We had a party of 6 (mid-late 30s) celebrating a bridal shower for dinner, ordered 6 appetizers, 7 entrees & 3 sides. All the entrees and sides came out within 15 minutes. Thought it was odd that they came out before the appetizers, but since we said it could come out together, thought it was ok. We politely said to the server, “hi, we got our main course, but wanted to check if the appetizers are still coming.” He looked at this notes & read off the order. I told him that was correct, but we had not received it yet, but would still like them. Our party had 4 people who work in food services, so thought maybe the ticket didn’t get sent in & that was ok, we could wait (we know mistakes happen & we were still having a great time). 10 minutes later, 3 of the 6 appetizers came out. We ate, but when those were nearly finished, I wanted to check in with the server again on the other 3. Me: “hi, just wanted to check in on the other 3 appetizers, since only [names of dishes] came out.” Him: “Only 3 came out?” Me: “Yes, these 3. Just checking to see if they were still coming or if the ticket hadn’t yet been put in. We still would like to have it, but if it hasn’t been fired, you can go ahead and cancel it.” Him: “WELL RELAX, WE’LL GET THE BILL RIGHT FOR WHAT YOU GOT!” Dumbfounded by his reaction, I said, “Go ahead & cancel them.”

Honorable mentions: He actively waited on tables around us for 25 mins & would not make eye contact, we had empty dishes, no water & half bottle of champagne unserved. I’ve been here before and to many restaurants in Yountville/Napa. Normally a 20%+ tipper, for great service(4 are in the food service industry, we get it, we’re always trying to help each other out.)

Ended up speaking with Brittany, GM, (I have never had to do this in my life). Brittany was as apologietic & so kind. We told her it wasn’t her fault, we were more in shock & the unacceptable behavior truly dampen the mood. She offered us complimentary desserts & credits on bill.

We have visited Bottega many times and a favorite of my ours. The food was awesome. The service was just not up to par this time out. A little slow and the sequence of food delivery was just off. That said, we had a great time. I know they will sort it out.

Still a strong recommendation.

The food was excellent. One of the better meals we had in the Yountville area. My girlfriend got the branzino and she said it was the best she had. I got the Chicken Fra Diavolo and it was fantastic. The only issue is that we were sitting on the patio and they had this roaring fireplace going with the worst ventilation that you could imagine. They did open up the shades and were courteous about it (and service was really good) but our eyes starting tearing up from the smoke and our jackets and clothes smelled like we just got out of a fire for several days. Either come up with better way to deal with the smoke or don't light the fireplace out there. It was disappointing since the meal was so good but unbearable to sit there through it.

I have been here 3-4 times now and it is always just 'meh'. The food is OK. I expected to be 'wowed' since Tra Vigne was always my 'go to' when I was in St. Helena. I don't think I will be back. Next time I will try Coqueta and see if I have a different experience.

Food was fine, service was poor. My water glass had a price tag sticker on the inside, our appetizer plate was dirty. No water refills during our dinner, our server basically disappeared after our appetizers. Tried to order a beer but they were out of 4 of the 6 on the menu. The food was NOT good enough to make up for all the other stuff.

Front of the house was awful. Nobody to greet us for 10+ minutes. The issue was not the wait but the lack of a host. Restaurants can get busy and backed up but I’ve never been to a restaurant without host/hostess. When he did arrive we were made to feel like we were a bother to arrive on time for our reservation. It set a bad tone for our experience

My GF and I have eaten at Bottega a couple of times for lunch on the weekend in the past year - most recently yesterday - and we were very happy with our experiences there each time.

The 1st time we were seated in the back "alley" courtyard (where there are only 4 two person tables located in a row) right next to the wall fountain. It is uncovered (but they do have umbrellas if you want/need sun/rain cover) and the tables are positioned very far apart. We liked that location so much, we asked for and were very pleased to get it again.

If you are looking for a secluded, quiet and romantic spot to have lunch (or dinner) and the weather is suitble, you should ask for it.

Service for us both times was very attentive in this out of the way location. I notice that many people have complained about receiving poor service during their visits to Bottega but that has not been our experience. I think that this factor is largely dependent upon the server and fortunately we never had a server who inattentive.

On this occassion, my GF and I shared the fried calamari, the tricolore salad, the tiramisu and a bottle of Napa sauv blanc. She had the pork belly pasta and I had the pan fried branzino. The calamari was very good but the we both thought the portion size was meager. The salad was very attractively plated and came w/confited grapes and a very tasty dressing on the side. I thought the pork belly pasta was ok but the pork belley seemed lost to me; more a pork ragu w/no sign of the luscious fat that you long for when you lust for pork belly. An improvement would have been to just place a small piece of whole grilled pork belly on top of the pasta as served. The branzino was presented whole (w/the head), panfried and deboned. It was a very large portion and was delicious. The meal cost $200 but that was expected. No complaints.

I would not hesitiate going back to Bottega again.

Beautiful restaurant, very attentive staff, excellent wine list. Impressive negronis, my husband loved his. Rigatoni delicious. The special (risotto) was also delicious but a touch undercooked. Overall fantastic night.

Very disappointed with our visit. When we arrived we were taken to a table outside. Very noisy with a venue outside blaring music, competing with the restaurant’s music. Not conducive for a romantic birthday celebration. Food was mediocre at best, my branzino was fishy tasting & oily from the frying. My husband’ gnocchi was mediocre. Our server never informed us of any specials which when we heard from an adjoining table would have influenced our choices. We’ve had fond memories from previous visits.

The maitre d’ could use some serious improvement. He is certainly not suited for a place of this caliber. Although we had a fivish appointment he continued to seat others while saying to me be right with you. Thank goodness the African America maitre d’ noticed this and came over to seat us. Glad he did as we were thinking about leaving after not being attended to. What I found interesting is that they had outdoor dining available they never offered that option to us.
All in all the remaining experience was excellent and one can’t blame one unattentative employees action to spoil the dining experience.
Just to let all know that although people who work behind the scenes work hard to develop a reputation the guy out front could ride it for you without you even knowing.

We went there for our Anniversary. I had made the reservation for 1.30 pm but they were able to seat us before that. They had our table ready with the Happy Anniversary note on the table which was great! We were seated outside (on request) The ambience was good both inside and outside.

Food was good and very reasonable. Service was great. They gave us a cookie platter on the house as an anniversary gift!
