Bouchon - Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. I believe you’ll taste the difference and see how well they work together.
We believe Santa Barbara is producing some of the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Other locally produced varietals will surprise you with their quality, variety and approachability. Please ask your server for recommendations on how any of our 40+ wines by the glass match up with your selections. Bon Appètit!
Perfect as always!
Sea bass was over cooked and on the dry side. I don't understand why they don't use proper wine glasses if you order by the glass versus by the bottle.
Great food and service. Loved the mushrooms, scallops and the baked Alaska. Worth the cost. Nice people.
The occasion was my birthday.
Server was quite cordial.
Service out of the kitchen was ..... INCREDIBLY SLOOOOOOOOW.......
Service between courses was ...... hours.....!!!!!
Sad.......good fooody friends from home in the SF Bay Area had highly recommended......
...... I would recommend Toma in Santa Barbara....... OUSTANDING!!!!!!!
Outstanding food, incredible service and venue!!!!!
Fantastic is every respect! The entire staff is very warm and makes you feel like you are part of the family. The food is always fantastic. Although there are some menu items that don't seem to change, their preparations actually adjust seasonally and never get stale. Wines are sourced from local SB area wineries and are very reasonably priced. This is most definitely worth a hundred mile drive from LA.....and we've made that drive specifically to dine ar Bouchon many times.
Service was outstanding along with amazing food. I would eat there again anytime.
Had the corn puree which was like a thin soup also had the ribeye steak which was extremely salty. The molten lava cake was extremely dry and crusty.

Very nice meal with good local wines & produce the heroes of the menu. Well presented & served. Wine by the glass but be aware sometimes the bottle may have been open too long. The new bottle was a very different wine to the glass poured from a previously opened one. We enjoyed the meal & the ambience.
Everything was lovely start to finish with one exception. The sea bass with couscous was very savory and tasty - but it was either overcooked or perhaps previously frozen. Good fish at $30 should be tender moist and flaky, not tough dry and chewy.
We have been there many many times, last night was packed, insanely hot inside the restaurant and slightly off. Just be careful in summer months, the inside of the restaurant gets unbearably hot.
Special in every way!
We had a wonderful meal, but the restaurant was extremely hot in the main dining area.
Our server, Tony, was excellent, and delightful, and the atmosphere was very nice. But, the food was not all it could've been. One person in our party ordered the rib eye medium and it came out VERY rare and not much of it for $. I ordered the pork loin, which was excellent, but, the side dish had entirely too much goat cheese in it, so much so that it overwhelmed the dish. But, overall, it was a nice place for a special occasion.
It was a busy night and they made you leave in like 2 hours
Service was slow but the food was awesome!!
The food was great! The service however broke down about an hour into our meal. They got busy and couldn't get the last of our meal or check to us. They also pack too many tables in there and it is pretty hot because they have an open kitchen.
I visited Bouchon with my 19 year old daughter.
The waiter helped make our experience special.
Food was excellent and we enjoyed our visit to Bouchon.
Romantico souvenir per non dimenticare Santa Barbara
Everything about Bouchon I love! From the warm greeting at the door, to the customized service, food, and wine pairings. All are impeccable. Although this is considered a upscale restaurant, they make you feel at home! Love this place been dining here for 19 years!
Multiple tables of crying babies and a wide range of diners from well dressed friendly people to people that looked like they just came from an all day hike and grouchy. Not the restaurants fault at all. The service from the staff was top notch.
Best dining experience end to end in all of Santa Barbara!
Expensive but worth every penny. Scallop trio is very well done, ok to share between 2 who dont mind going halvsies. The venison was spectacular. If you are going to pass on anything I say skip dessert, not nearly as good as everything else.
We celebrated a birthday at Bouchon, and it was great. Attentive service and wonderful food. We had a complicated group, with food allergies, a vegetarian and someone with celiac, and everyone was delighted. A lovely meal!
Incredible dining experience. The wine was exquisite!
Great food and great service! Willing to accommodate and create a special main course for a vegetarian and it did not disappoint.
