Food is classic French but in a tired way. Dishes were competently cooked but not inspired.

Exceptional food and service. We always dine here when staying in Newport. I had the coffee encrusted duck, it was excellent! I 'm looking forward to are next visit in October.

Food was delicious. They were all very nice, including the hostess that others on this site have complained about. Frankly, when I go to a fancy-ish place for dinner, I don't want dirt bag looking people sitting next to me, and it has nothing to do with how much credit you have available on your card. There's nothing wrong with a place wanting to maintain a standard. I do think they were a little understaffed, though. We didn't get the immediate service we have come to expect in French restaurants. If we're in the area again, we would definitely go back.

Our dinner was outstanding.
Flavor, presentation. A top place for exquisite food.
The chef is an amazing saucier. So rare nowadays.

Monica was so welcoming and our waiter Dan was professional and gave us the best recommendations.

A gem.

The service was great; the length of the meal was long but that is also French style and worth the wait. I would definitely go back. The halibut dish was amazing!

curt phone manner from receptionist. just because its French doesn't mean you have to be stuffy or rude. true elegance should be relaxed and welcoming. food was good but it was not a particularly interesting or innovative menu. service was good but slow

Visiting from FL on our anniversary. Had been there many years ago and it is not lost anything, still an outstanding restaurant. All facets of the meal, service and ambiance are great. Made our day very special.

We always choose Bouchard's when we are entertaining guests, birthdays, anniversaries
or for any special occasion. It is consistently the best dining experience we have; and although we try other restaurants that are comparably priced, not one has come even close to Chef Bouchard's delectable food preparation, the incredible service, expansive wine list or overall feeling that we are enjoying a wonderful dinner at our favorite restaurant. It is always a pleasure to dine there, and we have never (even once) been disappointed.

Outstanding food in a fashionable classic styled high end setting. Probably the best veal chop we have had in ages, with the absolute best ever soufflé for desert.

Bouchard Restaurant is respectably dull and disappointing. The decor is old and tired. The food was 'good' at best; but, it does not live up to the expectation one feels when reading the restaurant's classics greatest hits menu. The head waiter was warm and gracious. The back waiter was unaccommodating. Is Bouchard worth the time and money? In and of itself, no.

I'm going to try to contain myself: the best we've ever had in Newport !!!!

I had a stuffed peeled tomato, my wife had carpaccio. We both had the special for the evening: halibut Oscar. with piped mashed and sweet potatoes, The sauce was out of this world: delicate and flavorful.

We had an anniversary chocolate mousse.

I know it is often over used, but this was a truly spectacular meal. Bouchard is our go to best restaurant in Newport by far.
