Food is great! Sophisticated atmosphere. Amazing fries, broccoli and Mac and Cheese.
AMAZING food as usual. Service was impeccable (shout out to Dan!). One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. We will be back soon.
I found this gem after researching Yelp looking for a restaurant for beef and not the usual seafood vibe. If I wasn't a resident of Texas, I would return frequently. Roasted Bone Marrow was excellent. My husband had the Rib Eye and said it was great. The Pork Belly Mac and Cheese and the Poutine Style Twice Baked "Loaded" Potato are to die for!!! Well worth the trip, and next time I am in Boston it will be a MUST visit again spot.
Fantastic meal and fantastic service. We had a great meal and Dillon our server was exceptional. Would recommend for any dining experience. It is not cheap but the meal was well worth it and the experience was terrific.
First time there and I loved it. I will be back sooner than later
We went for Brunch totally exceeded my expectations! They give you homemade cinnabuns in a cast iron skillet to start! Need I say more?! The service was stellar, drinks were great and the food is fantastic we will definitely return!
Our waiter Patrick was very accommodating. When my meal had to go back, he apologize a couple of times. When we asked for hot coffee, he accommodated us. He served brunch at 11 and that can be tough because there are the small things people need... extra cream, hotter coffee, since my meal went back, so did my silverware. Whatever came up, he was very gracious and responsive. I hope I am remembering his name correctly.... he served a party of 4 at 11:00 on Sunday April 15th. It was my husband's birthday.
Great meal and great service. Pricy, but a very nice treat!
First time at B Chops. Loved it. All the ambiance and quality of capital Grill at a lesser cost. Don’t know why it took us so long to visit.
Great night, food was excellent one of our best meals we’ve had
Boston Chops continues to lead the pack when it comes to neighborhood dining. The food is always excellent, the service is seamless and the ambiance is energetic without being too loud.
This was the worst experience I have had at Boston Chops. The food was great but the service was terrible. When you order steak, they always bring a steak knife before your meal. This time it took 10 minutes to get the server to bring one. Next, we order a side item to split and it came after we were done eating. This should have been taken off the bill but instead he thru it in a to go bag and we paid for it. It was only $5 but it’s the principle. Last, every table around us had the sticky buns brought out before their meal. Our server didn’t ask if we wanted them, which we shouldn’t have to since it’s normally part of brunch. If the server had been really busy, I would understand, but he was standing around talking. After this experience, we will look for a new brunch place. We live around the corner from the restaurant, so it’s really convenient but not worth it when take into account the service.
First Time diner @ Boston Chops and I'm pretty sure my wife and I are switching from Mooo (another respectable steak house) to here.
Decor: somewhat typical of steakhouses; dark shades, gleaming glassware, cozy tables. Ambience is good.
Menu: good variation and prices reasonable for a steakhouse. Wine menu is excellent with good variety and is kept updated.
Food: outstanding. I had the 18oz rib eye and it was cooked exactly the way I wanted. My wife had the 14oz filet and she said it was "melt in your mouth" delicious. We both had sides (sour cream & horseradish mash for her and bacon roasted brussels for myself) and they were both killer. Not a huge amount per serving (for the sides), but the quality far made up for the quantity and realistically, who wants a pound of mashed potatoes after chowing down a steak? My wife who isn't a fan of brussel sprouts wanted more!
Service: IMPECCABLE! *Easily* 5-star service. Huge shout-out to our server Pamela who worked with us on selecting wine, and when I joked that my wife and I have been together over 13 years and haven't killed each other yet, champagne appeared a few minutes later at the table in celebration (along with a delicious plate of oysters served gratis!). Completely unexpected and very well appreciated! Service was very attentive but non-intrusive and I could see her (and the other servers as well) frequently passing by and visually checking their tables. Water was filled whenever glasses were down to half, wine was decanted before glasses were emptied and spot-checks on each table were done to ensure patrons were satisfied with their meal and to see if anything was needed. This speaks volumes for not only the servers, but the training they received as well.
Summary: I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in Boston and I'm also looking forward to their new location (Downtown Crossing) coming soon.
Chops is our go-to restaurant, for a night “when we don’t feel like cooking”, or we want a fun night out, to a special celebration. Never fails to provide the best experience, the best food, the nicest servers, and the best atmosphere. We can always hear each other when talking. We request a high-top by the bar because the atmosphere always inspires spontaneous conversation with people seated adjacent. Makes for a fun night.
Food, service and restaurant were excellent!
