The server was the best part of the experience. The menu presented was not the menu found on their website and so we were very disappointed that the dishes we wanted were not available. We were also disappointed to discover that the descriptions of the dishes in the restaurant menu were not accurate. I ordered a fettucine carbonara that, fortunately for me, the server warned me was not the traditional carbonara. What he described was not at all what it said in the menu so I had to change my selection. The NY sirloin was way overpriced at $90. Not even Capital Grill, Ruth's Chris or any other great steak house charges that. Overall, no one in our party of four really got what they originally wanted to eat because of these things. We all had to settle for something else or go elsewhere. If you're looking for Italian food, this is not the place unless you are familiar with "California" Italian. It's definitely not New York, Boston, Providence or Chicago Italian. Be careful when you order; ask lots of questions because you may end up really disappointed as we were. The server was helpful in leading us to something we could actually eat. Also, be careful about sharing. We were a party of four and in fact we ordered four appetizers (two appetizers times 2 orders each); but because we wanted to share each of the two types of appetizers, we were charged for extra plates. And this, by the way, was not called out on the menu or by the server.

We went to Bottega upon recommendation of a friend from Hawaii and celebrate our 10th anniversary trip to Napa.

Food was very good but service was just average. It was not personable and we did not feel welcome. Maybe that’s the norm but we had actually wonderful service at Bouchon and R&D which are less expensive than Bottega.
I live in Hawaii where there is such wonderful service (Aloha spirit), so I’m probably spoiled.

We can't say enough about the excellent food and service that we had at Bottega Napa Valley. My wife had the pork shoulder and I had the spare ribs and both were excellent. Thank you for a lovely dinner!

This is our second visit to Bottega. The environment and ambience is great and a beautiful setting for our anniversary. The waiter was very straight forward and a little off putting. Fortunately, we met a lovely couple and we sat down next to them and chatted all night. For our main course we shared branzino and a pasta dish. The pasta was very rich and very good. The branzino was bland.
Dessert was delicious and chocolatey like we love. We had a nice "happy anniversary" card on the table from the restaurant. Personally, I was surprised they didn't offer us dessert "on the house" when a couple near us was served dessert with a candle and comped. Not sure we'd return with all the great choices in the valley.

Having been to Bottega many times, this time was disappointing. It wasn’t bad exactly, it just wasn’t very good. Everyone in our party of 4 agreed. The service was great, the food was just average.

Scotty was fabulous as our server. Very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive, yet not overbearing. All courses from appetizer to dessert were fantastic.

Our food and service were both very good, but they had a plumbing issue that caused a sewer gas smell during much of our meal. The hostess seemed unconcerned about the issue.

As usual, the food was spectacularly good. We had the crudo special appetizer and the special bronzino, both excellent fish dishes. Several old standbys, like meatballs, were as good as ever. And the ravioli was rich and flavorful. Not a misstep in food or service. A wonderful experience.

Birthday lunch at Bottega, this great venue never disappoints. Started with the Calamari, perfectly cooked, followed by the short rib cheeseburger and truffle fries. Washed it down with David Arthur Meritaggio. Outstanding lunch, wonderful day in Yountville.

I've gone to Bottega so many times - I think it has decreased it's quality. My favorite mushrooms and polenta dish was watery as was the balsamic vinegar, the pasta with charcoal was odd, my whole fished was stuffed with an overly aggressive vinegar bread salad and the croutons were so hard they wouldn't cut. The dessert for $12 was one scoop of ice cream although the passion fruit flavor was great. Sorry to have to say I won't be back for a long time. The service was good however but they didn't clean the breadcrumbs off the table before putting the dessert plate right on top of them - not very pleasant.

This was the second time I’ve eaten at Bottega. While we had reservations via Open Table, we had to wait almost 30 min for our table. The food was just as tasty as I remembered from our initial visit 3 years previous. The service was very slow on this visit. My view is get an early reservation as they seem to hit on all cylinders. If you can only get a late time slot, you might want to chose some where else.

