Bosphorus Cafe & Grill
n23 towards Manorhaven
A hidden gem. My friend told me about it and not sure I would have found it without her precise directions. So glad I did. Warm, friendly, attentive service. Yummy bread. Delicious food. The grilled branzino filet was perfectly prepared. Next time, I must try the appetizers as they look/sound great. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside---basically adjoining the driveway. Don't let that dissuade you. Go and enjoy!
The food was very good but a touch pricey compared to a place like Ravagh. The service was prompt but not very friendly.
Food not great like it was at first and they have taken things off the menu we used to like; disappointing.
Food authentic, colorful and well presented..... convenient parking.
Great food and wait staff at reasonable prices.
Food is very good and servers are attentive. The restaurant is small but not noisy. Nice menu selections. Good salads and delicious puffy bread. Not inexpensive especially with drinks and dessert but highly recommended.
The food is consistently good. I had the lamb shank cooked over mashed eggplant and it was delicious, very, very tender and tasty. My husband had the salmon which is always cooked to our requests, and always good too.
They also serve this puffed bread that comes right from the oven, and with their hummus is just perfect.
The wait stafff was super friendly & attentive.
The food was tasty. Portions were generous
We had to ask for the price fixed menu.
We were not given bread. Maybe because we ordered a special bread
They did not have decaf coffee. Very strange. He said they ran out.
Y husband and I have visited the restaurant many times The food is consistently delicious! Last time we were there though it was so warm!!!
Delicious every time
As always the food is spectacular and the owner is friendly and remembers you so it feels like home!
Most important: the food is delicious from the bread to main dishes. Servers are attentive and pleasant.
Very good - as always. Attentive service. Good food served attractively and well prepared. Lamb kebab, tender and cooked perfectly. Shephard's Salad was fresh, vibrant, and light. Save room for the shredded wheat dessert
Food was outstanding; Service fantastic; From appetizers to dessert an outstanding meal.
The food was absolutely excellent. For a party of two, we ordered a vegetable pide and mixed grill platter which was more than enough for us to share, with a lot of variety and great taste. The wine was reasonably priced and a great complement to the meal, and the service is one of the best I've had in Port Washington (La Piccolo Liguria comes to mind). I will definitely be coming back here with larger parties for even more variety, because the menu is large and there's more I want to try!
One of my favorite local restaurants. The food is always wonderful from the explosion of taste to the presentation. Everything is always made to perfection. Really one of the best turkish restaurants I have eaten in in the NY area. Definitely worth the drive.
A neighborhood gem can't wait to go back
Surprisingly good. We came to this restaurant after reading universally good reviews here on Open Table. We arrived to find a full restaurant - the owner quickly found a table and chairs and made new outdoor seating for us within minutes of our arrival. When he heard it was our first time there, he pushed aside the waiter so he could personally explain the menu. We had a super dinner of a crazy specialty inflated bread, fresh humus, grilled branzino and veggies cooked to perfection. Even the wine by the glass was excellent. I think indoors in the cold weather would be more cramped and noisy - but our experience outdoors on a summer night was perfection. We'll be back!
Wow! We ate rather late after a day of sailing, so it's hard to comment on noise and ambiance. The food was spectacular. One of our party grew up in Israel. Another spent time there. Two of us have visited Turkey. We all seek out Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants and agreed that this restaurant will be on our respective must-visit-at-every-opportunity list.
Used to be great. They got very greedy and both quality and quantity have significantly declined!! Not going back.
Dishes were well prepared and tasty.
Pricing was a bit high compared to similar local cuisine and ambiance.
Bosphorus is a neighborhood restaurant that offers real good food and drink. The atmosphere is casual and the wait staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. They will recommend dishes that you would not ordinarily try and they turn out to be delicious. We eat there often.
Always fresh and very delicious.
Never say no!
Bosphorus is a relatively new restaurant. It is a neighborhood gem. The area has been revamped. The outside of this and the adjoining stores are covered with a lovely grey siding with a burgundy trim. The inside is small but they have maximized the space. The menu is small but you can certainly find something to eat. The food is plentiful, delicious and appealing. The atmosphere is pleasant as is the staff. We were greeted both coming and going and thanked for our business.
Great food. Authentic Turkish food. The bread is amazing. Closest Turkish food without going to Turkey. Worth the trip to Port Washington. Dinner is crowded so make a reservation. Parking can be a problem.
Wonderful first time experience. We will be back and with friends!
Service and food was excellent. Will definitely eat there again!
This is the second or third time that they have not logged us in properly and open table has sent me an email that I was a no show. It's one thing for that to happen once but numerous times is unacceptable.
Was no problem getting a reservation and brought friends who really enjoyed it and were comfortable. They would go again.
Great food! It was my daughters' birthday
Good food for everyone
I've been to Bosphorus Grill many times and would highly recommend them. The food is delicious! The service is very good and the wait staff is attentive.
Love love love this place - amazing food and personal attention from the owner. Sangria is the best I've ever had.
Very tasty Turkish style cooking. Excellent friendly service. Will return.
A great find! My wife had the Moussaka, very hot temperature wise, but a very full meal. I had the mixed grill which also provided a very generous portion. The variety of meats on the plate provided a wonderful way to sample the different kebabs, and I couldn't get enough of the jasmine rice. So glad we found this place, we will definitely be back.
I love this place. The food is so good. We sat outside, which was a treat.
Food is quite good. Not fancy but very tasty. Small neighborhood find.
Great introduction to Turkish food. Our waiter was fun, engaging and patient. Our group found the lamb kebobs, spinach/feta pide, falafel very good. Appetizers were a little small for sharing, but the entree portions were good size. Outdoor seating was pleasant enough, just a little tight.
Food is great. Excellent quality, well-prepared and large portions. Friendly service. You feel welcomed and a valued customer. We've come back many times and never hesitate to recommend it to friends. A valued addition to the vibrant Port Washington dining scene.