We went with our friends who have been there many times. Just some of the items that were exceptional were.....Avocado toast, charred nectarines with arugula, lemon risotto (special) and the duck. Guess everything was exceptional since this is everything we ordered. The chef stopped by our table and told us all the ingredients in some of the items we ordered. Everything was complex but blended so well together. We would definitely return.
Bouchon is one of our favorite restaurants. Creative, excellent cuisine and wine list. Service is impeccable -- with a particular nod to Tony who always takes great care of us. A wonderful place to celebrate a nice occasion, or jus to have a really fine meal out.
We were visiting Santa Barbara for a business event which fell over our anniversary. We are so glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate. Our waiter Justin was great. Enthusiastic , knowledgeable about the menu and wines, attentive and personable. The food was very good. We had the scallop trio appetizer ,which was fantastic. My husband had the pork , I had the duck, prepared two ways. Both meals were delicious especially paired with a local wine. Finished the night with a blueberry/ lemon dessert. Rose petals on our table and a anniversary card were the special touches. Can’t wait to go back someday.
We were celebrating anniversary at the restaurant. They put rose petals on the table and a card addressed to us. Unlike other restaurants we visited in past years, there were no complimentary desserts offered.
Amazing food and service. Will definitely return.
Everything from the service to the food was fabulous. 5 star experience
Celebrated a very special birthday and the staff could not have been nicer! Appetizers were great as well as the entrees. The lamb was cooked to perfection (a tad too fatty for me) but the flavor was wonderful. We had another lamb taker and two terrific rib-eyes. Upon my inquiry at arrival before our birthday guy arrived, the hostess suggested a surprise dessert (baked Alaska) and at just a nod to our waiter he brought it out w/ impeccable timing. We ordered 3 other deserts with the highlight for me: the cheese plate. Excellent assortment and generous. It was a special evening. Great food, ambiance and attentive service.
Bouchon is one of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara. They specialize in what they call "wine country cuisine," which is very comparable to the higher-end California bistro fare of Napa/Sonoma up north-- that is, French-Mediterranean in its foundation, and utilizes all local ingredients, while never getting too experimental, very elegant with beautiful plating, and designed to be paired with the region's best wines. The service is top-notch, friendly, and knowledgeable. My wine pairings were excellent, and I sought out the wineries the next day in the Santa Ynez Valley. I really appreciated that they only poured (generous) half-glasses, as I requested, but also only charged me for half-glass pours. Every course was delicious.
Outstanding food with a very good wine list featuring local wineries. I had the roast chicken, cooked just perfectly, and served on a risotto with corn and fava beans. Beautiful combination.
Lovely and cozy and delicious little California/French restaurant in the heart of Santa Barbara! We showed up for dinner after a longgg day of wine tasting, super tired, and the staff took good care of us. The snapper and the lemon/blueberry dessert were amazing. Like lick the place amazing. Why is the food in So Cal so good???? Go here for a special occasion or date!
We were celebrating our anniversary in Santa Barbara. I just happened to find out about Bouchon by searching for good restaurants in the area. We didn't really know what to expect. We didn't realize that it is a restaurant based around the wines from the SB area. The food was fantastic! I got a salad with grilled nectarines. It was delicious. My husband's seared ahi tuna was out of this world. The star of the meal, in my opinion, was the scallop dish that features large diver scallops prepared three ways. It is one of the best dishes I have ever had! My husband loved his sea bass just as much. Bouchon is outstanding. You must try it if you are in Santa Barbara. Food is fantastic, it has a great intimate atmosphere and we had amazing service from Justin and all the staff.
My husband and I highly recommend Bouchon if you are in Santa Barbara. The food is amazing with a top notch staff. Our waiter Justin was superb! A wonderful dining experience in a cozy setting. The owner Mitchell is very warm and friendly. We went on a Monday night and the restaurant was rocking! I am so glad we went to Bouchon and plan to return when in the area!
Divine food, great atmosphere
Excellent food, especially the scallops appetizer and the duck entree. The strawberry baked Alaska was a wonderful surprise as well. The service was excellent and the ambience was elegant; would highly recommend for a special occasion.
