Great food and service!
Outstanding filet special with crab meat. Melt in your mouth prime rib. Large side dishes are shareable. My only complaint is that the wine pours could be more generous and margaritas should come in a large glass, not cocktail size.
The early dinner from 5-6 used to be a great value and many might say it still is but the portions have gotten smaller to the point where it is not enough food. For example, I barely had any beef stew with my pile of mashed potatoes. They used to serve more than just a spoonful of beef stew with that meal.
Great food, great service, year after year. This is, and always will be, one of our go to's for special occasions!
Have been numerous times and have always had a great experience. Highly recommend Boulder Cork
As always The Cork was, superb! Will go,again soon!
Thanksgiving dinner mid-afternoon. Limited menu but nice variety of selections. Cozy nice-casual atmosphere with fireplace. Friendly service.
Everything was lovely: food, service, and reservation. Our neighboring table was loud, so it was hard to enjoy a quiet conversation. Not your fault.
Great menu with a lot of options. The dining area had a very nice ambience to it.
Excellent restaurant and wine list. The service is amazing.
We had trouble hearing each other at our table. Can you create a quieter place fir the over 65 crowd?
Food was mediocre. The shrimp cocktail tasted like shrimp had been refrozen. The smoked salmon app tasted like it came out of a can. The prime rib however was very good. Creme Brulee was tasty, chocolate moose very bitter, and cheesecake was over cooked.
Would not recommend.
The Boulder Cork offers an excellent experience that allowed us, as a group of coworkers, to relax, tell stories, laugh and have fun while the staff took great care in serving us well and delivering beautifully created and presented dishes. It was truly the perfect evening for us.
A few items of note... The scallops were fresh, tender, and seasoned just enough. The chocolate mousse was decadently, richly chocolate. If you cherish chocolate, you'll understand.
Always delicious. Dependable . Good service. Love the roast beef.
The Boulder Cork never disappoints. When our San Francisco relatives visit, the Cork is on their "menu". Traveling from one foodie city to another, it's a testament to how good the food and service are.
Cork is a classic Boulder tradition. Good food and wine and reasonable.
Went there for First Bite and was not disappointed. Food and service were terrific, as they always have been. Been dining here since the late 70's and it's amazing.
Had to send my medium order of prime rib back. It was pink and not medium. Even when it came back, it wasn’t that good .
Super dinner at the Cork! Great food and service. We will definitely be back!!
I've been going to the cork and cleaver (aka the cork) for decades. Always enjoyed the meal albeit pricey since the quality of the food was the best until this visit. I ordered NY strip steak (expensive), mushrooms, baked potato and peppercorn sauce. The steak itself was cooked per what I specified but the cut of meat was substandard. A big ridge of hard fat along one edge and the end of the steak was so riddled with fat is was inedible. The mushrooms, baked potato and peppercorn sauce were good. No salad was included with this expensive entree. It was so noisy it was impossible to have an intimate conversation. My friend ordered the scallops and thought they were delicious but she commented that the value was poor for four scallops. I agreed the value was poor for less than a superlative NY strip cut (I have bought better steak at King Soopers). We will look for another upscale restaurant for V day.
Outstanding service. Truly world class. Quite the wine list. I highly recommend the Colome'.
I ordered prime rib off the early dinner menu. Pretty sure it was left over from the night before. Definitely not recently cooked
Not sure what they were calling mashed potatoes but it was like a pile of something my kids would’ve made out of paste in way too much water
Had cocktails and nachos in the bar before dinner and that was really good
Neither server in the bar or the dining area seem particularly interested In being patient they rather seem quite ambivalent to the whole Reason for us being there
Was it worth $200?
no it was not
After many trips to Boulder I had never been here. What a wonderful place. Everyone in the restaraunt obviously loves it. Lots of excitement around the bar on Saturday night. We came back again Sunday night for dinner, and though it was quite loud at 6, by 9, when we closed the place down, it was lovely and quiet. The service was so professional, the food excellent, the environment great, the drinks tops, I can’t say enough good. I will be back every time I am in town now.
The Cork offers a good selection of American food classics. Likely known mostly for their steaks (and seafood), the menu is a solid selection of a number of different dishes. The restaurant is probably best known for its consistency. The food is also solid, and the service is always good. The wine list is quite extensive as well offering quality wines in all price ranges. Overall, a solid pick in Boulder for a fine meal where you can count on superb service.
