Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Will be back when we return to Boulder. Food is amazing and deserts are even better!
They messed up our friend get together, rather inexplicably. I made the reservation. Our friends got there about 10 minutes early and were seated in the bar and then later in a dining area. They had given my name. My husband and I arrived about 2 minutes early and mentioned that our friends might already be there. No, we were told. And seated in a dining room. After we waited a half hour for our friends to show up, my husband went back to the entrance to check on them. As he was wandering our friends spotted him and we finally got together. Since time was short, the loss of a half hour from our get together was very annoying.
We tried a lot harder than the restaurant did.
We were here 4 years ago and have talked about it over and over. We are from Alabama and finally got a chance to come back. The sake salmon was just as good as we remembered .
Love the Cork. We go when we can. The food’s always good and the staff is great.
The food at The Cork is consistently good. The prime rib and wedge salad are the best around.
The Cork performed for a business meal, once again. Lionel is the best server in Boulder. Hands down, a fantastic experience.
Excellent meals and service. Great value with early or happy hour meals.
Fantastic steak cooked to perfection. The ambiance was lovely, this would be a perfect spot for a special occasion. Menu wasn't excessive, they just focus on great, well prepared food.
Excellent food and service. We had the ribs and quinoa cakes and both choices were very good.
One of our favorite restaurants, the food, ambiance and overall dining experience at The Cork is always first class. We have been dining here for years and never disappointed, the pepper steak is the best and we will be back.
After leaving Boulder for Longmont, I hadn't been to the Cork for awhile. I suggested the Cork for lunch with a friend because it's quiet, parking is great and crowds are minimal around the restaurant. Downtown Boulder is such a hassle so why should eating out be? Great service by our French waiter -- charming!
The place is unbelievably noisy. Went for a business lunch, we were screaming at each other to be heard
Put in some acoustic tile, or something. Bose has some great sound systems for this. No excuse anymore for this type of environment to exist. I know you have been around a long time, pull out your checkbook and fix this. Won't be back anytime soon. Wendy's is quieter.
Over priced for the quality. Service was excellent
I'd heard a lot about the Cork, and went in a little nervous it wouldn't live up to the hype... We had a great meal, and I look forward to returning again in the future! Started with the lobster ravioli and crabcakes, I had the half prime rib sandwich (which has enough meat for a whole roll!) and my husband had the fish bowl. Finished it off with a delicious peach cobbler.
Brought a group of eleven in for dinner to celebrate an extended family get together. We were seated in a room of our own with service directed by a remarkable young woman. Two of our guests needed to leave early, so we requested that their meals be served as promptly as possible. Our server handled this request smoothly and without any apparent effort. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed all the appetizers and appreciate the server's strong recommendation of the bivalve special , which stood out from all the other appetizers. The evening was a great success, made so in no little part by our server's orchestration of the entire evening. 5 star's to her.
We've been eating at the Cork since 1969, it's our favorite go to restaurant.
We had not been here since Valentine's Day, so that was quite a while. The Service was attentive but not intrusive, helpful and knowledgeable.
Our smoked Salmon/Trout appetizer was divine with the delicate flavor of the fish not at all in conflict with the smoke flavor itself. Our Prime Rib is a house specialty and they really know their business.
Terrific value for the money and one of the best (under the radar) wine lists in Boulder that only locals seem to know about. That the tourists don't know about this place adds immensely to it's appeal!
We did a pre-show dinner. They were prompt and helpful. The food was great. We had 5 people and ordered 5 different things and it was all good. A little pricey.
We love the Cork and always enjoy dining there. Things seemed a little slow this time, and I’m not sure why as they were not crowded. Fortunately, we weren’t in any hurry and it ended up being a nice lunch.
As a Boulder native, I've been to the Cork several times over the years and it's always been a special occasion favorite for my whole family so I was looking forward to revisiting it after moving away. Perhaps it was an off night for them but it was not on par with my experiences from a few years ago nor what I expect in any way for dropping a couple hundred bucks on dinner for two. We had a reservation and were seated as one of a few small tables in a room with two large parties. The din from those large groups made it hard to carry on a conversation, there was 1 server for this room (~30 people), which was not enough to get prompt or attentive service. My companion and I both had steaks and Cork salad. The salads were excellent. However, while the med rare cook on my steak was spot on, the quality, flavor and tenderness were, in my opinion, barely above a chain steakhouse - very disappointing.
