Terrible service, not attentive at all. Waited very long time for the food.
Always busy. I had the mussels which were very good but my wife had the leg of lamb which was very tough. She sent it back and we got credit for it which was nice. We will not go back for a long time
I’ve always loved Bushong even more than the French laundry but tonight I got fish that was totally bad my rainbow trout was I had to spit it out horrible and you could smell it and taste it my husband as well and so I am leaving extremely disappointed
Atmosphere is busy, bustling, and slightly on the loud side. The energy is high and the wait staff are always pleasurable, sweet, and have astonishing manners.
The food is classic French, its light and heavy, rich, but flavorful and just always well done!
There is a cool punch card by the front desk I always get because it should be part of anyone’s experience there.
We had a great experience. I would have liked to have seen a better wine program. There are plenty of wonderful high end French wines. More Napa selections at “bistro” prices would be my only suggestion. The food is moderately priced, as a bistro typically is, and the wine program did not suite the menu. The food was outstanding!
I love Bouchon but it can be hit and miss; this last time was a miss. $35 corkage fee is insulting and they didn't decant the wine even though they said they would. Service was good as always. Started with beef tartar which was good but no egg which I found disappointing. I had the veal shank special which tasted as uneventful as it looked on the plate. I'll always go back because I've had so many good meals there. But this wasn't one of them.
Everything was absolutely perfect. I ordered the steak and fries, steak was cooked medium rare to perfection and melts like butter. If you are in between starters get the beef tartare. Worth every penny and the drive there
We loved our experience for my 30th birthday. The entire staff was very sweet and attentive, from cocktails to a complementary brownie bite with a candle to end the experience. Lots of local products used in the food, and seasonal offerings. I went with a local Sonoma duck dish, and was very pleased!
We may have overdone our ordering based on our ability to eat (including far too many goodies from the Bouchon Bakery), but the week has put these extras to good use. We look forward to our next visit!
Great experience! Food was amazing, service was top notch. Can’t wait to go back!
One of my favorite overall experiences anywhere and a must stop in Napa. Great staff, great food, great ambience. Always perfect food
The food was beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was impeccable and served at a leisurely pace, which allowed us to truly relish the experience. A fantastic restaurant not to be missed.
Excellent preparation of standard French cuisine. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Given time to enjoy each course (European style). Great wine list with some amazing bottles by the glass courtesy of Coravin.
This restaurant was very disappointing. The room was too noisy ,and you were sitting so close to the next table. It was difficult not to hear their conversation. The onion soup was very salty and so were the pomme frites. Definitely not worth the money.
Visit to wine country
Amazing on every level!
Visiting from out of town.
Forgot to deliver part of our order. Not even an I’m sorry. Short rib was tough not worthy of the restaurants reputation. 4 or 5 items no longer on the menu. It’s a paper menu. Change the menu. Disappointing patrons is not service.... delivering what’s on the menu to its greatest potential is.
Booked Bouchon for the visit to Napa wineries. Perfect place to have a quick lunch. From the dishes, we can feel the dedication the chef put into the food, despite it is only a “Ham &cheese “ dish.
We got off to a bad start as my wife brushed the nextdoor table which was about 7 inches between tables. A glass of wine flew on to the patron. The restaurant picked this up which we appreciate. But the tables are too close together. We had scallops and salmon dinners--both of which were very, very good, but not the best we have had. The risotto paired with the salmon was really good. The salmon was cooked rare as I ordered. The wine recommended was a 1/2 bottle Frogs Leap red blend. It was very good too. A mixed salad with goats cheese was ok. It was however only average. I had a scoop of banana and mango I believe Italian ice cream. It was just average. The service was good but the ambiance was just so-so. It was so noisy in the restaurant it was difficult to hear each other. I don't think the high prices ($225) justify us going there again. However, I would recommend it to others to try as I believe the food was pretty good.
Wonderful meal! A must go to when in town.
