I have been here many times but probably won’t return. Three of the four dinners were sub par and we waited for 1 hr and 20 minutes for dinner. The restaurant was not overly crowded.
Waiter was very snippy, menu was very limited & food was mediocre.
Started with fun and unique cocktails, calamari appetizer was crisp and tasty, short rib an polenta was phenomenal, burger with truffle aioli rich and satisfying. Great ambience. Gabriel and Graciella gave us over the top service. Can't wait to return
Excellent food. Excellent service. That’s why we keep going back.
Most delicious burger and truffle fries ever! Great outdoor space and excellent service
Birthday dinner for my husband while visiting Napa was wonderful @ Bottega. Food was outstanding, as was the service!
Excellent food! The gnocchi was very delicate and the sauce was to die for.
It’s a busy restaurant so reserve a week or more ahead. The food (even the bread) was far above average. I’d return at the next opportunity. The house Cab was wonderful.
It’s been years since I’ve been to Bottega and we took friends who have never been to celebrate two birthdays.
The service was great, we really enjoyed Oscar.
The food was meh; a few of us got ricotta gnocchi and pasta... how do you mess up pasta dishes at an Italian restaurant?? I guess the short ribs were good, but I only had a bite of my friend’s. It was also very loud in the restaurant, which made it hard to have long conversations. One of our guests couldn’t get out of there fast enough and was not impressed, which is disappointing given the good reputation Bottega has. Not sure we will return in the near future, but hopefully some positive changes will be made.
This is not the old Bottega.Knowing that Covid has changed many things in the restaurant business I am willing to judge more favorably. That being said, the service was good but the food was below Bottega standards in quality, taste and presentation.Skimpy portions as well.It seemed like it has become such a tourist destination that they figure they can slide.I will give them another chance next year after Covid issues resolved.
We have been to Bottega many times in the past, but yesterday was our first visit in a few years. The ambience was everything we expected, and the service was impeccable. The food was good, but it looked like portion size was smaller than what we remembered.
As for dessert, we had the tiramisu. It was wonderful, but we did miss seeing the chocolate Almond molten chocolate cake with hazelnut creme anglaise on the menu.
First visit for us in more than a year. So nice to be able to enjoy the amazing food and nice vibe at Bottega. Lots of guests strained the staff a bit, understandable given the widespread shortage of available workers.
Another nice meal at Bottega. After a stellar couple of years, it had seemed things began to slip. The last couple of times we have been, it appears that Bottega is back to being the acclaimed restaurant it was in the beginning! We will be back.
The food is still good but nothing special. Menu and decor all seem tired though it still brings in crowds.
Biggest problem was the service, spotty at best.
Their Italian food was below average in quality. They only offerred one salad choice. We ordered it and it was good. The service was not very good. We had to ask for napkins. After 20 minutes our water glasses were empty and a waiter with a water pitcher walked right past us without filling them up. The water dropper or silverway on the floor when he removed them. The ambience is very nice but we can't eat ambience - Dr. Dennis and Judie S.
I had the pasta with pork belly and it had very little meat in the sauce. Also the pasta was very hard and I would say undercooked. The calamari appetizer has one small piece of calamari on it and mostly greens. All in all we were not thrilled with the food considering we drove 1 1/2 hours to get there.
First: we asked to change our table for outdoor and the staff was rude and impatient.
Second: I ordered a non alcoholic beverages menu because I would like to drink a natural fruit juice. Waiter without any patient just brought me a tasteless cam juice. When I asked about the fruits on the juice he answered very rude.
Third: another waiter took the plates on the table that was already empty and than he just asked me to take the plate that was under my plate which I was still EATING. So, I have to stop because he wanna clean the table.
A very memorable meal. Excellent meal, drinks and service. Absolutely great. Thank you!
What happened to the service! Late opening, mock dragging and moving of umbrellas, unswept patio. Main arriving prior to finishing the salad course.Dishes lingering on the table. At least the food is we good.
The food was great, and they were super accommodating about me making a reservation on the wrong night. Great food, great service.
Beautiful ambiance and the food was amazing!
Very slow service. Entrees served extremely hot.
Amazing!! Everything was perfect!!
