Boogaloo - St. Louis Ratings and Reviews
The food was great. It arrived at our table quickly, made to order, and was delivered with a smile and humor. Our cocktails were much stronger than anticipated, which is not a complaint. I recommend the cucumber martini, if you like cucumber. It was strong, refreshing, and surprisingly delicious.
Bar's seats are swings which is funky & cool. Sitting in the window of the dining area can be really loud b/c of all the surrounding hard surfaces. Food was pretty good and in a large quantity. A tad pricy but nothing outrageous. Street parking is a circus. Park across the street in the parking lot. Would recommend.
Great food. Highly recommend the Tapas menu and ordering lots of different items to enjoy. Will definitely have the BBQ shrimp again as it was simply AMAZING. We also enjoyed the Cuban cigars, the fried plantains, the ribs, and topped it all of with some bread pudding for dessert.
The host and wait staff were very personable and professional. The cross service meant we didn't wait for our food when it was done but our waitress was busy with another table.
I organized a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend here on a Saturday night and was very pleased with the management of Boogaloo. Kelly made sure that we had a table hidden from the view from the window, so that my boyfriend wouldn't see them until they could yell surprise. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food was great. We will be back!
My friends and I had a wonderful time. We were a large party and Boogaloo accommodated us very well. The food was quick and very flavorful. I had the tuna and it was excellent. As was the cornbread. I did not hear anyone complain about their food and our server was very friendly.
Reservation didn't work well through Open Table. It showed a 6:45 seating available for 4 and it was 7:30 before we got a table. Something definitely wrong with the system somewhere. Not sure if it is the restaurant's problem or Open Table but it didn't work. Food was excellent. I won't trust the reservation again but the food is excellent.
Went here after it was recommended by a friend. I went with my roommate/best friend. I think my only complaint was the seating arrangement. It was awkward, and we were RIGHT next to a couple on a date. Like I was almost touching one of them. Plus it was SUPER dark. But other than that, it was fantastic. Food was great! Not too expensive, especially for the quality. Have already recommended to other friends.
Over I enjoyed my experience at Boogaloo. We were seated quickly as we had reservations.
The tapas we had were the Crawfish Cakes (fantastic) and the Louisiana BBQ Shrimp (pretty tasty). We shared the two tapas between 4 people so we all at least got to try a couple different ones. For an entree I had the crab stuff steak(not the actual name of the dish) and it was really good and the steak was cooked perfectly.
The service was good but it was pretty loud and our waitress was more on the soft-spoken side so she would come check on us and it was like she was just moving her lips without words coming out. We all just shook our heads in agreement since she was super nice.
Being a popular restaurant, it was very crowed and it was a little too close quarters for me and my guests. We had to reposition our table a couple times in order to be able to relax and eat without literally rubbing elbows with the other patrons.
Overall, the experience was good and I think I'll be back. Definitely a good place to go with a group as that's what the atmosphere calls for. Wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet outing. If you go on a weekend night be sure to make reservations because there will be a wait!
The staff was very efficient and knowledgeable. When we arrived, there were not many customers there so the noise level was low. As more people came in, the louder it became. This is an issue with many places not just Boogaloo. The food was well prepared. I ordered the calamari which had a lot of mixed vegetables and sauce. I was expecting a more simple tapas. I ordered a mojito which was not to expectation. There was a little more mint than I would have used and not enough sugar.
