect restaurant experiences I've ever had.

A few things that stood out:
-5 oz tasting glasses of craft beer so you can sample lots of interesting flavors
-Cocktails are $10 but they are delicious (I loved "I'm thinking about getting a Vespa" and "Leaf Peeper")
-Duck confit with homemade sausage and sauerkraut literally melted in my mouth
-My husband loved his swordfish
-The sweet potato pie was flavorful and not too sweet, with a perfect crust
-If I lived close by, I'd be here all the time just for the homemade donuts served with lemon curd
-Our waiter was so perfect that my husband I actually found it humorous. The second you thought about wanting something, he anticipated it and was there, but he never imposed or bothered you.

In short, everything we tasted was wonderful and the whole experience was quite lovely. I highly recommend this place.

The food was great, server appeared to be new, but was very helpful with specific questions. Hard to find after dinner was served.
Drink options were surprisingly limited, only Chardonnay was a blend, popular gins not available and only regular and decaf coffee.

I had to organize a dinner for visiting academics and filmmakers on a busy Saturday night and decided on Boundary Road because I had eaten there a year or more ago, and it was close to my visitors' hotel. The staff was VERY accommodating. We had opted for the $60/person prix fixe dinner, just for the simplicity of it, but the amount of food they ended up bringing us was overwhelming, and I'm talking about beautifully thought out, well plated, ample, flavorful, unique dishes. We honestly thought dessert was coming out when entrees came out instead. Even our four vegetarians were very pleased. The waitstaff was very cheerful and attentive, and the chef came out to explain every course. I enjoyed myself and and the food so much, I took friends there again the following Monday.

We went to Boundary Road for the first time on Friday, as a last minute decision, even though we've lived in the neighborhood for almost 2 years. We were pleasantly surprised & will definitely return! Our server was great - very attentive & accommodating, with a nice demeanor about her. We got the bluefish & swordfish, and though we liked both, the swordfish was outstanding! I'm getting that next time! Perfectly cooked with delicious accompaniments. We ordered the Limberger red to go with the meal and it was well-balanced. Their beer selection is great, too.
Check it out!!
