Bouchard Restaurant and Inn Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I have been going to Bouchard for decades. I do not know how they continue to improve. However, our experience last week was better than ever! The food was, as always, fantastic, complemented by extraordinary service. For my vote, the best restaurant in the state, and could hold its own in Paris.
This is our all time favorite restaurant in Newport. French accent on the food. Staff are exceptional. Dan and Max and support staff, plus talented chef Jessica. Smallish place, more the smart casual/business attire/ “dress” clothes. But people often come with friends and have fun too.
After hearing only amazing things about this restaurant I was surprised at our experience. Service was slow and when our entrees finally came out my husbands steak he requested at medium rare, was well done! My salmon dish was amazing, but everyone else's were ok. Maybe since we were there at the end of restaurant week they were tired but was disappointing.
Absolutely love this place. The food is always great. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a romantic getaway we always look forward to celebrating with family. This time around it was my wife’s birthday. They were very accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for us. Service is always professional and always make us feel welcomed. Because the food is so good I always leave there wishing I could have eaten more. While the portions aren’t always huge they are always satisfying. I’ve never left hungry, but always left wishing I could have had enough to eat it again the next day. They know haw to prepare the dish that is appealing and satisfying to the eye. It make you want to try new things and eat everything. Please make a point to try this restaurant you won’t be disappointed. I give the place a five out of five because it’s so worth it. Enjoy!
My boyfriend and I have been coming once a year for the past four years and absolutely love it! It is a wonderful treat to ourselves and Captain Max, Carmen and the hostesses are very lovely! I had the duck this year during Restaurant Week (which was a suggestion from Captain Max) and it was heavenly and my boyfriend had the soup with shrimp which was just as good. We'll surely be back!
Thank you as always!
Bouchard’s never fails to get it right. Service is always perfect...thank you Max as well as other servers who are discreet as well as pleasant and helpful. The pork roast wrapped in phyllo dough was out of this world. Stuffed with goat cheese and spinach as well. Both the pate and escargot were wonderful as well. This is a special occasion place for us. If you love fine French food with perfect sauces, this is your spot. Everyone is treated with the same respect too. Pricy but worth it once in a while for a special treat. We will be back
My husband and I stayed at the Inn and had dinner there for our Anniversary. We will definitely be going back. The restaurant was Beautiful and the service was extremely professional, but personable. The food was out of this world fantastic!!! Can't wait to go back.
We always enjoy the restaurant so wonderful, the people, the atmosphere is so elegant. Dan our waiter was fantastic we had him also before. My brother in law just turned 70 this week and we could not think of a better place more suited to take him. He and his wife just loved it! We took pictures all and all we just love it there! Not to mention the food is just exquisite! The filet was just great! and they had the veal chop which they raved about!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there, for the food, ambiance ad service. Dan was our waiter and was a joy to have in terms of personality and knowledge of wine and menu offerings.
Highly recommend the veal chop special in mushroom and madeira sauce and the Dover sole. The grand marnier souffles were fabulous and a great way to finish the meal.
Wine and food prices are very reasonable when compared to New York City prices for same quality food and ambiance. Highly recommend for special occasions and when you just want an enjoyable evening out for a gourmet meal.
