Proudly family owned and operated since 2014!
The first time we went we were very pleased. The second time on Mother’s Day not so much. I confirmed the day before with open table and then received a somewhat rude message about 2 hours before our reservation that we needed to confirm I called back and did. When we arrived we were going to be given a bad table because they said we didn’t confirm so on and on until they did give us a better table. My food had burnt cheese in it and so did 2 others. Not great but not terrible, not good for a special occasion!
Valerio and Julia are tremendous owners and operator's. The service was first rate and the food in a word...delectable! Had a 3 (small portion of each) fresh Pasta's, Carbonara, Amatricana and delicate brown butter, sage Ravioli and they were all three made to perfection. This will be a go to place whenever i am in town. I am Italian and this is a rare gem that could easily be a Ristorante in Italy. Authentic.
Wonderful service and spectacular food. Homemade pasta made me feel like I was in Italy. Was a splendid experience and can’t wait to go again!
So happy to have a Roma experience stateside! Superb.
Wonderful evening as usual ... continually net entrees on the menu, plus our old favorites!
Authentic Italian food in the South Bay!
Julia & Valerio, a charming young couple from Italy have created a little bit of their beautiful home country in the South Bay. Food is "west side" quality. Atmosphere is cozy with plenty of personal service from the owners/hosts.
Either they were short-handed or just need to hire more people but they were a bit disorganized. HOWEVER, the 2 owners were so hospitable that they made up for it with their charm and their delicious food! Second time I have been there and will go back again.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in South Bay. We really appreciate the hostess/waiter couple who run this authentic Italian restaurant and everything on the menu looks like something we will definitely try at some point. The dishes we have eaten have all been absolutely fantastic, I don't quite lick the plate clean but you'd be hard pressed to know that.
I closed my eyes while eating the Carbonara and was transported to my favorite cafe in Rome.
The food was fabulous, the wine excellent and well priced and the service was exactly what you would expect in Italy, warm and engaging.
Treat your self to a trip to Rome for the price of a dinner.
Excellent service and a unique wine list. Always enjoy dining there.
When we are in or near Redondo Beach, we always try to dine at Bottega Romana. We spend a few months each year in Italy and know good, authentic Italian cuisine. This restaurant, owned and operated by a charming young couple from Rome is our favorite in the South Bay area. The food, starting with the presentation, is wonderful and the service is always good and attentive.
An authentic Italian hidden treasure! Food and service was awesome...will definitely be returning when in town!
The owner, Valario is charming and very hospitable. The food is consistently outstanding. He recently added a pizza oven and his flatbread is delicious. Highly recommend for a full multi course dinner or even an early light meal.
Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic restaurant
The hidden gem of all restaurants in not only the Riviera Village but all of the South Bay. Outstanding service, food, wine and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Husband and I had been here before, and this experience was similar. The service is top notch, making you feel welcome while also providing expert descriptions of the food and wine. We sampled their new flat bread as an appetizer (mushroom and truffle oil was delicious). Husband had the grilled Mediterranean fish and I had leg of lamb. Both were very well prepared and tasty, and the wine recommended by the waiter was excellent. Side of braised spinach was just okay. Tiramisu for dessert was very light (lots of whipped cream).
This is one of our favorite restaurants & has become very popular. The service is normally relaxed, but this event was very slow. 20 minutes to get wine orders in...not good!
They need to hire another server on the weekends!
First time the owner suggested dishes; experience was great
Second time, we picked. Good, but not a great as the first time.
We celebrated a delayed Valentine’s Day celebration on Friday the 15th, and were very happy with our choice of Bogetta Romana. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated quickly by the owner at a nice table for two bye the window. The restaurant has an inviting ambiance, and V-day decorations still adorned the room. The waiters brought water, a basket of their home made bread, oil & vinegar to the table, while we checked out the wine list.
The sommelier suggested a nice Venetian red I was unfamiliar with, and gave us a pour to try — excellent!
The Clivus Amarone Della Valpolicella would made a nice accompaniment to our menu selections. My wife chose to start with a caprese salad, I with the grilled octopus. Both were delicious. For our main course, my wife chose the heart-shaped pink ravioli, I the paperdelle pasta with a lamb ragu (meat sauce). Hers was a creamy delight, mine was delicious and a delicate panorama of flavors. Very impressive! We heard that all of their pasta is home made, and were not disappointed with our selections. I was happy with the portion sizes, leaving contented but not stuffed.
This was our first visit to this fine establishment, owned and operated by a charming Italian couple that deliver an authentic dining experience. We are certain to return.
