Fresh, local ingredients, prepared with care. Excellent wines that reflect the quality and character of our region and work in concert with the cuisine. Warm, inviting ambiance, service at a relaxed, leisurely pace. Santa Barbara ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ means we source our ingredients using an ‘as-fresh-and-as-local-as-possible’ approach, with fish from the Santa Barbara Channel and produce from the surrounding countryside. We then take into account how these flavors can be presented in concert with our local wines. We believe you’ll taste the difference. Bon Appètit!

Nice setting. We ate at their open patio area. There is additional outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. Skip the onion soup. It was rather flavorless. The crab cakes, the sea bass and the duck were all excellent. We had a pleasant romantic anniversary dinner.

The onion soup tasted like water so we ended up getting a salad which was basically $22 for a couple of slices of not great tomatoes. However on the plus side the duck dish was absolutely delicious. And we really wanted dessert but they did not have the flavor of ice cream that was printed on the menu so we ended up not getting it.

Overall the food is good. It was just a bit pricey but consider it being in downtown santa barbara, it is not so bad. The duck was my favorite.

My husband and I were in SB for the weekend and went to Bouchon for our anniversary. The outside dining area was beautifully done, the ambiance was great, and service was impeccable. They decorated our table with rose petals and had a nice note from the owners wishing us a happy anniversary. We started with the trio of Sea Scallops and they were all amazing! I highly recommend this dish. For dinner, I had the Rack of Lamb and my husband had the Duck. The preparations were done beautifully, and the dishes were delicious.

I enjoyed the most amazing birthday dinner with my spouse. We were seated at an outdoor table as requested. The table was located in a very upscale parklet with Pergo-style flooring, designer drapes, and market lights. At my table, I was greeted by a handwritten birthday note surrounded by rose petals our server Dominic could not have been more helpful. Normally I don’t drink but wanted to celebrate with a glass of wine. Dominic made a recommendation and offered to have me taste it. It turned out to be too dry for my unsophisticated palate so he offered an alternative which I ordered. My spouse said the butternut squash soup (a dish that he is known for making at family gatherings) was the best he’s ever had and he loved the king salmon entree and brussel sprouts. I really liked enjoyed the Tutti Frutti Farms heirloom tomato salad and the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection. We ended our meal with the warm lemon tart accompanied by McConnell’s marionberry ice cream. It was a wonderful way to spend my birthday and I hope to dine there again. Highly recommend!

David was amazing and made a birthday even more special! Great recommendations and all around attitude! Lobster Pot Pie 🤤 We also felt so special to have Michael (the owner) stop by our table to say hello and have a wonderful chat. We hope Bouchon can keep the outside seating permanently. The Arlington added to the atmosphere and it was still quiet enough even though Victoria is a busy street. We can’t wait to come back!

Food was delicious. We had the duck and sea bass. The outside seating was subpar. We ate at 4 restaurants in Santa Barbara with outdoor seating and each one had much more atmosphere, with the same type of space.
The food and service wee great.

I was somewhat disappointed on this trip ( my 5th) to Bouchon. The lamb was over cooked and not very flavorful. The duck was nothing special even though our waiter said it was their signature dish. Plus it was so dark inside we couldn’t see our food! Service was very good, as usual. We will try them one more time. Perhaps this was an off night.

We’d canceled trips to the Italian riviera before planning a road trip in California. Sun, surf, swim. Food, wine, fun. Bouchon Santa Barbara did not disappoint. We’ve enjoyed other Thomas Keller restaurants, so we knew what to expect. It couldn’t have been a more wonderful evening. Go!

Beautiful restaurant, perfect waiter who knew everything about the menu. My family ad I celebrated my birthday and I am so glad we did! I was surprised that it was n’y affiliated with Thomas Keller’s BOUCHON (as I’ve been to the French Laundry) but the food quality, selection and service is quite up to Michelin star requirements! Even the locals said it was a 5 star restaurant and reservations were difficult to get. The prices are extremely fair for what you get. The dress code had most men in collared shirts and ladies in summer dresses. I would recommend to any foodie or person looking for a lovely, yet casual, relaxing 5-star worthy experience. I will definitely be back.

Our first trip. We were seated quickly. Service was consistently excellent. The steak tartare was superb as well as the accompanying bone marrow. The tomato appetizer also excellent. The scallops trio was very good. The lobster puff pastry was disappointing — large pieces of tough, tasteless lobster, too many potatoes, and a sauce that really didn’t mesh with the dish. Perhaps more cream, fewer potatoes, and a richer sauce? I know it wasn’t a ‘thermidor’ presentation but I was expecting a sauce inside that was creamy and tasty on its own. Dessert was very good but short of excellent. Wine choices were excellent. We will definitely return when next in Santa Barbara.

Nice restaurant but the food was average at best. These are classic dishes that we expected to all be well executed and delicious being from a Thomas Keller restaurant.
Chicken dish : tough chicken and lacked and imagination. The potatoes where fair at best . Would not recommend
Sea bass : the most successful dish and excellent flavor
Rack of lamb: medium rare as ordered but the meat was chewy and tough. My wife had this and she usually always enjoys lamb but she left half her plate
Lobster pot pie: not awesome but perfectly fine . Would say it could use a bit more stuffing
Medley of mushrooms : nice dish but clearly under salted and lacked flavor. I had the salad but was fine but uninspired. The best appetizer was the trio of tomatoes which was well designed and tasty. The desserts we had where excellent and the service was also very good. Overall a nice restaurant but would not return because of the food. Maybe there short in the kitchen possibly because I know people that have dined at bouchob in Napa and they consistently say the food is excellent.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was surprised by lackluster service, high wait times and unavailable items. Our waiter was rude at each interaction and forgot our requests multiple times. Unfortunately will not be returning here, especially not for a special occasion.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Bouchon at a lovely outdoor table. We were surprised and delighted to find our table decorated with fresh rose petals and a lovely card from the restaurant. The service was gracious and impeccable, and the food was perfectly prepared. This is the perfect place to celebrate!