We had an amazing experience at Boston Chops. The food was outstanding, the pacing of drinks/apps/main meal was perfect. Service was attentive, not over-bearing. And the complimentary champagne and dessert wine was really wonderful and made our celebration even more joyful! Plus, my in-laws, who were visiting from out of town, said it was the best meal they think they've ever had.
Gutes Essen, leider sehr lange darauf gewartet obwohl das Restaurant nur halb voll war.
Steaks really not up to hype. Just ok. Better steaks at the myriad other steak houses around town. A bit disappointed actually especially since I was hosting a few out of town friends.
Amazing steak and plenty of options to choose from, good portions to share
Once again we really enjoyed the wine night at Boston Chops. The food is always wonderful and paired beautifully with wine. You'll find us at Boston Chops on the 1st Monday of the month for their wine night!
Boston Chops is hands down the best steak house in New England.
This place was great!
We went for great steaks and to celebrate our birthdays, we were not disappointed, every part of our dinner was amazing and the service was friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back.
The service, the food, the atmosphere-- everything was incredible as always. Boston Chops is always our first stop when we are in Boston.
Overall very nice. The waitress gave ya a complementary flute of champagne for our anniversary which was very nice.
I am a regular patron of this restaurant and noticed that the Caesar salad was not prepared with the same elegance. Perhaps this was because I ordered off the dine Out Boston menu, but in my opinion that shouldn’t matter.
We visited during Dine Out Boston and had a great prix fixed 3 course menu and supplemented with mussels app which was to die for (the broth especially)
The food, presentation and atmosphere were all great, but the salt was a little too extra on everything ; even the veggies.
Great food and great service! Will return
This was my second time back at Boston Chops. I had good experience at the first visit and wanted to share this with my family when they’re in town visiting. It was a shame the food was too salty that we had to ask the waiter to bring us some fresh ones without dressing.
the Atmosphere was great! I enjoyed the cozy, laid-back and comfortable vibe of the restaurant. the food was tasty as well and the waiter Thomas was awesome!!!
Average steak house
We already knew we loved Chops so we went in with high expectations. As always we were thrilled with our evening. The seafood tower was delicious. We went with the dine out menu afterwards and we enjoyed all of our selections. LOVE to get a good rare steak that comes out RARE! The wine list is super fun and really well priced. My only regret was I forget our server's name and he was amazing. The perfect amount of clever and funny while always professional. The steps of service were paced beautifully, we weren't ever rushed or waiting. We will be back!
Steak was undercooked and mediocre for such a nice restaurant.
Was amazing. Great food and great service.
Wonderful experience! I took my father here as a gift and we had an excellent time. The staff was accommodating in placing us in a more quiet section of the neighborhood and the service was attentive and kind.
The food was wonderful, everything tasted fresh and the sides were well portioned for the price. The only quibble I had was that our ribeye steaks were a bit on the thin side, I prefer a thicker cut of meat but that's my preference and probably wouldn't bother anyone else. The menu standouts for me were the pork belly mac and cheese and the onion rings with spicy aioli.
Would definitely come back, keep up the good work!
The restaurant was very trendy in decor and upbeat. The steak was delicious, but the sides were just ok. We had a really nice waiter, but the front end staff fell a little short. We were visiting Boston from NY and were running late. I called about an hour before our reservation to let them know and to ask if there was anyway we could arrive a little later, we were told no, because there were no tables. After getting dressed and having a better idea on time we would be able to get there I decided to give them another call. This time I spoke to a different person who said she would get us a table, but she needed the table by 8:30 for their next reservation. (It was only 6:00 so we had more then enough time to eat) When we arrived it was 10 minutes later then we expected to get there, (remember we are not from the area so we got lost and there is no parking! We wound up having to pay $20 for valet). The hostess whom I had spoken to earlier said because we got there ten minutes later then expected that we would now have to sit at the bar. When I said, but I thought the table was available till 8:30? She then said well if you could promise to be done before 8:30 we can seat you. (It was 2 of us and only 6:30)! Of course we would be finished before 8:30. Lol While eating we felt that the waiter and bus boy was rushing to make sure we were out of there, when all along there were two empty tables the entire time! We finished with plenty of time to spare, and even joked about it with the waiter and hostess, but honestly, it was completely unnecessary! Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth.
We went during Dine Out Boston and had a fabulous 3-course dinner!
Excellent restaurant and Pamela was awesome!
Spicy broccoli and prime ribeye! Match made in heaven!
It was great. Food was delicious. Paired with a bottle of wine and some close friends and you’ll have a great night.