It honestly wasn’t worth the hype.
This restaurant should loss its star for its quality. While the restaurant does have a high-end atmosphere, but the taste & the service does not fit into its reputation as all. The price rage is reasonable, but I doubt that’s the excuse of the lack of freshness and quality. We ordered a seafood platter and the shrimp tastes like it was taken out from the freezer as least after five days. The tomato sauce was as clear & tasteless as water. Moreover, the wine selection is outrageously plain (it’s NAPA Valley after all, I expected some good wine)
When we politely told our server about the Seafood Platter, he agreed to take it off from our bill, and we were prepared to pay for it and be on our way.
But the drama came. The manager approached to our table, and began to inquiry us restlessly why we didn’t enjoy the food... I mean who asked those questions to their guests? when we told him it wasn’t fresh, he became extremely emotional, trying to convince us the food itself is flawless, and it was our fault we didn’t like it.
It made me laugh you know? I mean, if you are too proud to hear critics, then do not even ask your guest. if you did ask, then have some guts to take it. Nobody’s here to hear a lecture about your restaurant, we’d rather be convinced by your dishes please.
If you have to fail to provide that, how about some basic manners?
The bill ends up to be $103 & a remarkable horrible experience which almost ruined our trip to NAPA, I respect there might be various tastes in this world, but services? There must be an universal applied rule. I think they should train their stuff more carefully if they hadn’t already.
Do choose a different spot if you do not hate your dinner companion.
Excellent food and good service. The negative would be the tables are so close together that you are bumping into the people next to you, making it extremely uncomfortable. The tables are packed in so tightly that they literally have to move them for you to sit down. This also brings up the noise level so high it makes it difficult to have a conversation with the person across from you.
Charming as ever, effortless and professional. Food nearly as good, mussels a bit over done.
Service was all smiles and warm, but disconnected and slow, but saw you next time.
The food was excellent. It was worth the hour and forty-five minute drive. Make sure to get dessert!
Fantastic food and service. Very small dining area inside so prepare to be close to other patrons.
Our unplanned day trip was made outstanding by our lunch at Bouchon!
Worth it. We enjoyed the entire evening...food and service were amazing. We will be back.
Very good and delicious meal
Everything was very very good. Service was perfect though a little aggressive on the upselling, I get it - it is a nice restaurant. It was a busy night and we arrived 9 minutes late and I went to the front desk to apologize and was barked at by the woman at the front desk. That was strange - I almost turned around and left. In the end, we decided she may be misunderstood me? Thought I was complaining that they were late? I am not sure but it was a big put off. I think dealing with the public is hard and she was wound up but maybe she should have tempered her response a bit. After all I was coming to let her know I was late and I was sorry about that - had a weird google map misdirection. She just barked at me and said she would help me once she sat the other people waiting. I was not expecting anything else. Maybe she thought I was? Not sure.....
Absolutely stunning. A local favorite of ours, but this was new years day. We had such a fantastic time. Our server was top notch, and make wonderful wine and food pairing recommendations for us. The food, as always, was the best. We were there over 4 hours and were never made to feel rushed. A very special day, which we will remember for a long time. We will return again soon.
New Year’s Day
Pinot Noir from El Molino winery was wonderful, balanced flavors; Bouchon steak cooked perfectly, sturgeon in a tasty sauce , great meal.!
Rich, traditional preparations of classic French Brasserie dishes — as well as a few innovative creations — were perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and delivered with expert, attentive precision. Thoughtful and accessible wine list is representative of worldwide highlights, and offers numerous half bottles.
Can’t wait to return for another decadent indulgence.
As always, wonderful.
We are never disappointed when we come here. Service is always prompt and knowledgeable.
Their Chicken dish is to die for. Had it twice now and both time walked away thinking that was the best I’ve had. The service at Bouchon is unmistakably attentive and professional.
Overcooked and tasteless food. Rude waiter. Terrible experience after weeks of looking forward to this experience.
