Food was amazing, beyond that - the experience sucked. We waited about 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated and when we finally were, we were greeted by the Sommelier 10 minutes after being seated - not our server. Wine was presented and served before we ever saw Murph. Because we had our menus open he assumed we needed more time - kept saying just take your time I’ll be back - I didn’t need time I wanted suggestions, or an explanation of the menu - portion sizes, suggestions for courses. Bread came with our appetizers. Pastas (the raviolo was beyond rich and amazing) were out shortly after, and he never would have known because he didn’t check on us. The table next to us got great service, he spent the entire time we dined talking to them. We skipped dessert - even though the doughnuts looked awesome - because Murph again said just take you time enjoy the wine instead and walked away. Raymond the busser was great, and he spent much more time with us than our server. I left a crappy tip knowing he would have to tip out Raymond, and he didn’t need punished for Murph’s inability to provide decent service - and that’s really the only reason. If I had cash I would have tipped Raymond separately. I spoke with the manager after dinner and he didn’t seem to care - said that seems weird people usually come here for the Murph show.
Thank goodness the food was good - because I have never felt more ignored as a customer.
The food was fantastic and not over-priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our date there. However, I would probably bring my own wine next time.
I can't say enough good about this restaurant. Everything was absolutely fantastic! The service was great, the food was fabulous and the wine list was incredible. This was not an inexpensive meal, but it was worth every penny and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
One of the best dinners I have had in yountville. Calamari chicken and Pinot was perfect.
Beautiful place to celebrate! Excellent service and superb food! The Burrata salad was to die for!
Antipasti and dessert was amazing! Be careful choosing right pasta!
Best of the best!
Poor service and undercooked food.
Have eaten here many times and the food has always been delicious until this time. Wasn't impressed, but Michael was not there. When he's there, the food is impeccable! The service was great, just the food was disappointing this time.
I have been here several times and each time has been memorable. The food is out of this world. I come mainly for the octupus salad and shortrib cheesburger. The special risotto was the best I ever had. The food is a bit pricey, but worth every penny!!
The food was great. Only complaint was that it took over an hour for our food to arrive after placing our order....additionally we were seated 30 mins after our reservation time....so they definitely weren’t hitting on all cylinders when we were there.
Love, love, love this restaurant. The patio is my favorite spot. Service perfect, food really delicious.
Food was not special.
So many flies flying during dining.
They did it agasin...magnificent Italian food...especially the polenta under glass which I have had first years ago. Great cocktails with friendly bartender, delicious pasta dishes including their corn pasta, tomato w burata salad. And a 20 oz rib eye to beat the band!!
Definitely a must stop in town of many good restaurants.
Not nearly as good as on previous visits
They didn’t do anything special for our anniversary even though I had added a special note. But other than that it was excellent
Excellent food and service!! Awesome assistant GM William. Made us feel at home. The flavors experienced were exceptional.
It was great. Loved the main course...branzino! Tasted everybody else’s and they also were delish and good sized portions. Antoinette salad was ok, nothing special and tuna appetizer on a salt slab was beautiful but skimpy! We had an expensive champagne. Dessert was very good, nice sized and very tasty. Overall I loved it.
Service could have been better. Server was slow.
Celebrated my birthday at my favorite restaurant in Yountville. Superb food, wonderful ambiance and great service!
Excellent food , great service
Menu selections change but all are awesome
Service was pretty terrible. We were seated inside, but I asked to sit outside once I discovered that it was quite a bit warmer inside than it was outside. (We weren't asked our preference.) The server took our order for cocktails and a starter. We had time for a sip or two of our cocktails before the starter arrived. It didn't seem as warm to me as it should have been, but I thought it was alright. My husband disagrees. I can't recall the name of the dish, but it tasted like Pizza Hut pizza. We finished the dish, and nobody came to take our dinner order so we decided to leave. I told the hostess we wanted to leave and asked for the check. I told her I'd pay for the starter, but not the drinks as we didn't really have an opportunity to drink them. She brought a check for all three, so we waited some more for the manager to clear it up. He did, of course, in the same mediocre way that we'd come to expect of this place. After I paid for the barely warm, Pizza Hut-inspired dish, we went to Bistro Jeanty and had a fantastic meal with fantastic service.
What a great meal we had. We started off with the shaved Brussels sprouts in a delish Meyer lemon almond mixture
And heirloom tomatoes stuffed with bursts cheese and caviar on top.
For the main, we shared the branzino & chicken. Both were very delish
Loved this place
A little disappointed this time. Service was just okay. Part of the food was good. This is my fourth time visiting this restaurant. In from Chicago. Branzino was very good but did not appreciate and ugly face looking at me. Had to actually cover with a bread plate. Some type of vegetable that had much to be desired. That needed improvement.
One thing they did not do was to have bleu cheese olives for a Martini. So do not understand that. Martini's all over the US are served with bleu cheese olives. Here in wine country, the land of great food, great chefs, great wine, great weather and yet they cannot accommodate for something so simple. Of well.
1. Servers must have been under the influence. One spilled wine all over an appetizer and didn’t notice. The way she poured the expensive wine out of the bottle was wild.
2. Another server was provided 2 credit cards and only returned with one. He never apologized or offered to split the bill despite that being the reason for providing 2 cards.
3. Pasta was undercooked and very chewy.
4. Food was also not hot by the time it made its way to our table.
Would never go back.
This was our second time at Bottega. It was definitely better the first time when we went 3 years ago, but it was still a great experience. Both pasta dishes we had were very tasty and beautifully presented. The grilled meatballs we had as an appetizer were very good as well. The wine (Chiarello rose) was not so great and probably detracted from the overall experience a bit -- I wish our waiter would have warned us! We sat outside on the patio which was very pleasant. We will be back on our next trip to wine country.
Our waiter was very attentive - checking in often to see if we had questions about the menu. He made suggestions when asked!
The food was fabulous all the way around & the 2 appetizers exceeded our expectations!!
We liked the food. Service was slow to begin with which is why I am marking them down a bit.
Amazing food, ambiance and service! Excellent and a must if you're in Napa! The brussel sprout salad and tomahawk are amazing!
As always this is a great restaurant in Yountville. We celebrated our anniversary w an awesome late lunch. Nothing but great things to say about the restaurant, staff and service. This is one of our go to spots in Wine country. We’ll be back soon. We brought our own wine and corkage fee was reasonable.
Great company, service, food and wine. Five stars!
Fabulous!! One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Sophia Loren pasta was amazing!!
Loved everything about it and wish we had one in NV. Even the ice tea was perfect. If I get the chance I will be back!
It was our second anniversary and I did let them know in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated very near the front door of the restaurant where the bar is located, making for an extremely loud dining experience for us. They did offer to move us after I expressed my dismay for the rowdy patrons in the bar. Of course I declined not wanting to make matters even more uncomfortable. Our overall experience was however enjoyable.
Excellent from start to finish. Wait staff very helpful in guiding to the perfect individual meal for each of us. A definite must do in Yountville!
The service was average. Plate size was small. Expected more from this restaurant based on reviews and recommendations.
Service was horrible , food was good but very small portions
Wonderful. Great wine suggestion from our waiter and the polenta under glass was as delicious as always.
