The Boulder Cork Restaurant has provided quality food and excellent service since 1969. The restaurant is now one of Colorado’s most renowned dining experiences. The casual, yet attentive atmosphere is the perfect place to spend a special evening, be it to relax with friends or entertain business associates. Our banquet facilities can accommodate large groups with the quiet proficiency and superior quality that has become the hallmark of The Boulder Cork. The food is an impressive display of creativity and variety, masterminded by the chef, Jim Smailer. Chef Smailer has created an enticing offering of steaks, prime rib, chicken, pasta, and fresh fish selections; all on the cutting edge of culinary delight. The food is as fresh as the market allows. The true epicurean will agree that our efforts are apparent to both the eyes and the palate, from the appetizer through the handmade desserts.

Went here for my daughter’s 40th Birthday. They helped us surprise her. We had a wonderful dinner. Steak was amazing! Then the waiter took our picture,. Little did we know, they also took a picture and put it in their own special frame as a keepsake. Would definitely return.

I had a business lunch on this visit. The unfortunate part of the lunch is that 3 of us ordered a Cork burger all of them well done. One of them came out rare with blood dripping on the plate. The other was medium and the third was cooked perfect. We sent back the rare patty and it came back pink in the middle and over cooked on the edges. Seemed like it was just thrown into a microwave, put on high and then placed back on plate. No manager came over to engage with us. I found this strange since a meal was sent back. It was a little embarrassing for me because I suggested this place this place for our business meeting. It really turned the focus of out meeting to be useful to more about how disappointed we were with the dishes. I am not sure that I will visit the Cork again for a business lunch again.

One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Atmosphere was good and it was a nice combination between upscale but not pretentious. The noted exception is our server - who may have just been spent from a very long shift dealing with the crowd after a Buffs game - came across as a bit uppity. Also, the kitchen was a bit backed up so we waited quite a bit for the entrees - but it was worth the wait.

We were here for my husband's birthday celebration. He had never been there and The Cork was great! The specials were unique and delicious. He especially enjoyed the birthday photo in the Cork frame - how thoughtful! No other restaurants in Boulder have done that as a special birthday treat - and we've been to most of the high end restaurants. Parking was so easy and free! Service was very good - an overall pleasant experience. We will be returning soon.

We celebrated out 60th Anniversary at the Cork and were treated as special guests. We enjoyed a delicious meal and it ended with the special Mud Pie!

Consistent quality of food, service, atmosphere and a great place to spend a special occasion. The super friendly service is matched by their professional training in hospitality. And the food, is ALWAYS of the highest quality and exceptional in preparation and presentation. No one makes as good of a Wedge Salad as Boulder Cork. We've tried them all over the country and no one gets it quite this right as BC. The Prime Rib sandwich served at dinner is by far one of the most mouth watering hankerings you'll ever have! They're always prepared perfectly with perfectly made condiments of horseradish sauce and au jus. Fries done right, love them. This evening was our 13th anniversary, which we just casually mentioned in our reservation. They did not let that slip by. At the end of the meal they brought out their Famous Mud Pie with a candle lit on top! Also, they took a quick picture and by the time we left brought us a print inside a lovely BC card with the date to remember the event. Thank you to BC for always making every dining experience one to remember!

Everything from the service to the meal was excellent! Little nervous about the trout since I don’t like to eat fish with the bone in. The waiter assured me that the fish would be deboned with skin on. Probably the best tasting fish I’ve ever had! I would definitely recommend Boulder Cork. I will be back!

The Boulder Cork is the best place to go on the Front Range for a special occasion or any other day . We drive from Red Feather Lakes to Boulder several times a year to go to The Boulder Cork. It is definitely our favorite restaurant! The cocktails and wine list are superb and there is nothing on the menu that isn't incredibly delicious!

My husband and I like the Cork for a perfect steak and salad (love the Cork salad). Our experience this time was definitely not great simply because the noise level in the backroom where we were seated (the only 2-top) among large parties including one table of 10-12 people complete with a screaming baby. Service was excellent and food good as usual - I just couldn’t wait to get out because my husband and I couldn’t have a conversation. Will ask to be seated in the main dining room next time where noise level is energetic but not deafening.

We have been enjoying The Cork for the 50 years it has been open. We have had many major celebrations in private rooms and many couple celebrations as well. It has become our “go to” location for all things worth celebrating. Thank you for always making our nights special!

Used open table to reserve a table but they couldn’t find it. So the notes about it being my 19th wedding anniversary and liking a private area fell on deaf ears.

I was very disappointed in the food. There was no salt in the bread, butter or in the cooked macaroni. You could taste they didn't put salt in the water. It was almost like eating at a nursing home or hospital. My steak was good, but not as tender as it should be for what it cost. The mud pie and chocolate gelato were out of this world good! I my daughter and granddaughter have been on a restrictive diet and it made my day to see them in pure delight over how good that was. It was actually hot in the restaurant, which is unusual, as it is usually freezing. The atmosphere is still one of my favorite places, very cozy.

Our waiter Bijan was a very attentive server. He made our 53rd Wedding Anniversary so special. The Cork will always be our choice for special occasions and of course the best happy hour. Thanks for a great evening.

From the appetizer to the main courses and desserts, it was rough. The "special" was a halibut and was described as having a corncake underneath it. I thought of something like a corn polenta-type compliment to the dish, since the description wasn't in the menu. I kid you not, it was a piece of halibut on top of two buttermilk pancakes, and the pancakes had some pieces of sweet corn mixed in it. Was it well-prepared? Yes. Was it a very bizarre and nonsensical combination of foods and flavors? Yes, and it was a big miss. The crabcake appetizer had no crispiness to it, but it had a carrot slice and a piece of cilantro on the side. It's a crab cake with dill already on there, so I'm not sure why another herb is on the plate. Presentation was low and confusion was high. Finished with the Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert because hey, different chef, so let's end on a high note! Nope. There's no pudding in the mix. It was a piece of cinnamon cake (not very moist), with some toffee drizzled over it and two scoops of vanilla ice cream.

But hey, the halibut was awesome and my wife's steak was good too. All of this for $200, and I'd like my money back. Overall, very disappointing.

Entrees were very overpriced for what they were ($40+ for a simple salmon preparation...meat dishes even worse) and for the pretty ordinary ambiance. Simple salads were also seriously overpriced. The food was...meh. Lastly, I ordered a glass of wine that arrived corked (no pun intended). That can happen anywhere, and the waiter made it right without argument, so that’s really just a nit. We had a 5:30 reservation, so my guess is that the open bottle was carried over from the night before. The second glass, from a new bottle, was fine.

This is a long-in-the-tooth place that prices its food as if it were a gourmet destination experience. It isn’t. Any number of restaurants within easy striking distance provide a better experience at a lower cost.

I love the Cork and have loved since it opened in 1969. You just can't beat their prime rib. My only disappointment was my Grey Goose martini. It tasted watered down. Otherwise, perfection. The huge slab of mud pie was devoured by the three of us. The Cork works. . . with other restaurants would learn from everything they do.
