We loved our steaks and seafood. Only warning is if you like a well done steak (someone at our table does) order something else. Sides were good. And desserts amazing.
I chose The Boulder Cork specifically for my partner as she is a wine connoisseur (I don’t drink). She did enjoy the wine and purchased a bottle to take home. The steak tasted great and the portions were just right leaving enough room for dessert. The meal was rather lengthy, with the three of us being there 2 and a half hours (our third person was a little late). Our server was attentive but the courses seemed to take a while, no need to blame him on that and he received a good tip. The meal was over $100 per person when the tip is included (two drinks plus the bottle of wine) so it’s very much a special occasion restaurant for us vs a place we’d regularly visit.
I'm a little biased because I used to cook there in the early 1980s, but everything was great. the menu has greatly expanded, although some items remained from 40 years ago. Our table of five had steaks, ribs, pasta, southwestern, and salads (along with some delicious bread). Everyone enjoyed their food. The beer and wine were excellent. One highlight was dessert, including "Cork's Famous Mud Pie," a dessert I remember making, and a light and tasty cheesecake with berries. Our server was informative and attentive, with just the right amount of interaction.
This incredible icon has been in Boulder for over 40 years and still has an exceptional menu, great decor and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend making the 5 minute drive away from Pearl street to check out this great steak house. It is amazing.
It's a testament to The Cork that it's been around as long as it has and is still packed on a Friday night! We were only able to find parking because the happy hour crowd was turning over to the the dinner crowd.
Between the 6 of us we had 4 steaks, all cooked as ordered. Our scallops and salmon were delicious too. The fries are steak house quality!
Our servers were attentive and polite, but the kitchen was super slow. Our only complaint was that our entrees arrived a little over an hour after we were seated.
Wonderful dining experience - food and ambience are 5 star
It’s tradition to bring my parents here for dinner whenever they’re in town. We always love the food, drinks, and atmosphere.
A Boulder institution. Excellent service and very good food. Wish they had a couple more healthy items on the menu.
Been a customer for years. NEVER less than great food and service.
Have had dinner here many times and it’s been a positive experience. Lunch, however, was only mediocre and I probably won’t try it again.
My wife and I celebrated our son Barry's birthday along with his spouse Susie. We have always enjoyed the Cork including back in the days of the menu on a cleaver and cappuccino made in the machine that is now on display.
The stuffed shrimp and crab cakes were outstanding. The wait people were very friendly and did and excellent job. We all enjoyed our main courses. I had the NY which was outstanding.
The Cork never lets us down. Amazing service and food. Kim our server has been our server over the years. Kim is always outstanding. Thanks for a wonderful meal, yet again.
Overall I was a bit disappointed. The food was good but not great. Steaks were great and cooked perfectly. Side dishes were, eh. It was a date night for my wife and I and I hoped to have a nice enjoyable dinner with good adult conversation but it was surprisingly noisy. I guess we can say we have been here now but I probably wouldn't go back.
Went for 5280 and was disappointed in the amount of food for the price; had an impersonal, seemly bored, uncaring waiter; noise level was too loud, ambiance in general was unimpressive (maybe it was our table location). Only 2nd time there and may not go back.
Excellent food, as always. Our favorite Special Occasion destination. Lionel was great!
We had a great evening at the Boulder Cork. The food was excellent, as was the wine selection. We had outstanding service. Our waiter introduced himself to us, (Jesse) as well as the manager. It was a lovely experience.
Great service. Steaks were on the small side. I’ve been there before and the steaks were bigger. Skip the $8 salads. If it were not for our waiter, we would have been disappointed. If you’re expecting a high end steak house, then choose something else.
Always great tasting food! Excellent prime rib and must get the mud pie bites!!
I was looking for a quite place for a business lunch. Loved this place: easy parking, great cozy ambiance and very diverse menu. Definitely will be back just for a lunch by myself. The crab cakes were very good.
This was our first visit to Boulder Cork. I had heard great things about the place so was eager to go. We went during Restaurant Week, and perhaps that was the wrong time to go. We made a reservation with plenty of times to choose from, only to arrive with the place crowded and many people waiting. Other guests who were behind us, who didn’t have a reservation, were sitted before us. Say What!!! We were sitted in the absolute corner behind the fireplace which was quiet cold. Our waiter, who I won’t name, simply went through the routine. Even after I commented that this was our first time there he didn’t break his monologue. The prime rib was very red when I asked for an end cut or well done! The salmon was great! The desserts were great! I would have thought that they would be on their toes during this week to get new customers. I will go another time to see if there is a pattern. It just might be a gem!
We visited Boulder Cork during Restaurant Week as we find it is a great way to try new restaurants without breaking the bank. The service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing. There were 3 of us and we all ordered from the Restaurant Week menu which at $35 seemed to be a good value for a starter, main and dessert. There were 3 of us and two tried the salad and one of us had the avocado toast. I would give the edge to the salad as the prosciutto was a great addition. For mains, two had the pork dish which was wonderful while one had the salmon. And it is here that the ratings went from a sure 5 to a 4. I have to say, it was the smallest piece of salmon I have ever seen served in a restaurant. At its widest it may have been an 1". Yes, it was restaurant week so maybe corners were being cut , but if this was what a normal portion looks like, I would definitely not order that dish again. Dessert was very good and we all enjoyed either the chocolate mousse or the affogato.
Just a really great meal, served professionally in a warm, charming environment.
The food was outstanding and the atmosphere fun; however, there was a mix-up when paying the bill. The server brought the ticket and charged my credit card, but neglected to add a 75.00 bottle of wine. I was called an hour later and asked to re-run the card for the full bill/75.00. I accepted to do this, but it's outrageous that this would occur; especially for what appears to be a higher standard establishment. A little disappointed...
Dinner and service were both exceptional! Would definitely come back again and recommend to friends and family!
The prime rid was excellent!
Had delicious food, served by an attentive and knowledgeable waitperson - really nice evening!
Beautiful dinner on a snowy night by beautiful fireplace. Excellent service, as always!
Great place for dinner with dad!
I have been going to the Cork for decades. It is my favorite place in Boulder for either lunch or dinner. Always have excellent food and service.
The meal was overpriced for the quality of the food. We would not return there because it's not a good value.
Server was great, everyone loved their food.
Favorite Boulder restaurant. Food is great. Staff is great, especially head chef Jim.
The steak and trout were delicious. The chefs presentation was very well done. highly recommend the desserts too!
Valentine’s Day date. Reservations were easy to make even on a busy Friday night. Food was great.
Loved the food and the service. Was a last day celebration lunch and did not disappoint.
Amazing! Just like always. Definitely will be back!!
Very pleasant Valentine's Day dinner with good food and great service.
Great service, delicious food and classic Boulder ambiance
We have had many Valentine's Day dinners out in the Boulder area over the years. Something always seems compromised because of the crowds, whether it be sardine packed tables, bad food, or slow service. The Cork, however, did not compromise anything last night. We are regulars there, and everything was as it would have been on a normal night. Great service, food, and ambiance, as always. Definitely a Boulder gem.
