Bottega Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
I've been to the Laval locations on numerous occasions and the food is always impeccable . This was my first experience at they're Montreal location and I'd say it's just a slight notch below .
The service wasn't as great tonight . Our waiter seemed to be rushed and didn't let us enjoy our wine .
Despite the less than perfect service I have nothing to complain about .
Not generous on ingredient and pretentiously expensive!
Especially on starters
Pizza dough delicious but with only two small pieces of prosciutto = 18$
Don t mind paying when it is good but hate when the portion are tiny or there is not enough ingredient
Wine bottles high priced
This was not a good night for La Bottega. This was busy as usual, but the kitchen was awful in its turnaround time. If you ordered an item from the pizza oven, no problem -- the team and manager would turn it around, but anything from the full kitchen made the turnaround slow from getting the appetizer and the then the time to entree... my wife and I almost finished the wine bottle before the main course!
I know it was the first evening of the Montreal Rogers Cup, but for my 4th outing there in 2 months -- not a good night at all.
Disappointed when they served me a pizza with a large carbonated portion. The waitress offered to replace it after I started eating which I declined. But the damage was done. Inappropriate for a reputable restaurant and at such price. This is the second time with a poor experience there. May be my last.
The waitress did here job very well professional etc. The music was way too loud could not hear the conversation at the table we were 4 ppl . Pizza was ok I had much better. Meatballs were very good . Salmon tartar also. Found to be a little pricey for what you got.
All I can say is I am extremely disappointed! We made a reservation for 4 people at 9pm Saturday night. We reserved over OpenTable and I subsequently confirmed over the phone the next day. We showed up at 8:45pm and they told us they would be ready at 9pm so we went for a walk returning at 8:55pm. At 9pm we signalled we were back, the hostess told us she would come get us in a couple minutes. 9:15pm still nothing we checked in again she again said not long. Around 9:20pm a group of three clearly without a reservation got a table. 30 minutes later! We didn't even get an offer for drinks or accommodation. Annoyed and hungry we left at 9:35pm still with no one had spoken to us!
Have had many great meals here, with the service matching or exceeding the food. This time, only the food delivered. Our server was DEEPLY preoccupied and flit away from our table for a few minutes in the middle of our party's order. He was polite enough, but apparently not aware enough to apologize for his distractedness and lack of attention throughout the course of our meal.
I'll come back for sure, because, as I said, this is not usually a problem. Maybe this guy was not "Grand Prix Weekend" waiter material...
We were a group of 14 and by chance we had a table outside on their nice terrasse. The food was good, came hot and delicious, everything was good, pizzas to die for, entrees and desserts exquiside. The staff was very professional and nice even with our kids who were playing sometimes quite noisily. Family friendly place where we return every time to celebrate a special moment.
We visited Bottega on recommendation from a friend. We were in Montreal celebrating our wedding anniversary.
The food was fabulous. Fresh produce, good specials and authentic Italian. The wine list is expensive but extensive with something for everyone. Bottega had great cocktails and a funky bar area where you could comfortably sit for a quick meal even on your own.
Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience with the greeter. She welcomed us in French and i know enough to understand but not respond in kind. She was clearly offended that i spoke to her in english (a big sigh and a deep breath before moving on), seated us and provided us with french version menus. We thought nothing of this and muddled through, only to have our very fabulous waiter (Matt - thank you, you were great) look in surprise that we weren't given the english version menus. We had heard that in Quebec they take the french language very seriously but i felt that the behaviour from the greeter was unnecessary and a slight that dulled the sparkle just a little.
first of all they stuck 3 of us in a table for 2 which meant we didnt have enough room for all our dishes.
the service was just ok but way to fast with the service. there was no time between aps and mains.
the pizza was soggy and just didnt hit the mark. the best think we had was the chocolate almond dessert.
We asked to sit outside but we were placed in a table way too small, basically on the sidewalk, without any kind of apologies for having given a larger table to a group with no reservation. The pizza was burnt on the bottom, and nobody came to check with us to see if we were happy with our meal. Definitely disappointing.
We've always enjoyed visiting Bottega Pizzeria and our waiter Michael was absolutely fantastic. The food is delicious and service is quick and courteous. Michael always has the best suggestions for wine pairings and desserts, and that personalized feel really enhances the overall experience. I definitely recommend Bottega Pizzeria for any type of outing!
