Bottagra Ratings and Reviews
Picked place for belated birthday dinner. Entry was quick and cordial. Shown to table straight away. Wait staff very professional. So far so good.
I ordered tuna appy which was described as sesame coated and when plated was coated in black pepper. Too spicy for my taste. Had it been described correctly would not have ordered it. Hubby ordered carpaccio. Very nice presentation and quite tasty. Fresh and delish.
My entree choice was veal chop med rare. The flavors were amazing but the chop was served rare. Too rare for my liking so I picked at the outer cooked portion and the center was taken away uneaten. Waste of a $40 entree. Hubbies entree was striped bass. Served over black truffle risotto. Excellent choice. Very nice dish.
Home made sorbet and gelato was excellent.
Overall it was a nice time.
Note to self order meat med and not med rare.
Very disappointed, to start they didn't have 2 bottles of wine that were listed, the third bottle was fair at best. My shrimp scampi was mushy way overcooked, my wife's veal too thick and the sauce too thick. Both boys were disappointed in their pasta dishes. Saving grace, we had a gift certificate. Wouldn't recommend.
Friends Holiday Dinner was amazing as usual ...This place never disappoints from the cocktails with their unique glassware to the food down to the choice of music playing in the background ! We all split a few items on the menu and specials and shared everything family style so we can each get a taste ! The owner is constantly walking around greeting everyone making sure all the guests are well taken care of!!
This was our first visit to the restaurant. It was on Christmas Eve so I would expect things were different than on a typical night. Very crowded which caused a little confusion about the reservation. The food was prepared well and serve . I certainly will go back and enjoy it again on a more typical evening without the added excitement of Christmas Eve
This restaurant is consistently first rate. The food is excellently prepared, and the service is top-notch. Very accommodating on substitutions. Nicely spaced tables adds to the ambiance. I always order the Chicken Fantasia, which has all my favorite ingredients - porcini mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes to go along with the chicken. My wife said her grilled salmon with broccoli rabe was terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was excellent, and they allowed us to mix & match sauces & sides. Heavily accented waiter was friendly, but difficult to understand, and was clearly giving preference to the larger parties, brought us the wrong wine. Twice. Hope this was just an isolated incident, as we would love to return for the great food.
We dined at our favorite restaurant, Bottagra, after being away for a few months, and we are happy to say that the service and food as fabulous as always. Two standouts were the escargot over risotto and the lamb Bolognese over calamari shaped pasta with a dollop of fresh ricotta. These two special selections nicely complemented several other appetizers and entries we enjoyed that are listed on the daily menu. The waiters are first rate – friendly and efficient without being pretentious.
It’s been about ten years since Bottagra opened its doors, and through the hard work and creative efforts of the two chef-owners Robert Vicari and Carlo Carbonaro, Bottagra keeps getting better. We recently went to a well-known Manhattan restaurant, and though we had a great dining experience, our dinner at Bottagra was even better!
I was very disappointed in my dinner, my husbands was fine. I have fish with pumpkin risotto, the fish had no flavor and the risotto was worse. the older woman working there was a bit unprofessional and too touchy feely. She was rubbing my husband shoulder and all over him, mind you she never met us before. the noise level was over the top loud.
Amazing as always!! It was a quiet night being it was Halloween but service and food always on point. Wine Down Tuesday special alone is well worth dining out on a Tuesday night. Every bottle of wine under $100 is 1/2 price...it’s a steal!! We will be back!
What another great night out at Bottagra! This restaurant never fails us from the wonderful cocktails to the best Italian food in the area! We were sat in the private room tonight which was cozy and quiet as there was a big event going on in the main dining area. 5 stars
Friday night 7pm reservation. Ran out of special - not sure how you run out on a Fri night at 7 but... Replaced my fish with another - not as good. My wife's veal Milanese was a little charred on the bottom.
Fig special was really good.
Overall - nice place but really expensive for the food. Not sure I would rush back.
I've been to Bottagra on many occasions. Often the music and crowd volume has been too loud. On this particular Thursday evening we were able to have pleasant conversation without battling the room noise.
I ordered two dishes that I rarely eat when out and both were excellent. I must applaud the "Sunday Sauce" - though I wish it included hot Italian sausage instead of sweet.
Service was friendly and attentive.
Looking forward to returning.
