Located in Hawthorne"s historic Degray house, Bottagra Restaurant opened its doors in early 2008. What was once used as an encampment for General Lafayette's troops during the Revolutionary War has been transformed into a modern, elegant restaurant with the feel and charm of a Tuscan villa. For a Private dining experience, Bottagra Restaurant offers three separate and very distinct rooms. Perfectly suited for corporate events, intimate weddings, or even just a casual dinner with friends our facilities can cater to all you needs. Our Private Dining Room, with seating for up to twenty, features french doors and separate butlers entrance. Our Lounge, with space for fifteen, has an inviting fireplace as well as flat screen television with state-of-the-art audio visual capabilities. Lastly our Wine Room is large enough to accommodate forty quests and is accented with another fireplace and also showcases Bottagra"s extensive collection of fine wines from around the world.

We dined day after Valentine’s Day and everything was fantastic ...We shared the pizza special for appetizer which was one the best pizzas I’ve had in NJ area. My girlfriend had the swordfish (so fresh) and i had the braised beef short ribs with sun dried tomato and goat cheese polenta which was amazing.

P.S if you like Gin try their Premium Gin & Tonics which are made with all fresh ingredients served in a big glass with a bottle of tonic water on the side so u can add the table! Great touch! Beautiful presentation!

The food was delicious! I do wish, however, that the Valentine's Day Menu had more options. Very pricey for only one or two things I would/could eat. I would go back because the food is delicious on a regular night but may skip out on exclusive menus.

All sizzle and no steak. Food was expensive and mediocre at best. Veal Milanese was over cooked as was the Osso Bucco. I understand that it was Valentines Day so very busy. But I didn’t pay anything less for the lower standard of the food.

Valentine’s Day Diner was everything you could want in a great setting, not crowded, the service was very attentive but not pushy.
The food was excellent. I’ll be back soon.

First time at this restaurant. I made a reservation for 4 people at 5:15 on a Sunday. When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated in a small room right off the entrance to the restaurant. Disappointed the dining room was not available. Although the room was not what we expected the food was over the top excellent!!

Everything was fine except the outrageous $9 charge for home made seltzer water. Basically being charged for Tap Water.

Excellent food, impeccable service and lovely ambiance marred by an incredibly annoying noise level. The noise was so pervasive that it was difficult to hear our companion across a table for four. Go when is is not mobbed- EG Sunday through Friday.

Food and service great. Only issue was the space between tables. Wait staff constantly hit the chairs squeezing through tables. Hard for staff and a bit much for guests. Food was great.

Bottagra is as good as it gets. No reason to go to NYC when you have food of this quality in NJ. Creative, exceptional meals served by a friendly, attentive staff , that remembers your name. Great drinks and great conversation with the bartenders makes this a “Cheers” like restaurant environment. Add in Alex and Alexa who great you with a smile, and Angie who treats you like family, and you can’t go anywhere else

Came in with friends. I've been here a couple times and it only gets better. The service is wonderful, they are knowledgeable of the menu and wine list, always a mouth-watering special offered tableside and home-made cocktails that don't skimp on the booze. Wish could come more often. I originally came in after reading online reviews and write-ups in the paper, but now I come back for the food and atmosphere that makes me feel very welcome. Great for dates and, like most recently, just to hang out with some friends for good food and drinks.