The service at this once great restaurant has gone way down hill. From the hostess taking her sweet time to greet us or have the table set, to the server not showing up until we had to wave at someone, to dirty plates piling up on our table until we asked for them to be removed, this was our worst experience there and won’t soon go back. We just left before our coffee could be delivered at the end of the meal. Took so long. Not worth the price anymore.

This place blew us away! Steve our server was AMAZING, he was patient and knowledgeable and suggested an amazing wine that the table next to us ended up liking over their Silver Oak and it’s half the price! I’ve been dreaming about the RAVIOLI since my last bite! I considered eating there 2 out of the 3 nights I was in town!
Order the ravioli (obv), short rib meatballs, burrata, and the calamari! All exquisite! Thank you!

Bottega is one of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley and in the entire San Francisco Bay Area. I am never disappointed when I eat there but this time was the best. We were early for our reservation but they seated us right away. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made a recommendation that turned out to be so wonderful that I am still dreaming about it. All the waitstaff were unobtrusive and extremely efficient and available. The pacing of the meal was perfect. No rushing, no long waits. But the food itself is the real star. I don’t know how anyone can make a spaghetti and red sauce dish taste so amazing. The pork was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The polenta is amazing with the scrumptious sauce and our desserts—I am a sorbet addict—were fantastic. The wine list is ample; we were driving so limited ourselves to a small carafe that was the perfect amount for two. Although there were people all around us my husband and I were able to carry on a conversation using our normal voices, no shouting to be heard across the table. The room we sat in, the one with the wood oven in it, is perfectly laid out and sound designed to make it so comfortable. This is just a great all around restaurant. I cannot wait to go back soon.

Bottega remains one of our favourite Italian restaurants! We had a late lunch on this occasion and we enjoyed all of our dishes! Of mention this time were the calamari as an appetizer, the egg ravioli for secondi, and finally the quail and sausage and the amazingly tasty short rib burger.

We started our New Year’s luncheon with our favorite octopus appetizer (Polpo alla Griglia), which we have had before and is always excellent. Unfortunately, both the rabbit entree (Rigatoni al Coniglio) and quail entree were disappointing. There was only about a spoonful of rabbit sugo and it was not well seasoned. The quail was undercooked and also not tasty. Overall, these were not two entrees that one would expect in a well-respected restaurant in Yountville. The service was efficient and friendly.

Phenomenal wine list. Had a fantastic gaja with an interesting appetizer with the bread and Brussels. The pork loin main was the best I ever had. A must! Annoying people next to us. All they were doing was posting and taking photos. Ordered one dish and no wine. They had no appreciation for the complexity of the dishes and wine pairing. They should have an area allocated to no phones. This is an awesome restaurant third time there.
I also bought two bottles of the MDC hand painted Syrah blend. Sommelier provided a taste. Amazing.

Amazing food and good (though not great, as our water glasses sat empty until we asked for refills) service. Wonderful place for lunch of dinner, either with friends or on a date-night. Highly recommend this warm, lovely place.

This was our second time at Bottega. While we were seated promptly, the table that we were seated at was not set up completely. It was missing silverware and the wine glasses on the table were dirty (had lipstick stains on the glass) Our server seemed overly busy that day as she only checked in with us one time. Despite that, the food was phenomenal and the bus gal that removed the plates and refreshed our glasses with water were great.

$130 40oz steak was terrible. No flavor, chewy and fatty. Service was below average, as server and bus were unengaged. Very disappointing experience.

The dinner was delicious as was the dessert. Excellent service in a quiet and cozy atmosphere. My only complaint was the $ 35.00 corkage I found very expensive especially when my husband was the one who served the wine during dinner, the waiter was not attentive to fill the glasses.

I ordered my steak well done but got it medium rare. Returned to the kitchen and they got it right the second time but of course my husband was already done with his meal by the time I got mine.
