Celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Food was amazing, stellar service by our server.

The experience my wife and I had for her birthday was amazing. The food was delicious, the drinks were very fine. Everything was awesome, and I most definitely recommend to whoever is in the Downtown Richmond area to dine there for an evening!

Great atmosphere, food and service!

The food was subpar for myself. I ordered the crabcake and it was very fishy. They may have used lump, but it wasn’t fresh. The martini has a weird after taste, which I had forgotten from previous visits. Love this restaurant, but step up your freshness game on the main courses and figure out why there is a mothball after taste to your martinis.

Wonderful experience. Excellent service. All staff did a great job with COVID precautions and properly wore mask the entire time we were there. Wait staff was very known about menu items and specials. Wonderful place to celebrate our first anniversary!

This restaurant is at the top of my list when I come back. The food was delicious and service was great! The portions are very generous as well.

My husband ordered lobster stuffed with crab and apparently they removed the lobster and served just the crab inside the lobster shell with no lobster inside.

Book binders assures a wonderful romantic setting for a special date our waitress was hospitable friendly and attentive. We started with some cocktails I had a lemon drop Martini which was delicious.
For dinner we had stuffed salmon with crab meat and the ribeye steak both were very good.the only problem we had was the salmon was not cooked all the way and had to be returned.
Creme brulee for dessert was out of this world awesome.

Truly a great meal, great service

Went for New Year's and it was great. Pre-fix menu had lots of options and variety and was reasonably priced for what you got, but it was too much food. We had 2 items boxed up without even being served, but server was totally accommodating to that. Amy, our server, was outstanding!

Still our fave place for a special occasion. Never fails to disappoint. Too expensive for us to go on a regular basis, though.

New Years Eve- GREAT menu!

My friend and I were visiting from out of state and I chose Bookbinder's Seafood and Steakhouse based on the online reviews to celebrate his birthday. The food was delicious, but our server, Tim, was phenomenal. Tim provided remarkable service! When we arrived we had "Happy Birthday" menus, Tim was very attentive, patient with our indecisiveness on what to order, and made us feel like we were his only customers.
When we travel back to the area, we will definitely return and request Tim.

We visited this establishment to celebrate a birthday at 8:30pm on a Tuesday. We made reservations and were of the last few seated. The staff was friendly and courteous. Our waiters name was Zach and he was helpful with providing food and drink options. The food was absolutely delicious with the paired libations. We will definitely be visiting again.

Graduation

Our birthday dinner was a success! Amy was attentive and charming. We were properly spaced away from other guests and staff wore their masks correctly. I was impressed to see tablecloths were changed as guests exited after enjoying a delicious meal. Amy noticed us taking a selfie and offered to take our picture at our table as well as by the Christmas tree. Our meal was served promptly and was very delicious. I was offered complimentary cake to help celebrate my birthday. My husband and I were both very pleased! We will certainly dine at Bookbinder’s again!

Food, service and atmosphere was perfect for a romantic dinner

We had a lovely meal at Bookbinders tonight. We enjoyed the escargots, the pork chop was amazing, as was the lobster mac and cheese. The steaks were outstanding, as well. Everything was cooked as requested. Service was impeccable, our needs were addressed promptly without being overbearing. Safety protocols were evident. It was our first visit and we’ll definitely go back. Excellent experience! Thank you!

Had a great service and dining experience

We enjoyed snapper soup and Rockfish stuffed with crab. Service and atmosphere and COVID precautions were are excellent!

This was our first attempt at dinner out on Christmas and it proved to be wonderful. Kevin our waiter was very attentive but not overly attentive. He made recommendations and made sure everything was perfect. We have decided on a new Christmas tradition at Bookbinders. I am anxious to try their outside seating this summer. The atmosphere in this restaurant is old world and the outside dining area looks wonderful. I feel like I have rediscovered a Richmond treasure.

Exceptional food service and location we arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled reservation and was greeted and told we could wait by the bar until called. We waited approximately 10 minutes and was taken to our table

As listed in the menu, each entree was supposed to come with 2 sides (mashed potatoes and spinach). When our food arrived, my girlfriend and I received one portion of each that we were supposed to share instead of the expected 2 portions of each based on the language in the menu. The server was gracious about it as she explained that it was an error on the menu and the two of us were only supposed to receive a single serving of each to share. As expensive as the prices were, it’s rather upsetting to be shorted on sides. Regardless of where the error exists, the whole scenario was something I would expect from a low value chain restaurant and definitely not something that aligns with the professional reputation I expected from Bookbinder’s. I probably would not return based on this experience.

Decent food but not worth the price. Also we were enjoying our dinner and got kicked out of our seats because we were there for almost 2 hours. We probably would have only stayed another 20 minutes or so but it was very rude to be kicked out when we spent over 200$ on a meal for 2.

Bookbinders is always a winner for fine food and beautiful wine. We enjoy a 2:30 pm incredible Christmas Lunch. All four in our small group began with a cocktail. I got lost the delicious butternut squash soup (no clue as to what the others enjoyed). We graduated to a bottle of 2018 Caymus and soared into our main course, mine being perfectly cooked salmon. The others enjoyed a New York and prime filets. Key Lime Pie was our group choice for dessert. Service was of course outstanding. Applause Bookbinders for making our Christmas Day absolutely perfect.

If I could give 10 STARS I would. My husband and I found ourselves alone on Christmas Day, without kids or grandchildren because of traveling restrictions due to the novel corona virus so we decided to have a special dinner for ourselves! This was our first visit to Bookbinders and it did not disappoint. My husband is known for his charcoal grilling skills and quite frankly do not go out much since he is always disappointed with his meal. Not this time! Understandably so for Christmas it was a pre fixed menu but the choices were just right in my opinion, we both ordered the same thing...crab cake appetizers and the 16oz steak done medium rare...perfection...delicious and yummy desserts!
We were delighted. Staff was spot on, friendly, restaurant was immaculately kept and inviting. My husband was so pleased that he immediately christened Bookbinders a “Do Again” that’s what our family names something we really really like!

Always a dining pleasure. Excellent food and service. I just wish Bookbinder's was in West End Henrico instead of downtown.
