About Bouchon - Santa Barbara

Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. I believe you’ll taste the difference and see how well they work together.
We believe Santa Barbara is producing some of the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Other locally produced varietals will surprise you with their quality, variety and approachability. Please ask your server for recommendations on how any of our 40+ wines by the glass match up with your selections. Bon Appètit!

Wonderful, we were there for my husband birthday and they had a card for him signed by the staff & rose petals at our table. A touch corny but we loved it, very romantic. The food and service were very impressive.

We shared the Duo of tartare appetizer, the French onion soup and each had the rack of lamb. Everything was phenomenal, especially the appetizer and soup. Would definitely recommend.

Great restaurant for our anniversary. The waitstaff was attentive but not overly so. The food was great - perfect in all aspects. Our waiter was passionate about food and wine. A nice evening!

Bouchon never disappoints! We've been dining at Bouchon for many years and they continue to provide innovative local/seasonal fare and a wine list heavy with Central Coast gems. Intimate restaurant. Great ambience, food and service. Thank you Bouchon.

Wow - one of the best meals I've had! We had local heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese, foie gras, duck house specialty, and scallop trio - every dish was amazing. great wine recommendations. they have a wine specially made to go with the house duck dish that was excellent. I also like that they will do a half pour of wine so that you can have good wine pairings even if you don't dink enough to have a glass with each dish. Service was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Love going to this restaurant, always a nice experience. The only thing I was disappointed with was the dessert. Got the chocolate molten lava cake, but when it arrived, it’s was FLAT. Being that this is such a nice restaurant and presentation is part of the experience, I felt that they should have replaced it. Funny thing is, another server came out with the same dessert which looked BEAUTIFUL.

I’ve eaten at Bouchon numerous times over many years and am never disappointed. The ambiance has a low-key elegance that’s still cozy, and the staff is professional but never pretentious. The food is always delicious and beautifully prepared. As a local, this remains one of my two favorites in Santa Barbara!

Bouchon was lovely. I don't drink but the others in my party had excellent help with tasting and choosing wine from a very thorough wine list. The food was excellent with a balanced menu to choose from. Lastly the ambience was great and allowed us to visit without noise disturbance from others. A great restaurant for an intimate dinner or a celebration.

Many people may really like this restaurant. But to us the food was good, but no better. My fish was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was bland. The dish overall did not have much flavor. The duck was dry. The atmosphere was elegant, but ventilation poor. The service wa excellent. Perhaps it was an off night.

A bit disappointing. Had a late reservation and I think the kitchen was getting ready to close or perhaps there was a sub chef but the duck I ordered was too well done and crispy on one side.

I’m double nickels so I’m not fond of how loud it is. I thought that sitting outside would help. Nope, as the night were on the bigger (louder) tables clear out and that helped. The funniest thing is the restroom is next door where the cork room is (the private dining room) so when my disabled husband went next door 20 people are standing in the tiny hallway it’s like an obstacle course. Can you imagine someone trying to use a wheelchair in that hallway? The staff are so kind and helpful. The onion soup and tomato salad are both good. The American wagyu beef is sooooo good so is the pork chop. The apple crisp is so so the ice cream on top of it was the greatest. I almost died when I was told no dirty martini beer & wine only👎. Still the food is good.

Our 5th time here!
Always an outstanding experience. Food is in the right amount, delicious, delicate, yet full of savor. Wine options are sound and with decent prices. A quite ambience with a friendly, attentive (not overwhelming) service makes this a perfect place for a cozy dinner. It will work also for a family gathering and even a romantic first-time!

We caught a last minute late reservation for our anniversary and were thrilled with Bouchon. Incredibly kind, fun, and attentive staff. Superb sommelier skills (that ‘98 Spottswoode was a as-promised knockout). Beautiful, exquisite food. And very generous pours of dessert wine, despite the late hour. We’ll be back the next time we’re in town for sure.

Bouchon is consistently amazing, delicious, innovative food. The roast venison was divine - flavorful, perfectly prepared, with savory sides of porcini bread pudding, Brussel sprouts, and yellow beet puree. As always, sitting on the patio, with impeccable service, enjoying a beautiful meal was a treat.

Maybe i have eaten at too many michelin starred restaurants. i found the food uninspiring. onion soup was water and onions. Not spiced as it should be. my pork chop was over cooked for medium, sliced and sat on the plate. The mustard sauce was overdone. it is a powerful flavor and was spread over everythng. Not good, not subtle. i was disappointed in the food. The ambience was fine, it was a bit warm I felt. The service was good, but the food was underwhelming. You can't just throw out terms like "farm to table", or "sustainable" and expect people to be impressed with your food. My wife's duck seemed pretty well done and was flavorful, but mine was overcooked, oversauced and overpriced for what you got.

Food was sub par. Worst duck confit I've ever had. French onion soup was the highlight, everything else was very poorly executed. Very disappointing. Wine selection good though. Waiter became very needy towards the end. When I told him what I thought of the duck he proceeded to tell me, oh the duck confit is meant to be dry...I've worked in Michelin star restaurants for most of my adult life.

Service was good. Food was not. Had waygu ribeye. Small, over cooked, sad looking vegetables.

Also had warm salad, too sour, overly soggy.

Creme bulee was cold, felt heated up frozen desert.

Bottomless line: not returning to this over hyped, over rated restaurant.
