AYCE border brunch was so delicious. Service was awesome too.
Great service. Great tacos. Loved how they let you mix and match the tacos
The food was good, but my stomach was very upset later in the afternoon. I also didn't realize we had to pay for chips and salsa. I thought that was a little annoying.
Everything was great. Our server the best!!! Love Border Grille flavorful food!
Vegan and gluten-free Sunday brunch, unlimited delicious tapas-size plates, friendly service! More than we’d hoped for!! Followed by a short walk to the Broad Museum.
Service was excellent. Food was not good...enchilada tortillas were hard and flavor was bland. We were very disappointed as food was good when I went there 5 years ago.
I haven’t been in a while since it isn’t in a neighborhood I’m usually in, but friend in town staying nearby so a perfect opportunity to get over there again. Cool place, great food and great drinks.
I’d been to BG early on in their original Santa Monica location... was looking forward to a return these many years later... tried for lunch last week: slow service but good meal: ceviche duo. Made open table reservation for dinner with my husband a few nights later ... a private event in the back room kept us up near bar... a sports/tv environment we don’t prefer. The private event was outrageously loud and raucous... we couldn’t even talk ... perhaps there could have been some notation about that going on before my booking? The drinks were good ... the chicken enchiladas came out of the kitchen barely room temp to us... but we were eager to eat and leave the noise... so didn’t send back ... manager did take half off the bill... and he kindly brought me some black beans ... service is accommodating... food good when kitchen more attentive... noise level ridiculous for any not part of the party
This was a great spot that we stumbled on just looking for a quick bite and cocktail before a concert. Not being from the area, we searched on Open Table for spots near the venue. Indoor and outdoor seating options were available and we chose to sit outside which had a great vibe. Perfect weather and not much background noise. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We were a group of 7 and would go back again if we were in the area.
Food was ok at best. Actually you might be better off eating off of a food truck. Service absolutely sucked.
The tortilla soup was Luke warm & spicy, which it’s not supposed to be. The rice & beans were tepid. And it was virtually impossible to find the fish in my fish tacos. What a waste of $.
I would Like to work in border grill and I will recommend this restaurant to my family.
Great place for brunch. Lots of choices on food and drinks. The servers are fast, helpful and nice.
Just fabulous. As good as Las Vegas. The best brunch you’ll find and such a value. Loved it again!
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food was not quite as good as it has been in past years. But still very good. I love the ambiance. The service was good.
Pablo was an amazing server, great food, drinks, and energy!
Perfect birthday meal
Good, tasty food and always good service. Not too pricey either.
Employees are attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. Great experience!
Food quality compared to the Last Vegas location was very poor, with only one of the brunch items we tasted worth ordering seconds.
Food was fantastic but service on a slow Saturday evening was poor.
Love, love, love the Border Grill!
Only problem was the directions to the parking garage didn’t match our GPS route and that was frustrating.
Chips and salsa were good, all the other food was mediocre at best. Service was also just so-so. Would not return.
Sat at the bar and the bartenders were awesome. Very personable and attentive without being overly aggressive. Good conversations. Went on a Sunday and it may have been after Sunday brunch but the women’s bathroom was pretty unkempt and dirty. Overall though, great experience.
Good but my entree was not hot upon arrival
Never saw server in time to ask it to be warmed up or replaced
Next time I’ll go find a mgr
Border Grill is okay for lunch but amazing for happy hour. They have one of the best happy hours in Downtown.
I went for my birthday on a Sunday night and the restaurant was empty. The ceviche was fine, but not as fresh as when I had it earlier in the week. Also, I ordered the churros for dessert and they were uncooked on the inside (even though it took them 25 minutes to get them). My husband didn't want to tell the waiter so we paid for them anyway. I had put that this was a birthday dinner on my reservation and whenever I have been there previously for birthdays, they put a sparkler on the dessert. No sparkler. Overall, I would go back for lunch but never again for my birthday.
We were taken to the patio with only one menu, we asked host for two more and never brought them. Server wasn’t welcoming and took a while to take our orders. Food took over 20 mins to arrive. The menu was very small, so there were very few options of food. I got a chicken quesadilla on a plate by itself, I was expecting may be rice and beans like every restaurant does...? I didn’t like the service or atmosphere. Definitely not returning :)
First off, they sat us by a party of 8 ladies drinking. You can imagine what that was like and how loud it was. Second, I ordered a margarita and chips and salsa. The drink came in 15 min and was watery and the side of chips and salsa came when the meal did... 25 min later. The second drink took another 15 min to come. I cant imagine why it takes them so long to make a drink when they werent even busy. The tacos were delicious but the experience was disappointing and wished it was better.
Service was very slow. Wait 40 minutes between bunch second serving. Then received things we didn’t ordered or already had. Didn’t like the changed bunch new menu items. Never received birthday wish for my daughter or candle either. Tighten it up BG!!
Our Server was amazing! Food was tasty!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Border Grill. We visited for lunch on a Saturday. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the artwork was evocative. I had the carnitas tacos, which were perfectly done with crispy pork and a very balanced citrus-y slaw. My husband had the chicken quesadillas (a go-to at any restaurant for him) and he gave it 5 stars. We normally don't have dessert with lunch, but just had to finish with the churro tots, and they did not disappoint! The service was personable and warm, by waiter, server, and bus person.
Missed having Prix Fix option on menu
Best happy hour on the patio in downtown LA, in my opinion!!! Great food, great drinks, and great patio!
NeNe was great!!
Everything was great - food, service, soundtrack, décor etc. The only thing I would change if I could is to lower the music volume.
Always reliably fun, with interesting menu choices, great drinks and friendly staff. The plantain empanadas were wonderful. Corn tamales and pork eggs Benedict less tasty than they sounded on the menu.
Still one of my favorite Pre game or pre theater hangouts.
Great waitress & food was good. Very loud music was only drawback.
We really enjoyed this recommendation from the Jonathan’s Club. Loved the chips and dips. Our entrees were all hot and delicious! Highly recommend this location in DTLA.
Hip joint by early celebration chief Feniger and Milliken. Bold flavor profiles and nice presentation.
