Bonterra Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
It took us 2.5 hours to finish a 4 course menu!
Slow service even though we were the first ones to show for dinner. Taste menu super small quantities more than usual, the main was lamb but I had more fat in my meat than actually meat. I asked for a subsitituion for my dessert for another menu that they had available and even though the desserts were the same price, they did not let me do it (which is ok but not even saying I see I can do for it)...I dont think I would go back...
It was our first time at Bonterra Trattoria and we really enjoyed it. The service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious. We had the taster menu. It was a little pricy but worth it the price; it was so good we wish we would had more. We plan on going back for another special occasion and we definitely recommend this restaurant. There is also offer 50 free parking stalls in the back of the restaurant which is a big plus going downtown for dinner.
I went there dinner for girls night.. We did not much know about menu (Italian foods) server kindly explained and recommended foods. Foods were so good taste and right size of portion. We ordered pizza as well located beside Bonterra. Patio looks so good we want to go there summer again and try pizza bar soon.
After going to this restaurant many times over the past ~10 years, this time was not good. We were one of the first tables in for lunch, and the restaurant never got above half full. Our food took over 40 min to arrive, even though we both ordered the daily "special". Other tables were served bread and offer pepper for the meals, we were not. Other tables also received their food before us, even though we ordered before them, and the same. The special was ravioli, and it was very bland. could have used some tomatoes or basil or olives, or flavour (or even pepper, if we had been offered). The server asked how our food was and when we told him it was fairly bland, he just said "oh" and walked away.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this wonderful restaurant! It offers gourmet Italian dishes with a variety of options. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the pumpkin ravioli dish. It was so delicious and borderline decadent. The option to order a half portion for a reduced price was excellent. My elderly mother was so glad to be able to finish her meal without wasting food, and she was amazed at the number of large fresh shrimp she found in her fettucine. I asked the waitress for advice about two dessert options, and she definitely steered me in the right direction: the chocolate terrine was to die for, and the cranberry jam that accompanied it was perfect and quite unusual. Besides the truly delicious food, the décor was equally stunning: tasteful, elegant and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. HIGHLY recommend!!!!
Food was super tasty
Service was not the best....we had to pay the automatic gratuity of 18% and the service was not the best. I find this so silly and not fair because it gets put onto our bill if more then 8 people....
I don't mind paying the gratuity, but the service better be amazing, which it wasn't.
Very slow with orders coming out on a Monday, had to ask multiple times for a birthday cake to be fridged.
