Chef Michael Chiarello has returned to his culinary roots by creating seasonal farm-to-table Italian cuisine reflecting the bold flavors of Chiarello’s heritage in his signature style 1st made famous at Tra Vigne in the 90’s. An award winning chef/vintner & Food Network host, Chiarello celebrates his Italian roots and the Napa Valley with a menu echoing his long practice of using the finest locally/sustainably produced food. Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows. The inviting dining room is accented with reclaimed antiques, warm fabrics and eclectic light fixtures lending to the restaurant’s old world comfort.

The food was excellent, as always, and staff were very cordial. However, servers appeared with new dishes before the used dishes had been cleared. Things were not well coordinated. Also, the piped in music, in my view, was too loud for normal conversation. I would have much preferred it to be softer and more in the background.

I thought the description of the food was confusing and the portions were small and the taste was not great. I thought the prices were too high for the marginal food they serve. Everything else was great, wait staff, host, ambience (we sat outside) until noisy children showed up behind us. The wine selection could be better as well given they are in wine country, however, the portions were generous.

I made a reservation for 7pm. The day before Bottega changed it to 6pm. Ok. The sent me 3 reminder texts and then called me to make sure we were showing up. Way too intrusive. My shaved Brussels sprout salad was dressed in too much acid - inedible. My husband enjoyed his risotto. My 1/2 chicken was spicier than I expected but I enjoyed it. Not the best eating Napa offers but ok.

Top ten meal experience of a lifetime. I understand why Tyler Florence rated their egg and pork belly appetizer the best bacon and egg dish he had ever had. We could have easily eaten two each. The entrees were equally wonderful (a braised short rib dish that would make any committed vegetarian or vegan think twice, gnocchi that melt in your mouth). Desserts to die for (tiramisu, panna cotta, chocolate mousse cake and lemon-filled donut holes).

I'm not sure how Mr. Chiarello didn't become an iron chef.

Service was exceptional; attentive but not intrusive. A great experience and a lovely evening.

My wife and I went to Bottega for lunch. We went in with high expectations where it was a restaurant from a "name" chef. We were looking for much better than average food at higher than average prices. We were not disappointed. We split three delicious appetizers, good wine and had outstanding service. It was a great lunch experience.

Bottega used to be a must during our annual Napa Valley vacation, but the service was so significantly inferior to how it used to be that we did not enjoy our experience. Our server was very nice, but she didn't offer the quality of service that we had come to expect at Bottega. No explanations, rare visits to our table, and we had to request the things that you would expect a well trained server to ask you.

Fabulous meal each time we have dined here. Today I had the meatball app it was very good. Then shared the rabbit with my wife. This was the single best dish I have had in California. For my entree I had the lamb risotto special. It was terrific. For dessert I had the panna cotta creamsicle. It was beautiful and fantastic. Service was also outstanding!

While the service and surroundings are wonderful, the food was not up to par.
We ordered the rabbit pasta. There was barely any rabbit in it. When we asked our server about it, he said there was usually 3-4 oz. Ours was barely a sprinkle. The appetizers, the octopus and buratta were just so-so. I would choose another restaurant in the future .. It could be what we ordered, as the other diners around us seemed pleased. The manager did offer to compensate with a dessert, which was nice, although we did not take him up on the offer.

We really enjoyed the place! The lady cackling the next table over was a bit obnoxious but not much you can do about that! Amazingly good food! We had a very fun night and my husband truly enjoyed his Birthday!

Omar was fantastic! I love this restaurant; the food was incredible as always and the service kept us at ease in what would otherwise be an intimidating place for our price range. Will always recommend to people who are visiting, it’s well worth a trip on it’s own.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, its a must every time we are in Napa. The polenta under glass is the most wonderful and flavor explosions in your mouth. and the wine list is amazing.
The service is impeccable. Always a birthday must for me.

Would not go back!!! Food and service were very disappointing. No one at our table (4) was impressed with their dinner, mine was a minus on a scale of 1 to 10. Not sure if short of help but for a restaurant who markets their business as up scale experience the service was far from satisfactory. Could have been just one if those nights BUT they will not see my Amex again.

The ambience is great and service was very professional. The rabbit rigatoni was excellent. The shaved brussel sprout salad had an overpowering lemon flavour which ruined the dish and the dehydrated sausage on the ravioli had an excessively strong paprika taste. Flavours just need to be better balanced.

Where to start. Too expensive, with portions that were so small I had to grab my readers. Honestly, I thought it was a joke upon the waiter first presenting the first course. A bowl of soup that was $12 and had maybe five table spoons in it? No to mention it was luke warm. Followed by chicken that was accompanied by what? A couple of green peppers and oil? Ugh. The water...no ice, no lemon and in metal containers that were unappetizing.

Why do they let people bring their dogs to the table and ON THEIR LAPS? Really? Leave Fido at home. I don’t want that when I’m eating.

Not impresssed at all. I’m compelled to let you know as well...the salad was SCRIMPY and rabbits eat more for their breakfast than what was served. Trying to ride on his name, Michael the chef apparently thinks everyone leaves happy. Us? Thrilled (to know we were not coming back or referring). Go somewhere else. There are plenty of restaurants that fill you up with good food, good service and money left in your wallet. Lunch for two costs a whopping $165.

First, great food! The food is innovative without being trendy. Wait staff are extraordinarily attentive and friendly without being in the least intrusive. A wonderful place for a special occasion, especially with your One-and-Only. The atmosphere is comfortable and warm, and quiet enough to actually have a conversation. We love this place, and would recommend it to anyone who likes wonderful food, exceptional service and a civilized atmosphere.

We went for Easter lunch and in honor of that I ordered a raviolo because it has an egg in it. It was delicious! We also order fried pasta, risotto and pork roast and they were equally delicious!!

Food, ambiance and service were excellent Fruitti di Mare was amazing. Huge prawns mussels, clams and calamari all in a delicious tomato broth with a giant crouton and saffron ailoi. Also had Hamachi crudo served on the a Himalayan salt block. Not to be missed.

My wife and I dined at Bottega for our anniversary. We were disappointed. They gave us an index card with Happy Anniversary written on it. They also wrote the same in Italian in our dessert plate. If we had not ordered, and paid for dessert, the index card would have been the only acknowledgement of our anniversary from this expensive restaurant. We had gone to Mustard’s for lunch, and they gave us two glasses of champagne. Despite the good quality of the food and service, we have several other restaurant choices we will patronize before considering Bottega again.

Portions were small and prices were high for the quality and portions. Locals feel the same as us. Go your selves a favor and go across the street to Bouchon
