Bouchon remains the best special occasion restaurant in Santa Barbara.
We went for a special date night and the decor and ambiance was very intimate. Our waiter was attentive but not too pushy, and the food was fantastic! Beautiful restaurant.
Absolutely amazing meal. Went with open mind, trusted our server and were very impressed. Thanks for accomodating the last minute addition of our daughter.
Our dinner was one of the finest dining experiences we can remember. Consider that I have been in hospitality for 30 +years. Creative menu, wonderfully executed, terrific atmosphere, great hosts, comfortable friendly, attentive service, wonderfully executed wine list and we loved the night. They’re very attentive, and genuinely concerned about your dining experience.
Can’ Say enough. To Mitchell and team, look forward to our next visit. Thanks so much
My husband and I were in town celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I wasn’t really expecting anything that special, just wanted to be seated at a table that was in a quiet spot. (We are usually yelling over the kids at dinner just to speak to each other). When we arrived the hostess greeted us warmly and congratulated us on our anniversary and showed us to a nicely decorated table for two with flowers and a candle and a nice card personalized and signed by all the staff (managers, executive chef etc). I’m not one to make a big deal about things... but it was actually really a pleasant surprise and very thoughtful. Btw, the cork wall was such a neat play on the whole wine cork thing and I’m sure it has some acoustic properties as well.
Our server was Louie and he was very friendly and made sure not to rush us (as I’m a pretty indecisive person!) we ended up going with the trio of scallops and it was paired with a great wine. Its nice to hear the story behind the wines and It’s also nice when a server knows which wines the patron might enjoy based on how the customer describes their tastes, so thanks Louie!
I had the wagyu ribeye and my husband had the sea bass (bless his heart, he actually wanted the lamb... but I don’t like lamb and he wanted me to try some of his dish)
My ribeye was perfect and delicious of course! The sea bass was kinda no comparison to my ribeye, it was ok... but the rib eye was great! To finish, I had the lemon blackberry upside down cake and he had the chocolate molten cake... which didn’t ooze, but still was delicious! We had such a lovely evening. I had been wanting to check it Bouchon for a while, and I’m so glad we finally had the chance to try it out. Can’t wait to visit again soon!
Bouchon Santa Barbara has become a traditional spring friend’s destination for my friends travel group. Superb food and wine, welcoming people, excellent service. Love the foodie stroll through the Santa Barbara farmer’s market and wine pairing dinner too! We will be back.
We love the restaurant and it has the best duck in town. It's always friendly and the servers
I went to Bouchon for my 2 year anniversary and the food and the ambiance were great! We even received a personalized card for the occasion as well as rose petals on the table in celebration of us. We had the scallops and the crab cakes appetizers and both were delicious! The scallops were perfectly cooked and huge. I had the sea bass and my boyfriend ordered the wagu ribeye and we both really enjoyed our meal. For dessert we had the baked Alaska which did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend Bouchon and look forward to going back!
We were in Santa Barbara for the weekend celebrating my wife's birthday. I looked up restaurant reviews at several sites and Bouchon was on every list. Dinner was lovely, ambiance was elegant casual, food was excellent, service was attentive, wine recommendation was great. Wonderful experience. Would go again in a heartbeat.
It was amazing! All around! Couldn’t ask for a more perfect meal. Location was great and staff was great. I’d love to go back. :-)
Hostess was very friendly and so was waiter. Reasonable wine and food pricing. Great evening!
Great food. Great dessert - go for the lemon upside down cake.
A fabulous meal and the service was superb!
Our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara. We have come here for my birthday for each of the past 3 years. The food and service are outstanding.
This year, I tried a kubocha squash soup. It was a bit thin. The pork shank entree was excellent.
Hubby had his usual French onion soup and duck confit.
We look forward to dining here again.
Fabulous food in a lovely setting, made even better by a wonderful and knowledgeable server!
Perfect place to celebrate a significant others birthday
Our starters were just fine. Pleasant friendly service. Great ambience. But my wife found her main course (Chicken) all to be unpleasantly salty (to our British tastes). My duck was initially very cool and far too rare. When I sent it back, it became disappointingly chewy. Now - I was very impressed with the attitude of the restaurant. They were apologetic and didn't charge me for that course - so full marks to them for service attitude. But the food was sadly a disappointment
We love this place and the food and the staff!
We went to Bouchon’s To celebrate a birthday! The ambience is always great. The service is special and the food is delicious. We weren’t disappointed!
We went here for our anniversary and the food and service were awesome! Dylan was the best waiter and his knowledge of wines was amazing.
I love the host and everyone knows that the day is 3 month anniversary for my boyfriend and I. Even prepared a card for me. Thanks a lot!
