Boston Chops Ratings and Reviews
Authentic steakhouse which fits the neighborhood perfectly! In a land of small plates known as the South End, Boston Chips is a welcome presence for a full plate meal and upscale experience. Sometimes a man needs a good steak and stiff cocktail to come back to center from a long week at work. Boston Chops delivered that and more during my visit. I will definitely be coming back!
This was our second visit after a bad first experience where we waited over an hour for our food and had to send our steak back twice for being undercooked. We did write to management and were given a gift card asking us to return and give it another try. Unfortunately, despite being seated at opening at 5 pm we once again waited over 45 minutes for our meal and had to send both steaks back for being undercooked. It is important to note that there were only about 15 other people seated for dinner and an empty bar.. I am not sure why it would take so long for the steak to cook. It was like dejavu all over again. Our waiter was great but we will not be back!
Came here for my boyfriends birthday! Overall the hostess and waitress were amazing, food was also amazing. I told them it was his birthday and they charged us for the dessert. Only place I’ve ever been to that charged for a birthday dessert, and didn’t even give a choice. Would never celebrate a special event here again.
Amazing quality food and great service as well! You don’t have to go find your waiter if you have any questions or need something because they always check up on you and provide you with any questions you have as well as personal favorites in the menu if you are having trouble deciding! Definitley not an every night thing though as the menu was a little expensive, but amazing for special occasions!
We went for the New Years Eve prix fixe dinner. The entire experience was disappointing, as we felt like we were on an assembly line being pushed through the entire meal. The food was mediocre and the service was abrupt and unfriendly. I had eaten here twice before and had far better meals so am not sure if it was because it was NYE or if the quality has declined. I do not plan to return based on this experience.
We had a 5:00 reservation on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was fairly empty at this time. The service was excellent, both the bartender and our server were friendly and knowledgeable. There was a price fixe menu, with plenty of choices. We had the oysters and shrimp as well as the steak tartare for appetizers. It was all very tasty and high quality. My only complaint is that the steak tartare should have been diced more finely as the large chunks of meat with fat running through it were unappetizing. We also had the chateau briand and the tuna as our entrees. These meals were delicious except for one thing, neither protein was seasoned at all. A little salt and pepper both on the steak and the tuna would have went a long way. Also, we had to ask the busboy to bring fresh ground pepper to the table. We had the chocolate caramel dulce for dessert and it was fabulous. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
I booked this as an evening out with friends who were visiting between Christmas and New Year, for a special treat!
I was not disappointed at all!!
The food was amazing!
IF I had to find a fault, it would be that there appears to be a lot of staff , but service was a bit hit and miss! Our waiter was great with his knowledge, but we were left for long periods with no drinks.
Be advised, the 'sides' are big enough to share between 2, and the tower of onion rings is HUGE!! :)
The steaks were beyond fantastic... I cannot rate them highly enough!!
Overall, I can't wait to return!
Went there twice on the same day. Had a fantastic brunch on Dec 24th, then liked it so much that we made a reservation for Christmas eve. Did not regret it. Service was phenomenal. And the food quality excellent (we mostly had steaks). Atmosphere was great with strong music background (at last a place where you can hear the music...). Value of quality of experience per money spent is great. You feel like you get your money's worth.
My partner and I had a great experience at Boston Chops! We were using a Gilt City deal and I had indicated on our OpenTable reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. The food was amazing! We ordered off the fixed Gilt City brunch menu and got the pecan sticky buns, the brisket shank and tongue hash (aka fancy poutine), the chorizo and egg sandwich, the lobster Benedict, and the Boston cream popovers, and everything was SO GOOD. We're about to leave Boston in a month or so, but I wish we had found this place earlier! All the food was on point (especially the hash, lobster Benedict, and popovers) and they even gave us two complimentary glasses of sparkling rose to celebrate our anniversary! Great food, great service, great time!
