Bookbinder's Seafood and Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We were there celebrating our 25th Anniversary. The waitress was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our entrees were delicios. The manager made a point to go to every table and talk about their experience. The prices were high but we knew that from the start.
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our dinner at Bookbinders. All the staff knew it was our anniversary and acknowledged it. They also had a nice surprise that I will not spoil for others. The food was cooked perfectly. The restaurant is beautiful. It has become my favorite spot in Richmond!
The menu is very simple and the food is simply delicious.
We had ahi tuna appetizer, a tobacco row salad and the petit filet mignons, one standard and one with the kona coffee rub. The wine list was good and the everything was just about perfect.
We'll be back.
We celebrate our Anniversary at Bookbinders yearly. It is our "very special go to place" for a romantic and excellent dinner. We have a difficult time deviating from the excellent steak and crab cake entree. The steak is always cooked to perfection and the crabcake is lump crabmeat with little filler. Perfect on all accounts. A special touch is our name was printed on the top of the menu wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Thank you Bookbinders.
Most everything is tasty and prepared well, but very few thing are inspired or unique. Given the many new and creative restaurants in Richmond, Bookbinder's competes poorly. Oysters in November were from Massachusetts and were fresh, but absolutely bland. The cold half lobster appetizer was perfect, but it is simply cooked lobster. The blackened Mahi Mahi with crab-slaw was excellent. The crab-slaw topping was a creative compliment to the spicy fish. This is a wonderful location with several different rooms, including tables and booths that make for a more quiet and pleasant atmosphere than most restaurants. There are some private rooms too, which would be a great spot for business events. There is also ample free parking across the street. So, given the constraints of a large, well-established restaurant, you really can't go wrong with Bookbinder's. And, the service is professional.
A group of us were visiting Richmond due to running the half marathon/marathon. We booked a reservation through open table. We were pleasantly surprised that our group of 12 were seated in a private room. The food, service, and setting was excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely be back!
Our first time in Richmond. We picked this restaurant for the seafood reviews. Food was delicious (ordered the crabcake and sea scallops for dinner and turtle soup for appetizer). The wine suggestion was excellent. Our server was knowledgable, and helpful with choices. The outside entry was pleasantly decorated with potted plants, and the inside environment was cozy. We will definitely return when back in Richmond.
Our go to place before a show in Richmond. We have yet to find another restaurant in RIC that offers the same quality of food, service and atmosphere as Bookbinders. One may prefer different types of cuisine; however, for steak and seafood this is the place. They have an excellent wine selection and they mix some of the best cocktails in RIC.
