Bosley on Brady in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a steak and seafood restaurant with a strong Key West influence. For starters at Bosley on Brady, try the black and blue tuna, crispy calamari, crab & artichoke dip with grilled pita or watermelon salad. There is a variety of other starters available as well. Mains are heavy on seafood, with offerings like Florida grouper, shrimp primavera, brown sugar Atlantic salmon and fire seared sea scallops. You can also enjoy the bone-in pork chop or ribeye or the NY strip steak.
For dessert at Bosley on Brady, you might select the blueberry cobbler or decadent chocolate block. There is also an extensive drinks menu, so you can enjoy a drink before, after or with your meal.
Got a call saying they were closed for remodeling. Never went to restaurant. No rating to give.
Great place for seafood dishes. Great little place on the East side. Drinks were very good as well.
Thought this would be more interesting than it was; Oysters on the half shell were served at room temp - not on ice... very old interior and unimaginative menu. It was OK- we had fun anyway. The server seemed inexperienced but tried hard and that was appreciated. With all of the other area restaurants I'm not sure I'd go back, although we were there on a Monday and I understand they have a better vibe during busier nights.
Great dining experience. Three friends together to celebrate a birthday. Had the Florida grouper, which was top notch. Both friends enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Had the caeser salad - again tasty. Special marks for the grilled romaine salad, tho. Ambiance is fine, but not as interesting as I'd expected. I want to give a high-5 to our waiter (Chip?), whom is quite entertaining and provided excellent service and info.
Hands down best seafood in town! Not just fresh but sooooo flavorful. Our waitress was just as cute as could be, was very helpful with the menu as well! I'll definitely be going back
The service was great and some very unique dishes. The grouper was overdone though and very dry. Loved the grilled romaine.
Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. We especially appreciated the knowledgeable guidance from Marshall the bartender with respect to the wine list.
Food was good. Not great. Flavor was disappointing. Service was amateur. Ambiance nothing special. I was disappointed.
Great little restaurant. Our server was fantastic! Good food, good portions.
We had a really nice meal, food was great, but somewhat pricey. It took a long time to get our check which was a bad way to end, but otherwise service was good.
The food is fantastic. The waiter was engaging, but spoke very fast. I would definitely eat here again.
great food. ridiculously noisy. No real conversation possible
The seafood is great. They also have notes on the menu for gluten free foods. Very good food for the value. Will go back.
Appetizers were ok but fish (grouper) was overlooked and salty.
We walked from the water (came to Milwaukee by boat) and we were told Brady Street was the place to go for lots of options. I saw that Bosley on Brady was categorized for seafood so that's why we picked it. The place was packed, but we got a table for the 2 of us right away, and were greeted by our waiter Jesse who was great. Started by ordering a bottle of the Frank Family Chardonnay, one of our favorite wineries from Napa. We shared the "Devils on Horseback" appetizer: gorgonzola wrapped dates, wrapped in bacon with a ginger orange sauce! They were outstanding! We both ordered the sea scallops which were amazing, done perfectly and big. They came with a pancetta and blue cheese risotto which was delicious. I was a little worried that the blue cheese may be too strong for me but it was a delicate hint and I loved it. For dessert we shared a bowl of fresh fruit...blackberries, raspberries, blueberries with some fresh whipped cream . The perfect ending. If you haven't tried this restaurant you are missing out. We will go back, the next time we are in Milwaukee.
In my opinion the best in Milwaukee
Great Calamari, excellent wine list, great service
The wine expert was spot-on
It's been a long time since we dined at Bosley's on Brady. When we first walked in my husband was ready to immediately leave. He hadn't recalled it was just another dark Milwaukee bar. We remembered the great Key West artwork that Michelle and Jeff Green had originally mounted on the dining room walls - now replaced with lots of old mirror frames (which unfortunately just mirrored the dark and rather dingy interior.) That been said we were given a window seat and watched the sidewalk crowd enjoying their value priced food and drink featured for their happy hour. Our seafood medley was great as was the bottle of wine. My Key West martini was good except for the strange gingerbread crumbs on the glass's rims. So the this mistep and the need for some brighter decor was the only big disappointment of the evening. Yes, we truly enjoyed our food and drink and will recommended it with the warning that it isn't the elegant dining it used to be.
Food was excellent, I had scallops and risotto, waiter was fun and attentive and provided great service.
There was a bachelorette party with about 12 ladies at a table close to us and it was too loud to carry on a decent conversation.
Celebrating our sons birthday.
First the good: were seated promptly and menus/water arrived very quickly. Server introduced himself (more on him later) and drink orders taken & specials explained. He had a trainee shadowing him. Took quite a while for drinks to arrive but food was served at reasonable pace and was outstanding. All four had different entrees and all were excellent. When we declined dessert a piece of key-lime was served with a sparkler & forks..a very nice touch.
