On Sunday, after attending a play, three friends and I had dinner at Bottega. The first courses were ok. One friend complained the mussels were (bland,) the Caesar salad was good, the mixed fried calamari and zucchini was enjoyable as the calamari was tender, although the zucchini was limp and not crisp. One friend had gnocchi in a cream sauce which was described as “passable.” The other entrees were sorely lacking. The desserts-ricotta cheesecake and strudel with ice cream were both nice endings to a very ordinary meal. My Sancerre, crisp and cold was a highlight as was our waiter who was personable and accommodating. We will not return.
A neighborhood gem that's always dependable. Menu may not vary much, but the food quality is excellent and portions are generous. Service is attentive. Above all, unlike so many trendy places where the noise level is unbearable, one can actually hear the other people at the table! I hate to say it (because I like its quiet atmosphere) this is a must if you're on the UES.
Poor service from waiter. Gave him a lower, but respectable tip. He came back to the table after and said our tip was too low. Not returning.
From beginning to end, the meal was exceptional. The staff was attentive from the minute we walked in. The food was delicious. We didn't have to ask for more bread, the baskets were always refilled and it was scrumptious. Even though we were 11 people we didn't feel cramped and were able to converse without shouting. Totally recommend this place. I have always used OpenTable to pick my restaurants and this was another hit with my family!
Food was tasty but light on the portions
Veal is a Good choice . Pasta dish was slightly disappointing. Still a good restaurant . Not very pricey either
Swirdfish underdone and the waiter was argumentative, although he readily agreed to return it to the kitchen. When returned it was fine.
Quiet at lunch time. Nice place to meet my girlfriends.
Great local spot, exceptional service. A bit cramped but that's fine as long as you're expecting it.
Greatly enjoyed our meal at Bottega on Saturday night. Service and food excellent. Our waiter Juan was engaging and accomodated any requests we made. Worth coming out in the pouring rain!
This is a neighborhood place which my friends and I return to often. The ambience is pleasant, the food is quite good, and the service is accommodating.
Love places that still have tablecloths! Food good too.
Absolutely the worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant I booked on Open Table. The service was deplorable, the food came late, cold, and in waves rather than at the same time as it should be when entertaining guests. Nobody asked us once if we enjoyed our appetizer or meal, we had to literally get up to serve one of guests their white wine and we had to pour our own red wine from the table. I had to get up an find our server to pay the bill. Bottega was bad!
Always good! Never disappoints.
Everything our party of four ordered was delicious. Service was wonderful.
The food was very good, and the staff attentive and friendly.
The meal was wonderful. We chose it for the proximity to the hotel and were not disappointed. The waiter was a gem which added to the experience. I would recommend that if you order the special that you ask the price of the dish as it was pretty pricey. Would definitely return to this restaurant
The service was perfect, the ambiance lovely, the food delicious, the prices are reasonable. We think this place is a neighborhood find.
A no attitude Restaruant. Always happy to fill a special request if possible. Have not had a bad meal there.
My fav in the neighborhood.? You get a lot of bang for your buck..
I always enjoy my lunch or dinner here. Nice surroundings, polite staff , always great food.
It’s a pretty spot. Very good food. Tables nicely spaced so that you can hear a conversation at your own table. We have been there many times. This past Sat. Eve wait service could have been more attentive
Best burata in the neighborhood & enough for 2. Excellent chicken parm. Service is great!
Spur of the moment family get together. Food and service were all great. Attentive staff. Will return again when in NYC.
We went for my boyfriends birthday with his parents and mine. It was great. Food was incredible. Highly recommend the gnocchi. Ambiance was great. Decor was cute. Definitely worth it!
With the exception of one of the 2 co-managers, this restaurant is by far one of the best I’ve tried in NYC. Service was 8/10, food was 10/10. This was a birthday occasion, and they could’ve cared less. Nothing special at or the end of dinner like most restaurants in NYC. Which brings me to what really rubbed me wrong, the one co-Manager who was rude and condescending; also, we were never read the specials. The waiter was somewhat rude at first but warmed up. The food is superb, the wine list extensive and reasonable. I’d go again but would definitely avoid the one maitre’d . And if you’re going to CE,berate a special occasion, make sure someone who cares knows.
As always, a very enjoyable and delicious evening.
Our waiter Alex was a gem. We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Bottega. Most of us ate great Italian food but one had the traditional turkey dinner and it was delicious.
NEVER DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE, FOOD AND VALUE FOR THE VALUE FOR THE MONEY. TRY TO DINE AT BOTTEGA AT LEAST EVERY FEW WEEKS. NEVER TIRE OF THE RESTAURANT. SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL WITH FOOD TO MATCH. HAVE DINED AT BOTTEGA NUMEROUS TIMES AND NEVER A DISAPPOINTMENT.
Consistently delicious food and great service.m at reasonable prices.
Excellent food. Pleasant and helpful servers. Quiet at lunch. I’ll be back
This is a friendly local Italian with good service and food. Delighted we found it at last!
Nice neighborhood venue with excellent service and well priced for the Upper East. Recommended.
Excellent entrees, fair pasta, decent variety wine list. Attentive service. Very classy neighborhood restaurant.
The resturant was set up very nicely clean and warm feeling. The staff was great and food was excellent. Will return.
We met friends from the UK for the second year in a row, and went back to Bottega for dinner again! It was that good and didn't break the bank. Great wine list, great menu, and great ambiance!
Good food, good service, but too noisy at prime dinner time. Tough to have a quiet conversation.
Took our daughter here for a special night out. The polenta appetizer was outstanding.
We both had three course and the meal quality was excellent throughout. I definitely recommend eating here.
Truly awful food
