Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We had a wonderful experience. It was my partner’s birthday. They gave him a card and a candle on his dessert. The food was excellent. One of the best meals we have had in months! Will definitely come back when visiting Santa Barbara.

We were actually quite disappointed with our meals at Bouchon. My friend and I both had the duck, the confit was quite salty, while the breast lacked taste. The sauce was supposed to be a maple glaze, but tasted more like burnt coffee. Another friend had sea bass, which also lacked taste. The fourth guest had chicken and said it was fine.
For a restaurant which such a high rating we were rather disappointed.
We highly recommend the scallops as a starter, the duck as an entree, and the blackberry lemon upside down cake for dessert. Our waiter selected our wines for course pairings. Magnifique!

I can’t believe that Santa Barbara is my hometown and last night was my first time at this gem of a place. The food was amazing .... wine recommendations were perfect....service was on point....a lovely experience!
Overrated! Average food, service and ambiance, high prices.
The food was great. The service was attentive, but the time to get our early dinner was excruciatingly slow. We went early to be in and out and left without dessert after 2:15 hours. We would go back happily hoping that this comment has some impact on improving timeliness from the kitchen.
From time we arrived and seated promptly (we had a reservation) we had a very enjoyable dining experience the staff was knowledgeable and friendly and really know their cuisine which was excellent we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary that night and it was one to remember
We had a wonderful experience at Bouchon. We have eaten there several times in the past 10 years whenever we visit the Santa Barbara area and it lived up and exceeded expectations. The waiter and sommelier were friendly and helped us pick a wonderful local Pinot Noir. The first course was Roasted Celery Root soup, and was delicious, flavored well and very nice. The second course was Chef Greg’s choice as he created a vegetarian entree for us. The grilled cauliflower and fennel on a bed of summer vegetable succotash with a balsamic reduction and green sauce was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked.
We sat outside in the covered roadside tent set up for Covid but it was very comfortable and pleasant.
Went for my husbands 50th and it was amazing. I ordered the sea bass and it was not as exciting as I expected so they removed the charge even though I ate it all. Really appreciate it! Will go back for sure for any occasion or none :)

Our evening could not have been better! We were greeted with a happy anniversary card and rose petals at our table from the owners and staff. The food was extraordinarily good and not overpriced. We are fairly light eaters and drinkers and did not feel the least bit pressured to order more than we did. You won't want to pass up the Crème brûlée for dessert though, no matter how full you are.
I loved our table; I guess it was the patio, not inside per se but not outside/street side. It felt appropriately special where we were, given our anniversary celebration.

The service team really knows the wine list and the menu. The pace of service can be a little quick. We’re hoping the extended street dining area is made permanent by the SB city council.
Bouchon was amazing, when we let them know we were coming for our anniversary they took it to heart. Rose petals on the table with a customized letter welcoming us. Service was great and the food was prepared promptly. Could ask for much more!

We appreciated the restaurant accommodating my request for a quiet table & acknowledging our anniversary. Wine list is great & the food is very solid, although the lobster in the lobster pot pie was a bit overcooked & slightly rubbery. Overall, a very nice special occasion meal.
Dinner was amazing. We had superb service, attentive staff, and a nice table on the outside patio. The food was delicious, and perfect portion sizes. I highly recommend this place!

We absolutely loved our meal at Bouchon! The service was outstanding. I cannot say enough about how well taken care of while we dined there. Our server recommended perfect wine pairings for our family, even as we threw some curveballs with multiple dishes. And the food-so on point! From our first course to dessert we were wowed. Definitely get the scallop three ways for a starter. You won’t be sorry! If we are ever back in town this will be a stop for us.

We wrote in our reservation that we were celebrating a wedding with our son and his new bride.
They got that right and acknowledged the celebration.

BUT the service was in attentive, forgetful and not apologetic.
After asking three times for a drink it came out 20 minutes later. Wine glasses were not attended to and a bottle of Champaign sent to the table NEVER arrived.
Unfortunately I left a 20% tip before I learned of the Champaign mis-step.
So close to a perfect dinner, but fell flat with poor and inattentive service.

Morgan! Morgan! Morgan! And all staff! My husband wanted to take me here weeks before and didn’t realize how easily this restaurant is booked up. We booked it and waited three weeks. It was worth it! Beautiful menu, beautiful food and excellent service. My only complaint is that I wish I could’ve ordered and tried more of the menu. And I wish I could have had a glass of wine. I’m 7 mos pregnant, so Next time! My favorite part was the berry lemon upside down cake and ice cream. HEAVEN. Please tell Morgan he’s an amazing server!!! (From the girl with the lemon 🍋 tattoo)
Very good service. Lukas was a very good host. The food was good and price was very normal. We enjoyed it very much. It was worth the drive.

We remember Bouchon from a couple years ago. It’s a different restaurant now. Nothing special. Mediocre at best food, 0 ambiance and fair service. It was our 46 anniversary and they gave us no special attention or even little treats. We are not going back…too bad…
Food was delicious I highly recommend the scallop trio as that was hands down our favorite dish. Lemon upside down cake was also something to write home about! Dominic our server was very knowledgeable on the wine list and took great care of us the whole night.
Excellent service and very substandard food is a summary of our experience. Both the duck and the lobster "pot pie" were substandard as was the creme brulee. Especially given the reviews and cost, it did not even come close to the expectations set.
Second time to Bouchon but it’s been over 10 years in between. We were seated in the covered patio out front, which was not unexpected due to Covid, but they managed to make the ambiance quite charming and comfortable. Excellent service from start to finish-very professional and unobtrusive. The meal itself was excellent starting with the smoky seared yellowfin and scallops trio - both excellent. My wife really enjoyed the duck duo which is remarkable as she doesn’t often order duck. I had the char grilled rack of lamb which was done exactly as requested (medium-rare but more on the rare side) - the chickpea purée complimented the dish well except that there was quite a lot of it. Excellent local wine selection and great dessert (warm lemon-berry cake) rounded out an excellent dining experience. Definitely continue to recommend Bouchon - a notch above the others in Santa Barbara.