The disappointment: Our waiter seemed to "professional". Seemed too stiff for my tastes. He certainly took good care of us but with little emotion, no engagement. The trainee seemed ill at ease even though I tried to engage her..not unpleasant, just seemed uncomfortable. The other thing that seemed a bit strange was the brown "butcher paper" used to cover the table. Our bill was well over $300 and think that should have entitled us to eat on cloth.
So while the meal was excellent not sure I would return.
Best dinner out in long time. Great service and the food was tremendous.
Second time and the food was excellent again. Just a very enjoyable and unique place. The stuffed date appetizer is wonderful.
Window seating, attentive staff, efficient service, delicious food. Plenty of time to get to the symphony...
Always great food, great service, and great ambiance!
The foods good better than I expected and the dessert was delicious. TRY THE KEY LIME PIE
Went on a Tuesday night so, bar as we walked through was buzzing but dining room was pleasantly peaceful, which was perfect for our group's uninhibited conversation. Our waiter was so quick-witted and SHARP, reads people well and interacts accordingly! My conversations with him were every bit as enjoyable as those with my friends. Sorry I didn't catch his name to give him full credit (I got there late). He was very familiar with the menu and wisely boasted of the shrimp & spinach-stuffed salmon special drizzled with a curry sauce, served on a bed of spinach & chard saute. Was THAT beautiful, and tasty (from the sample my friend shared). Three of us had the seafood symphony which was a perfect sampling of delicately prepared scallops, fish, and shrimp served with risotto. Love a chef who doesn't overcook seafood. Two friends had crab cakes and a separate salad. Enjoyed their crab cakes a lot but said the spicy coleslaw that came with it was indeed spicy, a little TOO much so. (Not for the faint of heart, apparently.) Bottle of Hahn Pinot Noir during happy hour was $25, $40 AFTER happy hour. Thank you, waiter, for suggesting our table order a 2nd bottle before 6:00 if the wine was to our liking, which it was! Tempted by dessert but, everybody was watching their swimsuit figures :D So, passed. Really enjoyed our evening and would go again. Bar was packed, where some people by themselves or in pairs were eating as well. Would go back.
We were looking for a quiet place for interesting seafood. We wanted to be downtown in a quaint area. My husband had the pan-fried trout and loved it! I had the swordfish special with two blackened shrimp. It was fabulous. We had good wine and a cozy table by the window. Our server and the hostess were very friendly. A lovely evening.
Great meal and service. If you like seafood, give Bosley's a try!
Vibrant energetic restaurant with friendly staff, great food and eclectic art work. We really love seafood and the preparations were unique and beautifully done. We will definitly go back when we are in town again.
First time visitor. The food was simply outstanding!! Cannot wait to return again and again!!
Bosley's food was nice but not exceptional. Absolutely no choice other than sides for vegetarians (two of our party of four and very easy to please diners). Our waiter was gruff and not at all accommodating. His attitude felt like "take it or leave it". This appears to be a popular neighborhood place - the kind of place that you go to because it is welcoming and has a nice atmosphere, even if the food isn't "foodie" worthy. But since we were treated like sacks of rice, we'd think twice before returning.
My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary last weekend and we could not have had a better, more pleasing evening. The food and service was outstanding and they added a couple of nice touches for our special day - sparkling wine to start and Key Lime pie to finish. We went mostly with seafood plates and they were outstanding. We will be back and encourage every one else to enjoy this wonderful gem of a place.
Bosley came highly recommended by a friend of mine who used to live in Milwaukee. She was absolutely right...My husband and I loved the relaxed Key West atmosphere and the food was amazing...including the key lime pie which is to die for...We will definitely come back and try other dishes. A true neighborhood gem !
Steak and seafood were both wonderful. The dining area can be a little loud but not obnoxious. We would most certainly go again. Between the cocktails and the food we have no complaints!
Waiter was great. Ambiance great. Portions were small. My husband enjoyed his but had a bowl of cereal when he came home.
We always have a great meal at Bosleys. Never disappoint Ed.
A great dining experience with a group of high school friends 87"... Crab cakes were to die for... our server Scott was awesome! I'll definitely be back for round two...
This was our first time at Bosley's. The food and the service was terrific. Scallops on a rich bed of risotto were tender and delicious. Grilled Romaine salad with blue cheese was also unique and very tasty. The wine offerings were plentiful. The atmosphere was lively and energetic. Great place to enjoy seafood that is beautifully prepared!
Love Bosley, excellent food
Great, personal and friendly service
Nice place for a date
My wife and I have always been big fans of Bosley, but this experience didn't live up to prior ones. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, but then it took about 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge that we were there. I know this may seem petty, but we didn't receive the Amuse Bouche, but when every table around you is getting one, you feel a little left out. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which I've had before in the past, but this time they weren't as good. The grits were very firm and didn't have the flavor they've had in the past. The scallops my wife had, were once again good, but nothing special. All in all, food was good, but compared to the past experiences where we would leave raving about the food, this visit was just ok.