The service was great and the food was awesome!
I usually love this restaurant, the food is authentic Italian food. Not on Valentine's day unfortunately. However, I'll back on a regular day and hopefully it's back to normal very good Italian food.
We went here for valentines and had some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Our waiter didn’t come over to our table initially for about 20 minutes, thankfully that’s also when he brought the wine menu... he was apologetic and said they were just busy. we placed our order and he said “wow I’m surprised you would try us for the first time on Valentine’s Day” needless to say I should have left then. 25 minutes later our appetizers came out. Then after another 45-50 minutes after our entrees finally arrived, needless to say our waiter never once came back to update or check in with us. When our entrees came my wife’s ravioli more or less looked like bertolii and my polenta was burnt, which I am not sure how you could do. Needless to say I’d never recommend coming here, nor will we ever go back.
In my wildest dreams I never thought I would encounter a restaurant where guests can be treated so badly. After bringing the wrong appetizer for one of our members, then the wrong dinner and waiting an extraordinarily long time for the replacements - everyone else finished, we asked for the check and they returned the wrong credit card. Took three tries to straightened it out. Could we forgive this on a busy evening if the food was good - yes, but it was mediocre. Could we forgive the offensive way we were treated by management when we tried to explain what happened - not likely. We will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Maybe because it was Valentines Day, the kitchen may have been rushed and with a limited menu, but we ordered the branzino, a pasta and a few apps. Unfortunately, it appeared as if the branzino had been sitting under a heater. It was a little dry and the sauce was almost dried up. Disappointing for a $34 dish. The pasta - a bolognese was good. We ordered a delish tuna tar tar app and a flatbread pizza. The pizza was horrible was so cheesy it overwhelmed my palette. Service while lovely was shall we say interesting. Maybe the server had too many tables but we barely had a chance to finish ordering our food and poof he was gone. Location is perfect if you live in the South Bay. Will give it another try but certainly not on a holiday.
Had Dinner on Wednesday night at 6pm. It was a weds night and so not enough hired help. Waited a bit to get water served and menu brought to us. Husband and wife who owned the place I think were great people and engaged in conversation. Our waiter when he finally came was nice. Food was good and very authentic Italian food. Not your typical pasta dishes which was great. The risotto with mushrooms was very tasty and the best risotto I have had and I’m not a fan of risotto. I had the linguine with clams and shrimp and it was different and delicious!! It wasn’t the typical white sauce I am used to it was red sauce and just very well made. We had bottle of Malbec wine and that was a great selection. Our experience was pleasant except for how we had to wait too long to get service.
It is my go place when I am in the area. The owner is amazing and the food is very good. The octopus is a must!
The food is suburb!! The owners are sweet and it's a pleasure dining there
The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We went here for our one year anniversary and the owners were very kind and friendly and explained the history of the restaurant to us. Great date spot.
The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I’ve never had a server be so incredibly rude. My friend found a hair in his food and very kindly let the server know and the server just laughed and walked away. Management came out and was extremely accusatory insinuating my friend planted the hair in the food. My friend calmly said he was not looking for any type of monetary compensation he just wanted to let them know that a hair was found. I have never been so embarrassed for suggesting to go to this restaurant. I will never go back, nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Another great meal. The service was outstanding and many good options on the menu. My wife had the pasta bolognase and I had the breaded chicken. Our server pair us up with a nice Italian wine. All good. Thanks.
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants! Food is always delicious and the owners are always welcoming and gracious!
Friendly, attentive service plus delicious, authentic dishes - always. A true neighborhood gem!
Very high quality food with attentive service in a very friendly environment. This is a real winner for an authentic Italian meal and experience!
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Was our first time here and we were blown away. Has earned a spot in our regular rotation. Can’t wait to come back.
This is our favorite Italian spot anywhere near us in Redondo. The food is very good particularly the fish and fresh pasta. Very nice wine list and the service is excellent! With two rooms and the patio it is easy to have a conversation. Only minor item to me is the tables are a bit small for 4 people. Looking forward to our next visit.
We had a delicious meal, served by their very attentive (and funny!) staff. I loved the ambiance the minute I stepped inside; finally a restaurant that is quiet enough to hear the conversation at our table! We will definitely be back.
I have dined here twice now and the service is incredible. There was a bit of a language barrier with one of the servers who misunderstood my order, but everything was fixed. The service is slow-paced but makes for a nice night with Italian wine and top-notch authentic dishes.
Always an enjoyable experience. Valerio and Julia are charming owners who, along with the staff, ensure that your meal is delicious and satisfying. We highly recommend this restaurant.