The duck tastes amazing!
Our meal was delicious! The meal started with the best bread I've eaten in years. We both enjoyed soup to start--me squash and the other guest the French onion. I'm a vegetarian and the chef made me my own plate, which was hearty and filling and fantastic. It was worlds above the afterthought veggie pasta that often comes when I ask the chef for a vegetarian plate elsewhere. I was impressed and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals!
Food was excellent but the service was disappointing. The server took 30 minutes to approach our table then despite the fact that we alerted the server of a performance time, we didn’t get our food in a timely manner. We were 20 minutes late to the performance. Very disappointing am unsure if I will eat there again before a performance.
Average food at high prices
Absolutely incredible. Have nothing negative to say about this restaurant. I was beyond pleased!!
My husband treated me to dinner at Bouchon for my birthday, and I could not have been more pleased. Top-shelf dining experience. Excellent food, attentive and knowledgeable waiter, friendly staff, and exquisite food presentation. We have dined at restaurants all over the world, and at many in Santa Barbara as well, and this met or exceeded our greatest expectations. We will be back.
We dined at Bouchon on our return from a recent trip south. We didn’t quite know what to expect, but we were pleased. It’s not in any way related to Thomas Keller’s Bouchons, but it would hold up equally well. We were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. It was Sunday night and not busy when we first arrived; it was full by the time we left. The waiter was helpful and we dived into the menu, sampling French four onion soup, mixed green salad and salad lyonnaise for starters; the crispy skin Pacific salmon, free-range chicken, and maple glazed duck breast and confit of thigh for main courses; and the blackberry lemon upside down cake and crème brulee for dessert. The only quibble we would have with the food is that the serving size on the chicken dish was paltry, whereas the duck was enormous. The wine list focuses on Santa Barbara wine country and it is extensive. We had a fabulous 2012 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir. We enjoyed it very much and will plan to return on our next trip through Santa Barbara.
We came with a group of 6 that included a vegan, a gluten-free diner and a beer-lover. All were very happy, including those of us without special dining requirements. It was lively but not overly loud, the food was incredible, the ambiance cozy.
Delicious once again! Love the food! Would definitely recommend. We are. Vegetarian and the chef prepared two amazingly ne vegetarian dishes.
The waiter was knowledgeable on the wine list and very good. The food was just average, nothing special for the money
Bouchon was a little expensive, but very good. The crab cakes were perfect. My daughter's pork shank was very tasty and, as the waiter promised, fell off the bone, it was so tender. My ribeye was delicious, as was our lemon/berry cake with ice cream. We were most impressed with the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The opera lasted a little long so we were about 20 minutes late for our reservation, but the hostess was delightful. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Overall a lovely experience.
Wonderful evening dinning here with friends. We were quite impressed with our meal and service.
A classy, but unpretentious dining experience extraordinaire! If you want to be treated right both in service and quality cuisine, this is a great choice. Always a top-notch dining experience and this time was no exception. Good portions. Quality experience. Highest recommendation.
My cousin and I went in to participate in Santa Barbara Restaurant Week. We had a three course tasting menu with a variety of amazing choices. The food was spectacular. Our waiter helped us find a wine that was to our taste and it was incredible. I will definitely be back for additional meals.
My husband and I came here before the opera, and from the moment we walked in we were taken so well care of. Out server Tony was a consummate professional - excellent service, excellent timing, excellent recommendations, and attentive to every detail. He had wonderful recommendations and the food was outstanding. We had the Foxen Pinot from Sta Rita Hills and the mushroom ragout for app, duck and ribeye for dinner. No dessert, but will be back. Tony timed it so we would make the curtian call - it got a little rushed at the end, but he took great care of us. Awesome local cuisine, excellent, flavorful food that tasted outstanding, excellent wine, and the ambiance on the patio was warm, romantic and cozy. We will be back again for sure!
My dinner started out strong with a very good pecan goat cheese tart and my main dish of salmon with potatoes was very good as well. The dessert I chose -- blackberry lemon cake with lemon and marionberry ice cream -- was just sweet, that was the main flavor..."sweet." It was too sweet for me and I have the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I know. My date's meal was so-so. He ordered the French onion soup, the duck breast (which had vegetables that were flavorless), and then cream brulee (which was way too burnt on top, and not in that good burnt way).
A wonderful meal beautifully presented. SB Restaurant week menu was wonderful - great choices. Excellent service and great wine too. Thoroughly recommended.
Excellent service, excellent food. Parking can be very difficult.
Everything was great!! Thank you so much!!
Very good food, service and atmosphere. A pleasant noise level that allows one to hear your tables conversation which is unusual for most restaurants.