We have enjoyed the Cork in the past. This time was not the same. It took a long tone to get our food and the plates were not well put together - they seemed thrown on the plate. The food also just was not that good. Then there was the noise level of the restaurant. We were seated in a far corner and could not hear each other talk. It was so loud that people all had to speak loudly at all the tables. It was a really disappointing evening.
Open for 39 years, the Boulder Cork has been one of the constants of top-quality eating in Boulder. Lots of restaurants come and go here, but the Cork has been steadily solid with delicious, fresh food, outstanding service and a comfortable setting. You can pay a lot more to eat well in Boulder, but you won't do much better than the Cork!
Great, service, ambiance, and entrées. My entrée would have been a bit better if it had been a bit warmer but otherwise the entrées were good. The desserts on the other hand were not that good. The cheesecake was dry and lacked any wet saucy fruit topping which made the dryness more apparent. The fruit crumble was disappointing as a comfort food. The healthy nut crumble was not very nice.
From Salads, to cocktails, to deserts...this place is a jewel....can't believe we haven't tried this restaurant before. LOVED IT!!!!!
Food was blah and overcooked. Heard so much about this place and wanted to try it but super disappointed. Service was good but my filet was full of fat and not tender at all. I would recommend skipping this place!
We booked at BC because of the positive reviews. However, what we experienced was not
Positive. The food was really bad! For appetizers, we ordered both the Meatballs and the baked Shrimp. The meatballs were bone dry, along with the sauce was even dry.....perhaps forgotten in the oven???? The meatballs and hardened sauce had no taste! Then the baked shrimp arrived and we all immediately noticed the fishy smell! It too was soo overbaked the cheesey topping hardened into all 3
Shrimp and it became one large blob we had to cut into. The shrimp tasted OLD! We all took one bite and pushed away! Then came the wedge salad, which was BROWN in the middle from old
Lettuce! We were like “WTH”????? For dinner I ordered scallops dish (it was good) my husband the tenderloin (average) my son ordered another large steak and it was “okay”. Dessert: We ordered the ice cream cookie. It was obviously premade and frozen SOLID! A chainsaw couldn’t cut thru it, so we didn’t
I’m sorry, I do not normally write bad reviews, but this restaurant is NOT a place I would recommend to anyone!
Staff was excellent and very friendly.
Ambiance was good but very loud.
Great food, service, value. A must go! We really loved it, and will be back soon!
I love The Boulder Cork. The food is always delicious. They almost always have muscles appetizer, and it is always delicious. I usually get whatever fish they have as a special, frequently halibut. My husband has had almost all the cuts of meat on the menu and is always happy. You get larger portions here than at most other restaurants. The service is almost always great. I like the bar for a more casual outing and the dining room for special occasions.
Fabulous, as always. Consistently excellent food.
One of our favorites.
visited a couple times recently, both times ordered items that never made it to the table.
would not recommend anything but a steak.
Always dependable, the Cork is my first choice for business meals and gatherings. They have a variety of options for dietary preferences. Their wine list is very good, and happy hour outstanding. Great decor and staff.
My wife and I made a reservation for a weeknight without an issue. We were seated right away. They have an extensive wine list and a decent cocktails. We enjoyed their menu. I had the ribeye, but I was a little disappointed that it was a little chilly when it arrived. I also had the Mac and cheese which was phenomenal!
The chocolate cake is MASSIVE! It could feed four or more people. The carrot cake was good, too.
The Boulder Cork is a great alternative to the busy restaurants downtown. The food is terrific and the service is outstanding--and you don't have to drive around for 30 minutes to find parking. There are no outside views, but the indoor ambience is very cozy and comfortable. It is also one of the few quiet Boulder restaurants where you can enjoy conversation and a great meal. It is the perfect place for a business meal or a special occasion!
Delicious , fresh greens. Everyone loved their meal ! Wide menu selection. One friend had grilled cheese and tomato soup- looked yummy! Another friend ordered the Cork salad & I had Cork BLT. Good service . Reservations needed ! Every table full . A bit loud . The Cork is consistently good!
We always enjoy The Cork. Our server was only ok this time, mostly disinterested in taking care of us. Never mentioned our special occasion or made us feel welcome. Food was very good.
Outstanding service, super nice atmosphere, and great food! Made our wedding anniversary so very special, loved the photo and signed card, and the mud pie was delicious! Will definitely be back, next time we visit Boulder.
