Boulevard Five72 Ratings and Reviews
The staff was well trained and attentive. Although our table wasn't ready the staff checked on us and made sure we were having a good time in the bar area while we waited and kept us updated. The food was unique and well prepared. Detail detail detail .......they were on top of there game.
Silent surprise to my girl friend who thought we were going to the mall. Int eh early evening the place was silent. Not many customers which felt a little quaintt. The meny new to my pallet. Tried the duck for maybe the fifth time in my life. I'm no duck expert but Boulevard five72 make the most amazing delicious duck. Mountain chocolate fudge for desert capped off the night, Delicioso. Employees were kind and helpful. Some occasion I would ask annoying questions and they would always respond with a smile. You don't get that from McDonalds anymore.
This restaurant opened a year or two ago in a location which has been many other restaurants in the past. The first time I was there I thought it was overpriced for the quality. That is no longer true. The execution has improved to equal the aspiration. The cooking is sophisticated and uniformly excellent. Both appetizers and entrees that my wife and I had were excellent. Strongly recommend this place.
Love this restaurant!! Food is innovative and expertly prepared. Service is always attentive but not intrusive. The wine selection is varied and the wine pairing with dinner option allows one to sample delicious wines to compliment all the three courses. They have been dead on with the pairings! Wish they would bring back the music on Fridays nights!!
We cannot wait to go back and are considering having our 35th wedding anniversary there because of the great food, service and ambiance!
We had the lobster tasting dinner that they have on Friday night and it was a lot of fun. Food was great. Meal is prix fix.
We are becoming regulars here the staff is really friendly and the food is Iron Chef style. Plated well and just delicious. Recommend going to the brunch as well. Menu is always changing so alwauys something new.
My girlfriend brought me there for my birthday. Neither of us had been before. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised but when we walked in we were instantly comfortable. The service was only second to the food. It was the absolute best all around restaurant experience i have had in many years.
Thank you Boulevard and we're looking forward to returning.
P.S. We are 1 hour away but it was absolutely worth the drive.
I had been wanting to eat at this restaurant for a while due to the write ups in the Inside Jersey magazine & the New Jersey Monthly magazine. They did not lie! This restaurant was well worth the trip. The prix fixe menu was reasonable & the food was so well constructed with the flavors well combined. I can't say enough good things & will suggest that all of my friends eat here. I now want to come back & try mostly everything on the menu. The servers were nice & didn't over inundate you with service. They came when necessary & were appropriately attentive. I think the wine list is awesome & this too will take several visits to come back and explore.
My family and I had Christmas Eve dinner, Feast of the Seven Fishes, at Boulevard Five 72. Each of us ordered a different appetizer, first course, second course and dessert so we sampled the entire menu. The consensus on the food was "outstanding". Each dish was presented beautifully. Wait staff were professional and attentive, yet unobtrusive. I have never been disappointed in this restaurant.
I selected this restaurant because of proximity, the menu & the chance to try something new. Let me say that I selected correctly! From the moment we entered the restaurant it was clear that night was going to be great! This dinner was for my mother-in-laws' 50th b-day. We were given a spacious corner booth, perfect. When looking at the menu it was one of the first times that each one of us(mother, friend, mother-in-law &, especially myself)wanted to order every item. The seafood sampler, to die for! Sweet corn and crab chowder, perfection! A small amuse-bouche from the chef, warmed the soul. Each entree was better than the next, Veal, Short Ribs, Venison, & Rib-eye...cooked & seasoned perfectly. A perfect meal from start to end.
Where do I start? The selections of wines and cocktails is extensive and the tasting menu also comes with wines so all of that along with the regular menu and the specials there is an unlimited amount of choices. The wait staff is both attentive and helpful with selections of cocktails and entrees. I had the best angus steak I have ever eaten and that includes Ruth Chris! I will definitely be back and I've been there several times before so it never disappoints.
The food is always good here, but it could be warmer. Everyone said their side dishes were cold.
We were a group of six women, and they seated us in a corner banquette so three of us were in, and three were out, in chairs. The table was near a large French door which doesn't close properly, so there was a draft on the three people in chairs. Though we complained several times, nothing was done about it.
The decaf coffee was undrinkable and had to be sent back. They did not take it off the bill however, until we requested it.
My overall feeling about this restaurant is that it is too expensive. It's Kenilworth, not New York.
I have had adinner a few times here and it has been excellent each time. The dishes are all fresh and well prepared. This evening I had the tasting menu. The pumpkin ravioli was a standout. The red snapper was fresh and well prepared in a flavorful sauce. I will look forward to my next meal here. Moderately expensive, but worth it.
This is the third year that my family has gone here or Thanksgiving. They have a "family style menu" with a nice set of 6 appetizers (loved the crab cakes and pumpkin ravioli), with a small serving of butternut squash soup as an amuse bouche. Entrees included traditional turkey meal - we had filet with blue cheese, duck, lamb shank and a veal chop. The meal finishes with a nice selection of small desserts. The atmosphere was very nice, had a family feel to it, and the service was very personal and attentive. We plan to keep returning!
Second time here and in general, 572 does not disappoint. However I have to recommend sticking with meats as seafood seems to be over-cooked (both grilled octopus appetizer and scallops entree). Great place for a drink at the bar or to linger for late dinner.
Very nice overall. Other than a large noisy party group that filled the bar area prior to being brought upstairs, we had a nice experience. We may return.
The biggest killer of a fine restaurant, is exposing party groups with individual dining patrons. It can be a bummer when you enter a restuarant & the noise level & crowd is near mob like.
My wife and I seem to always come here for special occasions or when we crave their food. Our server was David H. From now on I will request him. He chose drinks to pair with my meal and it was a blast to just let him chose what he thought I would like. The food was great and the desserts were even better. I wish we could of tried them all!
My wife and I went for just a night out and had an amazing time. The food was unbelievably good and the service was at the same level. It's not often I find a restaurant that excels in all parts of the dining experience. They are doing it right and I will definately recommend to others.
oh, they also have an extensive wine list and incredible desserts; server told me they have their own in-house pastry chef!
I had one of the best meals in years at Boulevard Five 72. The chef sent out a delicious amuse, which is always a nice touch. The crab salad was out of this world served with avocado, mango and papaya. My entree was the seafood risotto with an abundance of lobster, scallops and shrimp. I recently learned the chef owns his own seafood company!! Great wine list with a good variety of prices. Looking forward to my next visit.
A well designed place lacking the creativity it promotes. Pumpkin ravioli is a good attempt but lacks the flavor to make it perfect. Get rid of the foam. It's boring and overused! Salmon was good and well prepared. Wine list is acceptable but needs better presentation by staff. Staff needs to be dedicated to their own section. I was asked by 3 different wait staff how my dinner was in the span of five minutes. The interruptions are not appreciated. Overall it's trying too hard.. Relax you have a great space...