Mother sons trip
Table for two with a plastic divider between us and the next so that you could barely get in and out of the booth.
Server tried to take our food order before we even received our drinks. Once we ordered, we never saw the server again. We wanted to order a bottle of wine but he never came back. We saw him again 20 minutes after the back waiter had cleared our table.
Worst service I have ever experienced
There are too many fine restaurants here to go to a place with service so poor.
We were neglected by the waiter, sat for 15 minutes+ without a greeting or being offered a drink. When ordering cocktail asked if a cosmo was made with Cointreau to which he said yes (in a tone of “duh of course”) but when drink arrived it was not made like a traditional cosmo (vodka, Cointreau lime etc) but one with a sour mix involved and undrinkable. Support staff was nice and attentive but main waiter not interested in providing good service. He had a total of 4 tables, was not overwhelmed just no multi tasking skills and very blasé about his patrons. Never checked if we enjoyed our food (or above mentioned drink) once his support staff delivered it. Appetizers were fine but one entree was not and could not finish. Busser/food runner took food away and showed concern but was another 10 minutes passed before we could get our server to acknowledge us. Tipped in full only because all food runners were hard at work to cover for him. Overall a real disappointment. Manager came to table at end as support staff alerted him of her concerns which we appreciated. Writing review only in hopes that restaurant can improve as realize post covid may be more challenging to get things running smoothly. Ambience was nice.
We were seated on the patio. It was just before sundown so the sun was a bit annoying at first. Our waiter seemed frazzled and not as attentive as I expected. He tried to make up for it at the end with complimentary house wine but it was too late.
Love the staff and the food , great wine list with both local and Italian selections !
Waiter, Jeffrey had a crappy day- or is always indifferent to his guests.
FLIES all over the restaurant.
We had one drink and one app- and that was all we could handle.
We will never return to Bottega.
We asked for the manager. He was professional- he picked up our tab, which was kind- and justified.
I had the calamari appetizer, which was excellent. An earlier review, which must have been written by a competing restaurant owner panned this dish. This points out the problem of unverified reviews. This restaurant deserves your patronage, and order the calamari! Service was excellent, and its dome of the best value in Yountville.
Awful service. Food ok, but not worth the price. Overall bad experience.
The experience was outstanding! We even got to meet Michael! The appetizers were great but 4 of us ordered the Bolognese and were disappointed. To say it was al dente is an understatement. It was very dry and lacked any meat.....and we had 4 portions of it. Again, our server, Evan could not have been nicer and the ambiance was exquisite
This visit to Bottega was a bit disappointing. They were out of a number of menu items, the music was a bit loud, and it seemed a little dirty. Lights that were strung on a nearby potted tree were hanging off, there was noticeable dust on some surfaces and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in a while. Service was friendly and prompt, food was good, but for the money, I expected more. Overall, it was just OK.
Food was excellent. Will go back often. Service was horrible. We ordered wine which was brought after we were done with our appetizers. They brought my wife the wrong appetizer and brought me the wrong entree. They corrected them quickly and the original choices were sensational.
Fantastic service and delicious food served in a quaint yet slightly dim setting. Everything from the bread and spread, to the fish and desert was well executed. Flavors were well balanced and service was very attentive throughout the meal.
Loved my fist visit. Food was very good. Service was awesome even though it was blazing hot. CaNt wait to go back for dinner.
Great lunch. Thanks for the anniversary dessert.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Yountville
Food was good but service was horrible. We had our wine at least 20 minutes before our cocktails arrived and they were all ordered at the same time. We ordered 3 Aperol spritzes and when they arrived the cocktail glasses were all beaded and the alcohol was separated. Plenty of people working the tables but service was slow. 3 of us ordered pasta and I ordered Branzino everyone was done with their pasta before I got my fish. No one every came to tell me its on its way or even came by to see how the food tasted. They were out of tiramisu-signautre dish on a holiday weekend....I would go somewhere else.
Delicious meal. Wonderful service.
Server was very nice. And attentive. I had ravioli tasted nothing but grease. Sent it back and got spaghetti it was not cooked enough and very bland. Husband had chicken which was very good. Unfortunately the huge spiderweb in the ceiling which had been there at least a year considering the dust on the web. Would not recommend or return.
