Boulevard Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This is a converted house in Old Town Elk Grove. We had wonderful steak on a Wednesday for a birthday dinner. It was about 75% full and while it wasn’t hushed tones quiet, we could still converse in normal speaking voices. Wine list is varied, although not extensive. You will find the right wine. It probably changes with the menu. I know the menu changes with the seasons. This IS a small restaurant so you aren’t getting a large menu. But what they do, they do VERY well. Definitely quality over quantity.
Definitely worth the drive....full disclosure though... my drive was less than a mile.
Our regular "go to" in Elk Grove Ca. for any special occasion - and once again, they not only didn't disappoint, they hit it out of the ballpark - I had the lamb shank (unbelievable delicious!) and hubby had the filet - we were celebrating his 85th birthday. Each bite was a "mmmmmmm" moment -- tiny living room inside a small home, the atmosphere is upscale (white table cloths, etc.) and intimate. Service is nearly impeccable - old school and so wonderful to experience. It's dining with a capital "D" instead of eating on the fly - such a treat! Thank you Boulevard Bistro for bringing such a wonderful venue to Elk Grove, Ca.
We love Blvd Bistro - it's our go-to local dining spot. We have been for dinner and brunch time and time again since they first opened their doors, and continue to love and be satisfied each time. We have gone for a couples night out, family dinner with kids, group dining and event dining. I've been satisfied every time. It has a local feel and is consistently great service and food. Priced well. If you aren't happy with something because, hey it happens, just tell the server and they take care of you, no problem. It is a great place all around. I always dress light because it is a small place and with the kitchen and full house of people it runs warm.
Everything was perfect...from the waiter, dinner selection, dessert. Dinners were prepared exactly as requested and was absolutely delicious. We ordered Salmon and Pork Chop...great choices! Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake and Apple Crisp....these were amazing! Thank you!!!
The food is always very good here and the service is excellent. However, the ambiance could be better, the decor is a little too simple and the carpet needs replacing. The reception area is awkward when you first come in. It's cramped and gets crowded quickly.....
We went to Boulevard Bistro for our Anniversary, and although it was very good and I gave this restaurant 4 stars. I do have suggestions to make it 5 star. We booked reservations through Open Table, and Open Table asks in it's application if we are celebrating a special occasion. I put in that we were celebrating our Anniversary. Service was great, but we mentioned we were celebrating our Anniversary, and my husband and I thought it would have been nice if they acknowledged it first. This showing they are that "special" restaurant. When you dine at a family owned restaurant and it's fine dining, there is usually that special touch. Again, only a recommendation... it would separate them from other fine dining establishments. Overall, had a great time because it was with my guy and the service was 5 star!
The food has been consistently great every time we go there. The staff is great, they work really well together, and they even remember the little tweaks we like. The chef/owner is super nice and the kitchen is clearly very talented. We have had new flavors and combinations, and superb wines. It's a perfect place for us. We wish it wasn't six hours from home!
A quaint restaurant that has excellent service and fantastic food. I and my wife went for our 28th wedding anniversary and were extremely happy with the service and the quality of the food. The restaurant is a cottage in Elk Grove, CA that was converted into a restaurant. Being born and raised in New York and having extensively traveled and have eaten in many restaurants we were impressed on the menu and how well prepared and presented was the food. My best wishes to the Chef and all the staff members that made the evening a wonderful experience. Having lived in the local area for many years I only wished we knew of this retaurant sooner.
Recently went with friends for dinner. The guys had the pork chop. It was huge, tender and tasty. My friend had the salmon which was tasty but a very tiny portion. I had the shrimp etouffe . Our server said it was "spicey", but it was bland. Our watermelon/arugula salad needed a tastier dressing. We have always enjoyed our meals here and will come back. Hopefully, they just had a rare "off" night. The restaurant was packed with people waiting on the porch for tables.
