Food was delicious and the servers were well trained with exceptional courtesy. The owner also greeted each guest at their table.
We made an online reservation and showed up 15 minutes early. We were promptly greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was outstanding! He was very friendly and ready to answer all of our questions. He even let us sample something we asked about. Food was great. Have been before and will return.
Beautiful place for the price food was good not great. Steaks flavorful but not worthy of $50 tab server was distracted and never quite got it.
Great overall! As usual.
Great food and service!
Limited seafood entree menu. Food was good. Service was solid.
From when we were greeted until we left it was awesome! The Coffee rubbed steak and blue cheese olive martini were legit.
Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Slightly pricey but it's perfect for a special occasion!
Excellent service and remarkable food!
Average food extremely overpriced.
Our meal was fantastic and service impeccable as always!
Food was awesome and our sever was amazing. It was a great experience and I shall return every time I am in town.
We had a party of 8 on Saturday the 8th. The service was terrible which was a shame because the food was good. It was probably due to our party size and the gratuity being already included in the price. The waiter could care less about pleasing us. Very unfriendly, dismissive and downright rude. It does go to show that an otherwise nice restaurant can be ruined by bad service. It is a reflection of management to let this happen . I would never go back and I would not recommend this establishment . Try Buckhead's instead. Very good food and service.
Service was excellent! Food was excellent and presentation was lovely. I'm accustomed to eating fish at fine restaurants. . Will definitely eat here again when in Richmond.
The food was delicious and our server was very nice. Would definitely go back!
Food was excellent as was the service. Had petite filet with creamed spinach and loaded baked potato. Wine list in the process of being updated so they may not have the selection you choose. Note baked potato is very large and can easily be shared by 3-4 people.
First time here, late valentines dinner. Really enjoyed experience, price point a little high but overall great.. we will be back!
There is an intimate, cozy feel to Bookbinders! The dinners were excellent, service fantastic and experience wonderful! We went for our anniversary. The restaurant had personalized the menu with a header of Happy 56th Anniversary! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the history of Old Bookbinders in Philadelphia (which we had visited previously) and the restaurant's move to Richmond.
His recommendations for menu items were through and spot on!
Perfect food in the perfect atmosphere. You get what you pay for.
Outstanding food and service. Patrice knew the menu and when she described or recommended a dish it tasted just as described. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his daughter who went table to table and spoke to all their guests. A rarity these days! We will be back!
In Richmond for hockey this weekend and decided to splurge on a fancy dinner and Bookbinders did not disappoint. The Cajun Tuna appetizer is something you don’t want to pass up and the Filet Mignon was a perfect medium rare! Will definitely be back when back in town next year!
We were celebrating our sons 16th birthday and so we wanted it special. The food and service were outstanding!! Our server Rebecca was superb.
Wait staff great. Attentive without being overbearing. Cowboy cut ribeye quite possibly the vest I’ve ever had. I assume it just had salt and pepper but delicious. Lobster risotto delicious too. Would recommend.
Great location with a lot of history and charm. Host could use some polishing, we stood at the podium for a little while before he acknowledged us. They put us in a round booth even though the reservation was made as a business meal, someone missed that detail. Oysters were tiny, the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella sticks were awesome. Steak was amazing, portabello mushroom had a great taste but a little oily, asparagus was bland, cake was dry.
Rebecca, our server, was delightful. As far as the food goes...the bread was the best!
The rockfish was way too salty with too many capers. The heavy sauce overpowered the favor of the fish....I was unable to finish it... my husband did not care for it either. We had dinner out at another restaurant on Monday night. I ordered rockfish which was fabulous, amazingly prepared....could really taste the fish...well seasoned.
Lobster was ok, but not great and WAY TOO PRICEY...huge disappointment. We knew it was expensive; but my husband really wanted lobster; so we ordered it, it didn’t live up to the price...and it was tough.
The salad had too much dressing, should have been on the side. It tasted as if it had been made way ahead...greens limp..not fresh. However, the homemade dressing was very good.
I would like to see you do well, but your food did not live up to what we expected. I am sorry, but we cannot recommend Bookbinder's
We did appreciate the friendly chat with the owner who visited our table.
My husband and I attended Bookbinder's for our 7th Anniversary. From the initial greeting by staff, to the serving of the dessert, the experience was truly wonderful. I have to give an additional acknowledgement of Marcie, our waitress. What an incredibly friendly and professional young lady. She made the entire dining experience a memorable one. Thank you Marcie:)
So amazing one of the best date spots ever a your date will fall even more in love with you after that experience.Really Great Night
Food was amazing as was the service. We arrived early for our reservation and were promptly seated. The owner came to our table to chat with us and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
This restaurant is amazing the food, service the setting I will definitely be back! And please ask for Tim to be your server!
Food/service/ambiance was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a superb meal.
Everything was great. The table was ready as soon as we walked in. The staff was very nice. and Food was amazing
Every time we go to Bookbinders the food and service is excellent.
My husband chose Bookbinders for Valentines Day for a romantic dining experience. Instead, we were seated facing the lobster tank in the bar, diminishing the overall ambiance. Service was underwhelming and food average.
This place is unbelievable beautiful food is outstanding!!!!!
As always food was awesome, took care of my wife’s allergy’s and seating was prompt. For the first time ever, we felt rushed.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Richmond. The service not as good as normal but still exceptional
Great Service.Food was terrific! Bit expensive but overall nice place to enjoy with significant other!
