Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. I believe you’ll taste the difference and see how well they work together.
We believe Santa Barbara is producing some of the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Other locally produced varietals will surprise you with their quality, variety and approachability. Please ask your server for recommendations on how any of our 40+ wines by the glass match up with your selections. Bon Appètit!

We were celebrating our anniversary in Santa Barbara. I just happened to find out about Bouchon by searching for good restaurants in the area. We didn't really know what to expect. We didn't realize that it is a restaurant based around the wines from the SB area. The food was fantastic! I got a salad with grilled nectarines. It was delicious. My husband's seared ahi tuna was out of this world. The star of the meal, in my opinion, was the scallop dish that features large diver scallops prepared three ways. It is one of the best dishes I have ever had! My husband loved his sea bass just as much. Bouchon is outstanding. You must try it if you are in Santa Barbara. Food is fantastic, it has a great intimate atmosphere and we had amazing service from Justin and all the staff.

My husband and I highly recommend Bouchon if you are in Santa Barbara. The food is amazing with a top notch staff. Our waiter Justin was superb! A wonderful dining experience in a cozy setting. The owner Mitchell is very warm and friendly. We went on a Monday night and the restaurant was rocking! I am so glad we went to Bouchon and plan to return when in the area!

Excellent food, especially the scallops appetizer and the duck entree. The strawberry baked Alaska was a wonderful surprise as well. The service was excellent and the ambience was elegant; would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Incredible staff that was friendly and attentive. They certainly know how to make you feel welcome and care about the reason why you are dining with them. The menu is fantastic with incredible flavor combinations that were unique and delicious. The suggestions from our waiter Marcus we great just like his service. The restaurant was busy, however we still felt appreciated and valued despite the busy kitchen and dining area. One of the best meals we had in Santa Barbara hands down!

We were visiting Santa Barbara and made a reservation based on positive online reviews. It was UCSB’s graduation weekend, so I was glad I made a reservation weeks ahead - they were extremely busy!
The restaurant has a very nice, cozy ambiance and the three of us were seated promptly. They have a nice selection of wines and we ordered a local red blend that we enjoyed. Bread was brought to the table and it was excellent - hot out of the oven. We started with two appetizers: pan seared foie gras and a mushroom ragout, which were both amazing! As a main course, we had the duck breast, venison, and sea bass. All were absolutely wonderful, but I would probably say the duck was the best. For dessert we shared the chocolate lava cake with raspberry purée and local McConnell’s vanilla bean ice cream. Wow! A nice glass of port complimemted the dessert. The service was excelkent and we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!

I went to Bouchon for the first time for my graduation celebration with my friends and family. This was probably the best dining experience I’ve ever had in Santa Barbara, and I have eaten at a lot of places. The food was outstanding, the service was incredible - and most importantly, they kept the wine flowing! This was such a special dinner and I felt like the staff at Bouchon made this the perfect evening for me.

We were here 2 years ago and loved it, so looked forward to returning. What a disappointment. We were totally rushed through dinner. The waiter told us we had to order both appetizer and main course at the same time - something to do with accommodating two large parties that were there. First course came just a few minutes after we ordered, then as soon as the last bite was taken, plates cleared and next course dropped off. My sea bass was totally raw in the center - not that I was even asked what temperature I wanted it. With 3 courses they had us out of there in an hour! We won’t be returning.

The food was very good and service was good. My only complaint was the restaurant was hot and when I asked the waiter to see if he could put the air on he said there was no AC unit (HVAC) in the restaurant. This was obviously not correct since there are vents all over plus the AC finally came on.

The food and wine were amazing but the service was horrible. Our waiter was completely inattentive and rarely checked on us. Our entrees took an hour to get to us to a point where multiple tables around us who sat after us were already being served deserts while we were still waiting for food. The whole time no one came over to apologize or check if we needed anything. To make matters worse the manager came over during that time to refill our waters and made a snarky remark that we were not ordering enough wine despite having ordered a bottle for the table when we sat down. Overall the food quality was fantastic but the service quality left a sour taste in our mouth.

We have been to Bouchon many times and each time reminds us why we return. From the very friendly and accommodating long time hostess to the very attentive service and outstanding food, Bouchon is a special place. For fine dining in the SB area Bouchon is one not to be missed.

Bouchon does not disappoint but neither does it soar. The food is good, the menu is ample, but there was nothing really special or unique on the menu. Each of the four of us had a different meal and everyone enjoyed there choice. It's nice for a quiet dinner or a special occasion.

Lyonnaise salad was quite mediocre. Had way too much vinegar. Greens/spinach were not prepared properly. You don’t put raw whole-leaf spinach leaves in a Lyonnaise. And the French would never serve the salad in such a bowl.

What a wonderful restaurant! Our waiter (Dillon) explained the wine list very thoroughly as well as the menu. He was patient and recommended half glasses of wine as opposed to full glasses. A splendid idea and worth it! I also loved the scallop samples for an appetizer and will consider myself as a return customer. Keep up the good work!

We celebrated our anniversary at Bouchon and they went out of their way to make it special. They called me prior to dinner to make sure that our names were spelled correctly, spread red rose petals on the table and comped us a fabulous chocolate dessert. Outstanding dining experience.

We continue to visit Bouchon every time we are in Santa Barbara. This time, for a signifiant wedding anniversary, we had a wonderful and memorable meal. We very presented with a 'special table' with a personal greeting and rose pedals. Just delightful. We dined on a nectarine salad, and had halibut and sea bass as main courses. All fresh, with select vegetables and creative seasonings and accents. Service was helpful, insightful - there when we wanted them, not there when we didn't. Perfect is an over-used phrase - but dining at Bouchon is 'perfect';.

Excellent food and service, everything was spot on. The Salad Layonaise was a subtle masterpiece and the venison was cooked to perfection. Crab cakes were delish and my wife’s local wild caught sea bass was also phenomenal. Can’t go wrong with Bouchon...
