Great place for special occasions, especially the early dinners.
So awesome! Love this place! Will definitely be back!
Everything from the service to the meal was excellent! Little nervous about the trout since I don’t like to eat fish with the bone in. The waiter assured me that the fish would be deboned with skin on. Probably the best tasting fish I’ve ever had! I would definitely recommend Boulder Cork. I will be back!
Excellent early dinner special. The trout was made perfectly without salt per our request. Great service and moderately quiet allowing us to visit.
Everything was outstanding. Thats really all i have to say
The Cork is always great!!!!!
The Boulder Cork is the best place to go on the Front Range for a special occasion or any other day . We drive from Red Feather Lakes to Boulder several times a year to go to The Boulder Cork. It is definitely our favorite restaurant! The cocktails and wine list are superb and there is nothing on the menu that isn't incredibly delicious!
My husband and I like the Cork for a perfect steak and salad (love the Cork salad). Our experience this time was definitely not great simply because the noise level in the backroom where we were seated (the only 2-top) among large parties including one table of 10-12 people complete with a screaming baby. Service was excellent and food good as usual - I just couldn’t wait to get out because my husband and I couldn’t have a conversation. Will ask to be seated in the main dining room next time where noise level is energetic but not deafening.
We have been enjoying The Cork for the 50 years it has been open. We have had many major celebrations in private rooms and many couple celebrations as well. It has become our “go to” location for all things worth celebrating. Thank you for always making our nights special!
Used open table to reserve a table but they couldn’t find it. So the notes about it being my 19th wedding anniversary and liking a private area fell on deaf ears.
Other than that great steak and food, good early dinner specials
I was very disappointed in the food. There was no salt in the bread, butter or in the cooked macaroni. You could taste they didn't put salt in the water. It was almost like eating at a nursing home or hospital. My steak was good, but not as tender as it should be for what it cost. The mud pie and chocolate gelato were out of this world good! I my daughter and granddaughter have been on a restrictive diet and it made my day to see them in pure delight over how good that was. It was actually hot in the restaurant, which is unusual, as it is usually freezing. The atmosphere is still one of my favorite places, very cozy.
Our waiter Bijan was a very attentive server. He made our 53rd Wedding Anniversary so special. The Cork will always be our choice for special occasions and of course the best happy hour. Thanks for a great evening.
The food was presented well, had great flavor and was an appropriate lunch portion.
From the appetizer to the main courses and desserts, it was rough. The "special" was a halibut and was described as having a corncake underneath it. I thought of something like a corn polenta-type compliment to the dish, since the description wasn't in the menu. I kid you not, it was a piece of halibut on top of two buttermilk pancakes, and the pancakes had some pieces of sweet corn mixed in it. Was it well-prepared? Yes. Was it a very bizarre and nonsensical combination of foods and flavors? Yes, and it was a big miss. The crabcake appetizer had no crispiness to it, but it had a carrot slice and a piece of cilantro on the side. It's a crab cake with dill already on there, so I'm not sure why another herb is on the plate. Presentation was low and confusion was high. Finished with the Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert because hey, different chef, so let's end on a high note! Nope. There's no pudding in the mix. It was a piece of cinnamon cake (not very moist), with some toffee drizzled over it and two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
But hey, the halibut was awesome and my wife's steak was good too. All of this for $200, and I'd like my money back. Overall, very disappointing.
Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Our reservations were for 9pm and the baked potatoe had to be 4 hours old. Terrible for a $200 meal!
Everything from the service and the food was sub par. Now I understand why it still had last minute availability on a Saturday night!!
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food was above average, lots of choices. Good find.
Entrees were very overpriced for what they were ($40+ for a simple salmon preparation...meat dishes even worse) and for the pretty ordinary ambiance. Simple salads were also seriously overpriced. The food was...meh. Lastly, I ordered a glass of wine that arrived corked (no pun intended). That can happen anywhere, and the waiter made it right without argument, so that’s really just a nit. We had a 5:30 reservation, so my guess is that the open bottle was carried over from the night before. The second glass, from a new bottle, was fine.
This is a long-in-the-tooth place that prices its food as if it were a gourmet destination experience. It isn’t. Any number of restaurants within easy striking distance provide a better experience at a lower cost.
We had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was great as well. I always recommend the Cork.
I love the Cork and have loved since it opened in 1969. You just can't beat their prime rib. My only disappointment was my Grey Goose martini. It tasted watered down. Otherwise, perfection. The huge slab of mud pie was devoured by the three of us. The Cork works. . . with other restaurants would learn from everything they do.
One of my favorite restaurants in Boulder. Consistently great food in a lovely setting.
Absolutely delicious, wonderful table/setting, and service! I cannot wait to dine here again soon!
Anniversary date. Our waitress was wonderful...sorry that we didn’t get her name
So overpriced for what you get. I had a sirloin steak. It was only so-so. I’ve had much better at chain restaurants for a third the price. And I’m tired of paying $8 for a beer. On top of this. You have to pay extra for a potato, salad, and vegetables. So plan on $60 total for a mediocre steak.
For $60/lb, the Alaskan King Crab looked a bit minimal. I'm just going on what my eyes were telling me.
Although the taste was excellent.
Had a business dinner with a colleague. Nice place; good food. We both had the Rocky Mountain Trout and it was first rate. We shared a crab cake appetizer; I am originally from Maryland and a bit of a snob when it comes to crab cakes. These were quite good; they didn't pretend to be "Maryland Crab Cakes" as so many restaurants try to do. They were in a nice, light sweet sauce with some veggies as garnish (corn, etc.). Well done. We had a nightcap in the bar after dinner; nice experience. I will definitely return when I am in the Boulder area.
The noise was very bad for the first 60-90 minutes (our reservation was for 7 pm). This is a very nice restaurant and I was surprised at how casual people were dressed. This is Boulder but I still that this was ridiculously casual. The food was excellent and the free dessert for our celebration was wonderful! We definitely will be back but you need to put is some sound deadening.
Good food, but we sat next to an extremely loud table in the main dining room.
Always great service, food, drink and atmosphere. Jim, the head chef is fantastic.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal at the Boulder Cork. Her steak and my prime rib were cooked exactly like we wanted. Our salads were plentiful and tasty. The wine selection was amazing! We will definitely go back!
We eat at The Cork all the time! Lunches are fabulous and the Happy Hour too! This lunch was very nice as it was my Mom's 82nd bday and they brought her a dessert! Thank you!
We are long time attendants of the Boulder Cork! Our past experiences were always excellent and their wait staff were always exceptional! This visit was on a gift card, purchased for my husband 's 75th birthday. We were there as always, with expectations that were definitely met! We love the Boulder Cork!
Our children are coming to visit, and we intend to take them here!
Very nice facility. Service was excellent. Our food exceeded expectations. A nice evening.
Service was great. Food very good and the room we were seated in was nice and quiet. Will definitely return.
Based on the recommendation of a friend and reviews, we chose Boulder Cork for my birthday dinner. While the service was excellent and the setting lovely, the food was an enormous disappointment especially for the price. The artichoke was undercooked, my roast beef was tough, my husband’s ribs were mediocre and my son’s teriyaki steak was tough as well. That there was a charge for sides given the price of the meal itself was a bit much, and most unusual for a restaurant of this quality. Finally, we were surprised that there was no free dessert offered though we had written that this was for my birthday. We really could have had a better meal elsewhere for less money.
It is always a pleasure to dine at the Cork. The cuisine is always excellent and the location perfect in North Boulder.
We love the Cork! The food is always amazing. Our server, Lionel, was fantastic.
There was a family with small children next to us which was unfortunate, but overall it was great.
