Bouchon - Santa Barbara
Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace. Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. We believe you’ll taste the difference. Bon Appètit!

Excellent experience. Everything was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Excelente comida, fue una cena de familia. 4 platillos de primer nivel, sobre todo el short rib y sea bass. Gran lugar
Great ambiance and service!
Excellent service, amazing food!!!
The duck was exquisite.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Always a treat to dine at Bouchon. We will definitely be back.
Morgan was an amazing waiter as we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Bouchon last night but the food was very disappointing.
Our server, Lucas, was amazing, professional and friendly. His food and wine recommendations were perfect and pleasing to my palate. We will return soon.
we had a great dinner
their bread was wonderful
The Bistro Beef Duo was excellent, the Tartare was well balance and the bread with bone marrow was to die for
Steaks were great,
the sea bass was bland, could have done with some more flavor
My dessert Warm Blackberry Lemon upside down cake was awesome
Wait staff was very attentive
wines were excellent
One of the better meals I’ve ever had. Was amazing from start to finish, service was fantastic too.
The pandemic has been rough on all restaurants, but as we start to open up many places are still cutting corners. Bouchon delivered our first outstanding dinner out in two years.
Really outstanding food and service. Great selection of local and regional wines.
We have been here multiple times and generally book one night out of 3-4 here. A bit disappointed. The food was good, though not exceptional as it has been in the past. My wife asked for a smaller portion of the crab cake appetizer; they declined. While this is understandable, the dish arrived cool. My appetizer was quite good (the summer squash puree which was actually a soup) but my main was good but not great. Our server was excellent with respect to attentiveness and congeniality but his hands (specifically his nails) needed cleaning. We love this restaurant for the memorable meals it has provided through the years and so will likely give it another chance; another night like the this one and it will drop off our "must do" list. Recommending it to friends would come with reservations.
Excellent food, service and ambience ( we dined outdoors). Waiter very experienced and helpful. Outdoor seating was quaint and conducive to good conversation. We were not rushed which was very nice. Would go back again.
Lovely setting, wonderful service, amazing food, attentive staff. Just superb all the way around.
Outstanding service but was disappointed by lobster pot pie. No lobster flavor
Our server, Dylan, guided us through a really great meal complete with an excellent wine pairing and organization of courses so we would have time to enjoy and space to do so. I love the wine suggested; he went above and beyond to help us understand the wine region near by how to visit the wine we tasted. Server was honest about what was possible Le- we wanted to eat it all, and open with guidance to maximize the experience. The food was perfect- fresh, flavorful, surprising but not overdone. If you only try one place in Santa Barbara this is the one.
Outstanding food! Service was amazing. Wine list is very unique.
Our server Dominick was excellent, personable, polite, attentive and knowledgeable of all aspects of the menu. Highly recommended.
Good intentions, bad execution. We didn't know that it's not part of Thomas Keller restaurants. Nto enough flavour, bad techniques, rib eye is definitely not a wagyu ribeye, probably a cheap sirloin cut.
We had a wonderful experience. It was my partner’s birthday. They gave him a card and a candle on his dessert. The food was excellent. One of the best meals we have had in months! Will definitely come back when visiting Santa Barbara.
Awesome service, ambiance, and excellent meals. This is a must when visiting this area for a special occasion.
Always solid. Would like to see them add specials to the menu.
We were actually quite disappointed with our meals at Bouchon. My friend and I both had the duck, the confit was quite salty, while the breast lacked taste. The sauce was supposed to be a maple glaze, but tasted more like burnt coffee. Another friend had sea bass, which also lacked taste. The fourth guest had chicken and said it was fine.
For a restaurant which such a high rating we were rather disappointed.
We highly recommend the scallops as a starter, the duck as an entree, and the blackberry lemon upside down cake for dessert. Our waiter selected our wines for course pairings. Magnifique!
Loved the service and Lobster pot pie is Amazing… And a serenade
I can’t believe that Santa Barbara is my hometown and last night was my first time at this gem of a place. The food was amazing .... wine recommendations were perfect....service was on point....a lovely experience!
Overrated! Average food, service and ambiance, high prices.
The food was great. The service was attentive, but the time to get our early dinner was excruciatingly slow. We went early to be in and out and left without dessert after 2:15 hours. We would go back happily hoping that this comment has some impact on improving timeliness from the kitchen.
From time we arrived and seated promptly (we had a reservation) we had a very enjoyable dining experience the staff was knowledgeable and friendly and really know their cuisine which was excellent we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary that night and it was one to remember
We had a wonderful experience at Bouchon. We have eaten there several times in the past 10 years whenever we visit the Santa Barbara area and it lived up and exceeded expectations. The waiter and sommelier were friendly and helped us pick a wonderful local Pinot Noir. The first course was Roasted Celery Root soup, and was delicious, flavored well and very nice. The second course was Chef Greg’s choice as he created a vegetarian entree for us. The grilled cauliflower and fennel on a bed of summer vegetable succotash with a balsamic reduction and green sauce was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked.
We sat outside in the covered roadside tent set up for Covid but it was very comfortable and pleasant.
Went for my husbands 50th and it was amazing. I ordered the sea bass and it was not as exciting as I expected so they removed the charge even though I ate it all. Really appreciate it! Will go back for sure for any occasion or none :)
Very friendly service, food delicious and the dessert excellent.
Great restaurant. Food and service were outstanding
The restaurant is serving all the main dishes I love. I will definitely come back to try them all.
Our evening could not have been better! We were greeted with a happy anniversary card and rose petals at our table from the owners and staff. The food was extraordinarily good and not overpriced. We are fairly light eaters and drinkers and did not feel the least bit pressured to order more than we did. You won't want to pass up the Crème brûlée for dessert though, no matter how full you are.
I loved our table; I guess it was the patio, not inside per se but not outside/street side. It felt appropriately special where we were, given our anniversary celebration.
Thanks Bouchon for the lovely evening!
Outstanding experience over all! Bouction'S staff made our anniversary.
The service team really knows the wine list and the menu. The pace of service can be a little quick. We’re hoping the extended street dining area is made permanent by the SB city council.
Bouchon was amazing, when we let them know we were coming for our anniversary they took it to heart. Rose petals on the table with a customized letter welcoming us. Service was great and the food was prepared promptly. Could ask for much more!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent wine, excellent ambiance
