Fine dining has brought Boone Tavern much of its international acclaim. Whether you prefer traditional or creative southern cuisine, you will find palate pleasing fare in Boone Tavern’s Dining Room. The Duncan Hines Excellence in Hospitality Award was presented to Boone Tavern in 2003. The prestigious award is named for restaurant critic Duncan Hines. The Kentucky Tourism Council states, “Boone Tavern has been a hallmark in the hospitality business for nearly a century. After all these years, it continues to be a favorite destination.”
Lunch offerings let you choose from a variety of salads, unique sandwiches and hot entrées. Evening meals offer an array of delightful appetizers, salads, classic entrées and desserts. Historical favorites like “Chicken Flakes in a Bird’s Nest” and “spoonbread” are fixtures in the restaurant. Sunday Brunch is another tradition. Dining room attire is tastefully casual.

    We loved our food. The beet salad was a delight to the eye and tongue. The serving of trout both delicious and huge. Our server Carma was just lovely friendly helpful and do very attentive. Can’t wait to see the new dining area

    Boone Tavern is a delightful experience and every person we came in contact with was very cordial and happy to assist if we needed any help. Our meal was breakfast/brunch and was very good. It was a ladies day outing and we all enjoyed the meal and the entire experience.

    Understaffed. Customers waited over 20 minutes before getting drink orders. Our food was luke warm and not worth the price. We will not be back.

    Phenomenal food is always with the "birds nest" chicken dinner continues to shine as their signature dish. Appetizer of ham and pimento cheese Fritters was spectacular. Since we're down south you should really call those "hush puppies". The star of the show for us was the beet salad, which was absolutely spectacular and would come back just for that dish. The waitress told us that the signature bird's nest chicken dinner was going off the menu, which is Ludacris. Finally, they're doing construction on the main restaurant so once that gets done, that'll be a little nicer seating

    Everyone from hostess to server was “new” and it showed! Waited several minutes before asking manager if there was a server assigned to my table. Server who came was very nice but inexperienced. Temporary dining room lacked ambiance, perhaps some fresh flowers on tables or votive candles and dim the lights to add atmosphere.

    We had a delightful dinner at Boone Tavern. While on a road trip west, we got Berea's brochure at the Welcome Center and were intrigued. Boone Tavern was the perfect place to experience this small college town. Dinner was Beet Salad - delicious - and Shaved Chicken in a Bird Nest - unique and evocative of my Grandma's cooking. Spoon bread was also offered, straight out of the cast iron skillet. A classic Southern and Mid Western dish, we lapped it up! You must have it. The restaurant is in the middle of a remodel, so the dining room was in a hotel meeting room. When completed, the hotel says the restaurant will be more modern with a gastro pub vibe. As long as they use their local farm produce and have the same personable waitstaff, this Tavern will continue to be outstanding.

    A wonderful experience! Berea is so beautiful. The food and service was excellent. Genevieve in the kitchen makes a wonderful Beet Tarrine and our server Liz was delightful. We will surely be back! Thank you

    Dinner was wonderful starting with pre dinner drinks, ending with dessert. Our service was exceptional. Our server was Liz and she was outstanding. I had the fried chicken my partner had the smash burger. Both were prepared and presented beautifully. Known for the spoon bread, I can say it was not my favorite but we tried it. We did overdress for the occasion, the dining was much more casual than I expected. Overall … I look forward to returning.

    our dinner was exceptionally delicious. Spoonbread was a special treat which we both enjoyed. Service excellent, we will recommend our friends to stop by.
