Bootlegger Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Off the strip and a great place. This was our 3rd and 4th times visiting.Went valentines night and when leaving we were given a coupon for 50 percent off our food bill next visit, went right back next evening.Food was outstanding and service excellent.pasta cooked perfect, the minestrone soup the best ive ever had and the spumoni was homemade.wowowowowo is all i can say
The atmosphere once you walk in, was one of nostalgia! Then once you are seated the service is phenomenal! The wait staff at night are great (James is The Man)! Then the highlight of the night... the food! Best lasagna n fettuccine Alfredo! So creamy n buttery, n you can't forgery the garlic knots! (Order a side of Alfredo sauce...it's a must). Overall, wonderful experience!
My husband and I have been to The Bootlegger several times over the years and, as usual, the food did not disappoint at all. It was our server this time that was very frustrating. He was certainly nice enough and he started out on the right foot. He was attentive and willing to answer questions about their menu we were first arrived but as soon as the restaurant started to fill up the slightest bit, we lost most of his assistance. Couples that came in AFTER us, ordering basically the same things, were getting their food long before we did.
When he DID wander by, he kept suggesting the wine list and alcoholic drinks but since I suffer from a liver disease I NEVER drink alcohol. Tho I did not explain my condition to him, I felt like one polite and clear 'no thank you' should be enough. It was not. He either forgot or offered it repeatedly to placate us.
This will not stop us from returning but the night we were there, the evening before Valentine's Day, was important to us and the parts of our dinner that were lacking was very unsatisfying.
Wait staff was friendly and helpful. It was nice to have some healthy options available as well as many wonderful traditional Italian offerings.
I recommend the Calamari - didn't eat it this time but I have many times in the past, delicious and fresh too!
Check out Bootlegger's Copa Club - we saw Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns - they were excellent!! And with dinner, you get preferred seating. Quite the following, make sure to make a reservation thru Bootlegger for the Copa or make a note in your OpenTable Reservation to avoid any confusion.
My daughter and I were in Las Vegas for a mother/daughter weekend. We saw a special interest story on the local news channel that featured the owner who is 100 years old! We just had to try this historic Italian restaurant. The bolognese sauce was out of this world. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the cesaer salad was delicious. This is definitely a must do place when you are visiting Vegas. It is a little drive south of Mandalay Bay and the Tropicana, but the trip is well worth it!
I have enjoyed the Bootlegger many times in the past; however, this last visit was disappointing. In an Italian restaurant, it is customary to offer olive oil and balsamic vinegar for bread dipping. We had to ask for it specifically. I ordered Chicken Alfredo. When the dish was presented, the noodles looked to have been sitting out for some period of time as they were dried on the surface and therefore rubbery. Chicken was dry. The creme brulee we ordered for dessert had an odd taste -- can't even identify what it was. We had to repeatedly request refills for the water glasses. Maybe it was just an "off" night, but I'll think twice before choosing this restaurant again.
What a great find this place was! Was in town for the Celine concert (Never saw, as she became sick and had 2 canceled shows), and Bootlegger was highly recommended. They have live music nightly, and a harpist was playing thus night. So glad we tried it - our waiter, Triain "Try-on", was a pro! We wish could have stayed for coffee & dessert. We will definitely return again!
Great Italian food selection with an old school ambiance. The food is excellent and is served in a timely fashion. The wait staff is pleasant and makes the experience enjoyable. The cost is reasonable as well. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable. The bar area has several big screen TVs so viewing your sports team(s) prior to dining is easy to do as well.
We have been to Bootlegger for breakfast, lunch and for dinner. Each and every time the food has been delicious and the service was excellent. We visit Las Vegas at least once a year (twice this year) and we make it a point to include The Bootlegger on our itinerary. The food is always fresh and authentic Italian. The food has always been of excellent quality. We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends who travel to Las Vegas.
Great Food, Great Service. Would like to see more detail on the expresso ( sugar cube, lemon skin, napkin ) etc. Not just plop a cup of expresso spilled on the saucer. Other wise a Very Nice experience. I believe Justin was our waiter? Very Good to deal with , Great Job. Overall Great Dinner. Would only like to see more detail on the coffees.
