Bootlegger Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We ordered the $50.00 food package, steak and shrimp. All the food was very good until my medium rare steak came out well done, very dry, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 90 minutes. We sent it back, and the replacement steak was very good. Mediocre apology from the waiter.
The food all came out timed well between courses until we waited for our main meal after the salad. Almost a 40 minute wait between these courses, which was simply unacceptable.
It was a Friday night, and they were busy, but a really good restaurant will not make customers wait that long. I would go back and hope for a better server.
My honey and I are fans of Anthony Bordain and that's what led us to visit The Bootlegger during our vacation in Vegas. We had a 7 p.m. reservation for dinner and we were seated as soon as we arrived at 6:50. Our appetizers were brought out about 10 minutes after ordering and they were large portions and delicious. Our entrees were brought out perfectly timed at about 20 minutes after the apps. Again, food was very tasty. We finished up with the Tiramisu and it was definitely homemade...delicious! The live music was perfect for the environment and our two requests were sung beautifully by the gentleman at the piano. The Bootlegger definitely delivered a memorable evening during our stay in Vegas. We will return during future visits to Vegas!
After attending the Monday "Open Mike Night" last April, we were looking forward to taking our out of town guests to the Bootlegger. We had a great experience the first time we were there. Unfortunately, this particular night, the entertainment was not very good. By the time they got some semi-talented people on stage (approx. 11:00pm), my guests and I were ready to fall asleep.
Food was good and service was fine although I was disappointed to have been placed in the back corner where we could not see the stage, but alas, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
I'm hoping this bad experience was a fluke and will try the Bootlegger again. Maybe the talented people were home for the holidays?
We happened upon the Bootlegger through our Open Table app. Once we stepped inside, we were impressed with the "Frank Sinatra Vibe." The food was reminiscent of old-world Italy . . . reminded us of one of our favorite restaurants back home. I had the lasagna and meatballs, my husband had the eggplant Parmesan. We both had a Caesar salad. Food was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the garlic bites with marinara dipping sauce.
Loved the food. My wife and I both enjoyed our food, the piano player and our server was super knowledgeable and very friendly. The older blonde at the front was unbelievably rude though. We had a reservation, she made us feel unwelcome. She seated us with an attitude and made the first part of the evening very uncomfortable. We will come back, be just be warned, the blonde in front is a *expletive*.
The lasagna and the tiramisu were outstanding! I recommend the booth tables which give perfect view of the live performance. The meal starts with complimentary bread with a dip which is unbelievably good, fresh and still hot from the oven. Meals are in decent size so make sure to save some room for the desert.
My husband and I went there on Thanksgiving day for a nice dinner. It was our second time going there and we were surprised that they had live music with a piano player and a singer, a woman with a very nice voice. My husband thought that they had live music only on Mondays. The place wasn't too crowded or busy, so we had great service and the food dishes were huge!!! My husband had to try the spaghetti and meatballs that Anthony Bourdain had in his program!!!! He said that was good. I had the tilapia and it was very good too!!! And of course I had to have the dessert which was delicious!!! We plan to go back there for another occasion for sure!!! Great service and the waiters were very very nice. And the price was good too. The atmosphere was cozy and the music nice too, but we didn't stay too long because we had a early dinner. Next time we are going to have a little later dinner to enjoy the live music. Ahhhh, and we had left overs for dinner next day!!!
We had a family reunion (8 of us!) in Vegas and thanks to Anthony Bourdian's Vegas episode, decided to celebrate Bev + Gary's 37th wedding anniversary here. Our experience was STELLAR! Our waiter, Slater, was so attentive and professional. We had practically everything on the menu and LOVED it all. The ambiance here is excellent - the food is beyond awesome(and some of us are new Yorkers who really really know our Italian food!) Thank you, Bootlegger, for an amazing night!
Had dinner with old friends not seen in over 50 years and it is a fun reunion. We were seated in the lounge area and wait staff really went above and beyond, not rushing us and let us linger over a wonderful meal. It was a nice break for friends from the East Coast who were attending a convention on the Strip. They enjoyed this spot of Vegas history and relief from the sometimes frantic pace on the Strip. The food as everyone who loves the Bootlegger knows was superb.
