Bottle Inn Hermosa Ratings and Reviews
This is a Treasure in Hermosa Beach with authentic & excellent Italian food. The restaurant has been here forever-- and I hope it stays for many more years. It is simple, good, quiet and excellent. This is like an Italian joint you would find in the Village in NYC, (but pay twice as much for the food if it were in NYC ). We had fried calamari appetizer, and it was not greasy-- it was light, and tender. The Chicken Marsala is not heavy, its tasty and not greasy at all. The pasta is excellent and fresh. The veal scaloppini was light and very thin, which is how it should be. When you sit down, you are IMMEDIATELY given the MOST DELICIOUS garlic bread...and they will refill the basket if you ask. Desserts are very good-- if you have any room left. We have come here several times, and we like that there are people of all ages (from couples dating, young families with children, and people in their 40-70's!). Its a treasure-- for sure.
We've been here a few times but not for a year or so. It was one of our favorite date spot. Last Saturday night we went there for a date night. The food was disappointing. They served garlic bread cold, my finance's starter was served 10mins before my starter. His soup was not great and the calamari was average. The bartender served us and was lovely but it seemed that the staff were all over the shop. The hostess seemed frazzled when we asked to move to a window seat. The dining room was so loud we didn't want to spend the evening shouting to each other. It was a strange night and although we hadn't complained the bartender seemed to realize that the service and food was not up to standard and gave us complimentary desert and coffee. Very nice of him! We will not be rushing back, simply because there are much better restaurants in the area.
We’ve been coming to the Bottle Inn for 40 years, but we hadn’t been there since they remodeled the restaurant. The restaurant is even better now with the small bar for people waiting for a table. Our dinner and the artichoke appetizer was scrumptious. We’ll back back sooner than later!
The Bottle in was our go to place. We were their a week ago and had a very nice dinner even though its under new ownership. I decide go back and bring out of town guests I asked for a special table and special occasion was a birthday. The manager gave away our table and put us in the back room where the light can kill you. You feel like the spot light is on you.
The manager who talked to us last week, didn't remember us talked to us as if this was our first time their. Also very rude. He didn't apologize just did not care. We have been coming to the Bottle Inn for over 40 years. This will be our last time and we will tell all our friends .
We just walked out. Went to Fonz's in Manhattan in Manhattan beach where we were we treated like royalty.
We ate at the old Bottle Inn numerous times each year before it recently changed ownership. The new menu is way too limited, unlike the previous one. And the food is not nearly as good....we've been here twice since the remodel and didn't care that much for it either time. This last time I had the Osso Bucco (how can you mess that up?)....but it had some kind of funky sauce that pretty much ruined the dish. Probably won't be going back. Also, last Saturday night the restaurant was overbooked and way way too noisy and crowded.....poor scheduling I guess.
We miss the old Bottle Inn!!!!!
Been going to the Bottle in for 40 years. Now under new ownership. They did a nice job remodeling. The menu is slightly different but kept a lot of the original menu. The only thing they changed which was a signature dish was the mushroom soup. We always ordered it. However the recipe was changed and it was not very good. Nevertheless we will still come just won't order the soup. Its too bad we really like it.
It took a while for them to notice that we were sitting at the table. Once we caught someone's attention, we got water and drinks. When we ordered, the food came fast and was EXCELLENT.
I had the filet and it was superior. My wife had the Lasagna and our 93 year old friend had the fish special and it was the first time I ever saw her clean her plate. Hats off to the new owners keeping the menu the same as before. Many returns ahead.
Perfect choice to entertain out of town friends for New Year's Eve. Grateful for accommodating us with an earlier seating time. The vibe from start to finish could not have been better. Service and food were top shelf. Best garlic bread ever. Already thinking about our next meal there.
Bottle Inn in Hermosa Beach has fantastic food, an attentive wait staff and a romantic atmosphere.
It has been a hidden jewel in Hermosa for many years. I highly recommend it for romantic, special occasions or just a night out with excellent food. The wait staff is the best. They are right on top of it and if you even look like you want something - they are right there.
We were there early New Year's Year - the place was packed and so a little noisey, but other than that a great dining experience
Everything was great. Pesto was delicious! Ciopino was delicious. Garlic bread was delicious. Wine was delicious - a two bottle night for the four of us.....ok maybe 1 1/4 for the other three. Desert was delicious. Great selection of flavors/dishes to deliver a great meal to us all. You can also mix and match pasta/sauces if you like. I loved the Gnocchi - it was denser and bigger than usual. My wife prefers softer.
The food was very good and we enjoyed ourselves. The service level was lacking. Our server, while nice, seemed to be overbooked. We waited almost 20-25 minutes for an appetizer order to be taken, and a long while between dinner and the offering of dessert. When the bill was paid, he accidentally ran the wrong charge and had to redo. I have been here many times, and service has been good but this time service was not as good.
