   Lovely restaurant, with nice decor and ambience, but most importantly excellent food and service. A real find in Hexham. Only negative was they must be the only restaurant I've ever been to that doesn't accept contact less payment. I've stopped carrying cards as I use Google pay, luckily my wife had a card.

   Always perfect. The ideal French bistrot, really seriously good classical French cooking, nothing fussy - just good. Nice ambience, quietish, but could get noisy if full.

    Lovely restaurant with a nice ambiance and excellent service. The staff are friendly and really make an effort to ensure that your visit is perfect. The menu offers a great choice of delicious food and excellent wines. Strongly recommend for either a relaxing lunch or a special evening out.

    I went to Bouchon Bistrot for a mid-week birthday lunch celebration for my father, a place that he had read about and really wanted to try. It certainly lived up to his expectations and we had a really lovely meal. I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked followed by the sea trout. My dad had the cheese souffle and the cassoulet which he said was delicious. The portions were generous so there was no need to order a side dish. We were both pretty full but couldn't resist the tarte tartin which we shared. Our waiter was attentive, our meals were served promptly. Overall it was a lovely experience and would definitely recommend for a special lunch.

    Always excellent! Today our lunch was excellent plus!!! Starters are lovely and today’s celeriac and truffle soup was no exception! Our main choice of roasted chicken breast with leeks and mushrooms in a red wine jus was worthy of many superlatives! To simply say that it was delicious, doesn’t do it justice! It was simply superb! Such a special restaurant!

    Our lunch on Tuesday was excellent. Very friendly and attentive service and beautifully cooked food! Lovely ambiance, very spacious too. We look forward to another visit when we next come to Hexham.

    We were a party of 5 and without exception every part of our meal was superb. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly without being too over attentive and we all had a truly lovely evening . We will be back .

    Starters were amazing, perfect size and delicious. Scallops were lovely and fresh. Cheese soufflé looked and smelt great. Mains were very tasty with the confit duck particularly well presented. Desserts were a suitable finale of fruity goodness (apple tarte tatin). Definitely dune here again.

    A regular visit to our favourite restaurant. The food was excellent throughout and we ended with tarte Tatin which we love. The house white was right up our street. Ended with coffee. We will be back soon.

    This is a lovely authentic French restaurant, the staff are friendly and efficient , it’s got a nice atmosphere and it’s not too noisy which we like , the wife and I decided to go for the 3 course set menu and we weren’t disappointed the food was superb in particular the dessert , the owner made sure that he thanked us as we were leaving which was a nice touch , I told him everything was 5 star as far as we were concerned and our review would reflect this

    A great evening to celebrate a birthday with fabulous food, friendly and efficient service in a lovely environment. This was our first visit after reading the great reviews and thought we would try it. All 3 thoroughly enjoyed their choices with no one disappointed with any course, 2 choosing 3 courses from the main menu and 1 from the 3 course fixed price menu. One thing is for sure it was definitely worth the 70 mile round trip and we will definitely be back soon!

    My wife and i come dine here every few weeks because the food and experience is so consistentlty excellent. The Monkfish cheeks i had as a starter on our last visit was superb and something i had not had before. I have to say that dining here represents great value for money . The only thing we think could be improved would be the bread offered . Perhaps a choice of buns

    Great restaurant. Had the tablé de hôte, which is good value. The dessert was wonderful (pear cooked in red wine and served with gingerbread cream). The steak frites was good, especially the jus. The soup du jour however was strictly average. I wouldn’t let this put you off though. The place is a real find and well worth the visit.

    The menu is regularly updated so there is generally something new to try. This time it was apple and rhubarb sorbets. Visit over the winter and try the venison, it’s an underrated meat which is ignored by many restaurants. The waiting staff are all young and actually seem happy to be there. We have been coming here for several years now and it is without doubt our favourite restaurant.