Always a fun place to take tourists.
I went in thinking it was going to be a mediocre Italian style restaurant ,
I was mistaken ,the atmosphere was very quite and perfect for a couple out for a Great Italian meal
The ossobuco was out of this world my wife's porkchop marsala was perfect ,the salads were crisp and very good, the waiter was very friendly and helpful
We were their on a night were they had a beautiful women singing ,nice and quite as to not bother your meal
I will definitely return to this Great Italian restaurant
I have lived in Las Vegas for 35 years and enjoy dining out. I particularly enjoy a restaurant that respects the old Las Vegas tradition of good food, great service, in a casual but unique atmosphere. The Bootlegger Bistro honors that tradition. I have experienced this restaurant since the opening on Eastern Avenue and have followed it to the current location on Las Vegas Boulevard. The new Bootlegger continues to welcome everyone as "family." The Italian food is prepared in the traditional style with lots of flavor and ample serving size. I had the antipasto appetizer and clams linguini. My guests tried shrimp scampi linguini and chicken Angelo. All the meals were great. Piano music with dinner was an added bonus. It was a good Old Las Vegas experience for me and my out of town guests.
You can taste the love.
I ordered the linguine and clams in red sauce which is the tastiest I've had in a decade. My husband had the veal parmigiana. He only let me have a small bite.
The serving size was enough for two meals. We took it home and had the meal all over again!
We'll be back.
I'll be dreaming about the bolognese for a long time! My friends all loved their dishes too. The restaurant is off the Strip but well worth the cab fare to just south of the airport. The decor was nice but a little dated. Service was attentive and helpful. What put the experience over the top was having the pleasure of hearing Laura Shaffer sing on a Sunday night. Adding this to my must-do list the next time I return to Vegas.
This place is off he strip and seems like it might be seedy because it is dark on the inside but it has the best Italian food I have had in a long time. The lounge singer was a great surprise as well. I would not recommend the Negroni drink but all the other cocktails we ordered were fantastic. This place was a great change from the very expensive strip restaurants.
As a local, I dine here often and I understand that seating is limited especially in the booths of the main dining area. We booked this reservation about a week in advance for our anniversary requesting a booth for the occasion. We arrived ten minutes prior to our reservation time and were told our booth was not yet ready, but should be within 10-15 minutes which would have put us within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Twenty five minutes later we were offered a table in the dining area or a booth at the bar as our requested searing was not yet available, but we decided to wait. Approximately 40 minutes after our reservation time, we were seated where we originally requested. Our server although very polite was extremely busy and our courses seemed to be rushed to the table -- garlic bread bites, antipasto, and dinner salads came out in relatively quick order along with our entrees. My order appeared to be OK, but my wife received chicken Parmesan when she had ordered veal. It was resolved, but after having to flag down our server and wait for the correct order to come to our table. We were never offered the usual types of service we have become accustomed to at this establishment -- fresh cracked pepper with our salads, additional drinks and we had to inquire about both desserts and cappuccinos. The quality of the food was pretty solid, but between the wait, server workload, and price, we expected the management to make things "right" as they have in the past.
I had never been to The Bootlegger and tried it based on reviews and reputation. The first thing you notice is the restaurant looks old and the chairs were very uncomfortable. I had a Caesar salad which I shared with my daughter. It was delicious! Our entrees consisted of chicken piccata, veal piccata and chicken parm. Here is what aggravated me, it took over an hour to get served our entree from the time we finished our salad. The waiter had a million excuses why it was taking so long. By the time the food came we were so discussed we lost our appetites. The waiter felt bad and gave us one piece of free cheesecake. I've had better food and service at Olive Garden!
It had been awhile since I've frequented the Bootlegger. But it was all I remembered having great food, excellent service from Shawn and wonderful atmosphere. Since moving to the west side of town it seemed further than it really was. I will be there more often now.