Does not disappoint. Food was great as usual. Noise level very high.
The Boulder Cork has been around for a long time for a very good reason-excellent food + service. It's a great place for an after work drop-in, a lunch date, or a full dinner. It's also a "special occasion" dining experience.
this place has great food but terrible ambience. It is a tiny space and desperately needs noise abatement measures. this would be easy to do given the construction but no attempt has been made. we could not even hear ourselves think, much less have a conversation.
Overall we enjoyed our meal. Was a little disappointed at the cost of the crab legs. Learned afterwards that it was $90 for 1 and half pounds of crab legs. Over priced in my opinion and had no warning that it would be that expensive. Other than that we were very happy with our meal.
It’s been my favorite since the cleaver menus and the salad bar!
Remains one of our favorites!
Over-priced. The grilled watermelon with goat cheese was salad was $16 and tasteless. My trout was prepared with a Mexican topping that was zesty, the side serving of Mac & Cheese was creamy, but the spinach was only half sautéed. My friend’s prime rib was served as a slab of meat without a single side. It looked very unappetizing to me. The desserts were good, but $300 for 4 beers, 1 cocktail, 4 meals, 4 desserts that were simply OK will not bring me back.
I love the steaks here, and the specials are always killer. Good drinks and a great wine selection. One of my favorites when I'm in Boulder.
Everything was great
We hadn't been to the Boulder Cork in over 40 years but chose it to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. We are so glad that we did! The atmosphere was lovely, quiet, discreet - tables are placed comfortably away from each other, and quite unlike most restaurants these days that have a noise level that is almost painful. The Cork is old-school dining with a modern touch. All of our food was delicious, and portions are generous. My husband had prime rib, and I had the grilled NY steak. Both were cooked perfectly, and all of the sides we ordered (Cork potatoes, roasted veggies, and creamed spinach) were wonderful. The only item that was disappointing was the salad special of the day that I ordered - 2 slices of grilled watermelon with goat cheese between them, over a bed of dressed arugula. The execution was fine, but in retrospect, it was probably too early for watermelon to be at it's peak and the watermelon on my plate was tasteless, not sweet at all, like I expected it would be.
Other than that, the Boulder Cork exceeded our expectations and we will definitely come back and dine here again!
Excellent service food and drinks. Thank you.
The Cork is and will continue to be my go-to-pace for a great business lunch! Food and service are consistently good!
We visited Boulder Cork based on a review from Trip Advisor and we love the ability to use Open Table to make reservations online. We arrived at our reserved time and were sat quickly. Our waiter came to our table quickly and our food came in the perfect amount of time. Our appetizer and food were all delicious-
We have had many, many great meals at Boulder Cork. This lunch was fabulous as well. Best restaurant in Boulder.
We felt comfortable as soon as we walked in and had an delicious filet done to perfection. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the decor was casually elegant and not overdone. The wait staff was very attentive but not overbearing. A great place for dinner to enjoy a top notch steak. A little pricy, but worth the money. We will be back.
The food was great and the cocktails were excellent. The mud pie is to die for as usual. Minor gripes...service could have been better. We waited for our drinks for a awhile and when asked if we wanted more bread it was never brought out. Overall a great night.
We were celebrating an adult’s birthday which I advised Boulder Cork at time of reservation. Just barely acknowledged by wait staff, which is okay but makes me wonder why they even asked. Caesar salad just okay as dressing thin but croutons tasty. The Boulder Cut prime rib was excellent - wonderfully tasty and perfectly prepared. The filet was cooked to exact level but peppercorn sauce was not very peppery and we found out afterwards that it could have been cooked on as a crust, which was what we thought we were getting. Fish special was okay. Polenta was below average. Kids menu chicken tenders were great although never figured out what the ranch dressing really was. Kids menu cheese ravioli were wonderful but only about 6 pieces which did not satisfy a 9 year old. Two glasses of wine were just fine and reasonably priced. Also two cups of kids juice and two cokes. Service average. Bill with tip about $290.00. We would come back for the steak and prime rib!
Nice selection on their menu. Good early bird menu and happy hour menu. Loved the prime rib and baked potato. Will be back! Great food.
A Boulder staple that is worth the drive and money! Just wish the dessert portions were smaller!
