Great place to celebrate Valentines Day. Food is amazing but can get loud there.
Great food! We will definitely be back very soon!!!!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and loved everything about it. The service was friendly and knowledgeable and attentive. The food was spectacular. The ambiance was authentic and felt significant without feeling stuffy. Highly recommended.
Before we move away, we thought we should finally make it to Bonnell's for dinner. It was everything one would hope for...professional, delightful staff, and spectacular food!
The only "downer" for us was that we didn't notice until we got home that we had received the wrong "doggie bag" with our leftovers. I had eaten less than half of my amberjack, risotto with crab, and zucchini, and my husband had a large chunk of steak with most of his brussels sprouts and potatoes remaining. Looked like makings for delicious breakfast and dinner the next day. Sadly, when we opened the bag at home, it was someone else's leftover steak with about 3 brussels sprouts and a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. No fish, no risotto, no zucchini. And it was somebody else's steak, so it went in the garbage. Half of a $150 dinner, vanished :-(
Fortunately, after I called to mention the mix-up, the kind manager promised us a little gift certificate compensation next time we're in, but it was still a huge disappointment. Lesson learned...always check your bag BEFORE you leave!!
I went for my birthday and it was lots of fun! Our server, Chad was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is great. Even when it's crowded, it's never loud, and the food was delicious!
I had the buffalo tenderloin and my friend had the beef tenderloin. Both were outstanding, as were the sides that came with them.
We got our dessert on a decorated plate with a candle in it, and it was complimentary too. Again, the key lime pie was yummy. We didn't leave a crumb. John Bonnell was there too, speaking to his customers. Such a friendly guy. It was a wonderful experience all around.
Valentines celebration! My husband and I enjoyed our evening at Bonnell’s. We could have shared a meal but the menu was outstanding so of course we had to order an appetizer, two entrees and dessert. Everything was delicious.
Bonnell's never disappoints! The entrees range from wonderful sea food dishes to rabbit, to Elk, to steaks, and seasonal fancies. The atmosphere is business casual with a romantic flare. Separate from the dining area is a super bar. Our experience was wonderful. We forget how much we enjoy Bonnell's.. we will be coming back more often.
Excellent on all counts!!
Bonnell's is my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth. It's really not even close.
no parking... limited steak selection...over priced... not impressed
We were very pleased with this restaurant. The food was very good with great flavor, and rivals (beats) Del Frisco and Reatta.
This is the second time we've bee to this restaurant. The ambience is cozy and the food is superlative. We both had the shrimp and grits and the Oysters "Texafeller" and they were both original and very tasty. We then both had the redfish in pecan crust and it was cooked to perfection. We topped the dinner off with a crème brulee and Keoki coffee. We were intrigued to learn that Chef Bonnell also has a seafood restaurant (Waters) and can't wait to try it.
This restaurant is always our go-to on date nights and special occasions. We venture out to other restaurants but always find ourselves coming right back to Bonnell’s. My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant!
Food was very good & different in that you can find selections like elk or buffalo. Restaurant is noisy, so not a place for a quiet dinner. Service is excellent- waiter was very knowledgeable, although I found it odd that we had to ask for bread.
Great place for a Valentine date night.
Great food. Very interesting menu.
A symphony of flavors.
Can't wait to return
Our server was amazing. She was very attentive and gave great recommendations. We also received a free dessert for a birthday!
The drinks and food were exceptional. We will definitely be back.
Great way to spend our 51st as we have several previous anniversaries.
High class but comfortable atmosphere with considerate service. Texas cuisine, especially the pheasant, was wonderful.
Service is always excellent. The wagyu was a little tough to chew, but overall it was good food.
Seemed that the sauces are becoming sweeer each time we dine. Understand trying new combinations of ingrdients but added sweetness should not be a recognized component to protein. Allow the nature of the ptotein to speak for itself with savory dimensions. Ribeye with huckleberry was interesting but would not order again. Snapper texture and flavor was great but sauce had a sweet component. Sides worked well and overall presentation was worthy of Bonnell.
Outstanding food service and atmosphere! Been going to Bonnell’s for 4 years and we are never disappointed !
It was my first visit to Bonnell's. I will absolutely return.
We dined tonight to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Everything was delicious, our server recommended a lovely champagne for our celebration, and we had a wonderful experience. This was not by far our first time at Bonnell’s, and we’ll surely be back again.
As always, service was good. Was a little disappointed with chili relleno, somewhat bland. Ceasar salad was unexceptional. Elk tacos, butternut squash soup, shrimp and grits were excellent. Apple crisp dessert was more pie like
EVERYTHING was delish!! And we loved our waitress...so funny and very on top of it all.
Always great food with exceptional service from Joel.
We have been going here for about 15 years and it never disappoints us.
I have no excuse as to why it's taken me so long to finally dine at Bonnell's, but I now know their reputation and good name are well-deserved. Between the entree and the main course I had duck, quail, elk, buffalo and a sausage. The meats, even the buffalo, were surprisingly tender. Everything was cooked to perfection and the reduction sauce was the best I've had outside of a couple of restaurants in France.
The redfish was very good. My husband's trout was fabulous! Good service and very prompt giving us plenty of time make our show at the Bass. Great neighborhood restaurant. Thanks
