I’ve had lunch here more times than I can count and the food has always been superb. I like the varied and exotic choices as well as the more basic fare. All the food seems to be hand crafted with a wonderful knowledge of how to combine culinary expertise with creativity. Thanks!
Without Waze I would never have gotten to this place but I’m glad I did. Extraordinary food, not a big menu but carefully crafted. The Bonnell’s margarita was excellent.
Love those Oysters Texas fellers! And the buffalo was amazing.
Out favorite place to eat
Fantastic service and food. Great place for a casual dinner or a birthday celebration (as in this case). Wine list is excellent and the staff know the menu very well. Will be back!
Great service, great food - bison rib-eye with blue cheese sauce was cooked to perfection!
We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Bonnell’s at a friend’s recommendation and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. Exceptional service, comfortable but upscale environment, and incredible food. Our server was helpful and professional, and even provided a complimentary dessert to celebrate the occasion. We felt very pampered and enjoyed our meal very much. Definitely one of our top five dining experiences ever! We’ll make this a regular place to celebrate special occasions and look forward to coming back.
Our anniversary. We had friends join us. Food was delicious! Our server was wonderful - very attentive with great recommendations.
Was a delicious, meal , great service & wonderful time with life long friends!
Great selection and everything is made to perfection. Consider quail or steak they are the best.
We've been wanting to try Bonnell's for a long time, and it did not disappoint. Great food, great service, great drinks. So, so good!
$8 for two teabags? REALLY? Bonnets thinks too much of it’s fine dining to take advantage of its customers. I won’t be back.
A family favorite for special occasions. Services is impeccable, daily special offerings are always creative and delicious, wine list is very good with the chef's special offerings and dessert....save room!! Recommend reservations, but have walked in and gone to bar area to eat. They are very accommodating.
We have been to Water's Bonnell several times but neglected this restaurant for location reasons. Well worth the extra drive time to get to south Ft Worth. Food Atmosphere and wine were all sublime!!
I was impressed with the fried oysters then everyting went south. Asked for a medium rare Wagyu RIbeye. Was served well done. Got brussel sprouts as a side which had a bland taste to them and was like eating them raw. The truffle frites were okay but noting extraordinary. It was extremely loud and couldnt hear a thing my date or waitress said.
Great night. Goode exotic dining experience.
My elk was delicious but others that had the red fish were not impressed. The service unfortunately was slow and inattentive. I’m wondering if they had people call off? For those prices we would have expected immaculate service and attention.
Always enjoy this place and their creative menu. The absolute best Shrimp & Grits and the Pecan Crusted Redfish is our favorite.
As usual, this restaurant always pleases. I live in Colorado and try to visit this restaurant when I am in town. I had the rabbit enchiladas which were absolutely amazing. The blend of spices and rabbit was amazing. We also shared the mini elk tacos with cheese grits as an appetizer.....I don't even like grits, but again the different flavors melded together to make an amazing dish.
Bonnell's had some huge shoes to fill for us. We'd read reviews and heard through word-of-mouth it was almost in a league of its own in Fort Worth and it truly is. We haven't found a better fine dining experience in the area... Bonnell's is fortified at the top of our list.
The food was tremendous with service that was prompt. The buffalo tenderloin is my favorite. I’m never disappointed here.
Have been going there for over 10 years. Excellent food and service as always.
I drove from North Dallas and it was worth every mile.
Well we heard this was supposed to be a good place to eat, guess we were told wrong. Wife ordered the Elk tenderloin medium rare, I ordered a mixed plate, elk, quail, sausage etc. When the meal finally came my wife's tenderloin was WELL done, my plate was barely warm. Waitress took them back and said they would both be redone. Wife's came out and they had put the new tenderloin back on the same plate on top of the same asparagus that was now soggy and mushy. My plate was the same just heated up. I asked waitress she said yes they had decided to just heat mine up! We sent them back and told her we were done and leaving. The manager finally came over and said they would prepare something else or would give us a $100 gift card which we refused. She then said she would go ahead and take the meals off our check.
We go every anniversary... Love it... they always remember us.
The food and the service were both outstanding for our wedding anniversary dinner. Had the Redfish and Buffalo tenderloin. Delicious.
Did not care for the apple fritter dessert.
The food was delicious as always, but our service was pretty poor.
Was a bit disappointed. Service was great, but food was kind of lackluster, especially for the price. Noise level prevented us from being able to hear each other without really raising our voices.
Bonnell's is always good. I think the food might even have been better than the last time we visited. The service was pretty good, even though it was very busy on a Wednesday evening. The noise level, however, almost made us want to leave. We could not hear each other across the table and the raucous group of men at the next table only got louder and louder as the evening progressed. The tables are VERY close to each other, so there is no getting away from each other, either. That is an enormous drawback at this restaurant. And one of my guests who had never been (a long time resident of Fort Worth), noted that it is a funky little restaurant--the wagon and windmill outside, the animal skins thrown across the leather, overstuffed couch, etc. I am not certain that is the "vibe" the Bonnells are going for, but that is what she thought. It is a shame, because I tend to think of it as a higher end restaurant. Overall, good and good value.
Owner and Chef Jon Bonnell's cuisine is outstandingly delicious--and he is a wonderful perso, too. His staff has obviously learned a lot from him.
Always a pleasure. Good food great service. The seasonal rabbit enchiladas were divine. The redfish was dry but my guest told me after the meal... so that’s his problem not the restaurant’s.
Bonnell’s has been a favorite of ours for many years. The food is always done to perfection and the shrimp and grits appetizer is my go to meal! It has house made tortilla chips, spicy, cheesy grits and shrimp. I love the grits so much I usually do not eat many of the shrimp! The waitstaff is outstanding and the noise level is never too loud. We love it!
Our table of 4 loved our food and the service couldn't have been better!!
Best spot in Cowtown, bar NONE!
Great food! Wagyu ribeye was excellent as was the bacon wrapped Wild Boar entrée. Will definitely return for another special occasion.
We went for our Ten year anniversary dinner. They were busy, and we arrived maybe 5 minutes before our reservation, but they seated us almost immediately. The waiter was just attentive enough and very nice. The appetizers, Shrimp, andouille sausage and grits as well as the Queso Blanco w/chorizo were awesome! We shared the mixed grill entree. With the added Elk tenderloin and Lamb, it was plenty for us, and it was also wonderful!
Excellent food and the service was perfect. Would highly recommend. Bartender was excellent also knew how to mix drinks perfect.
Absolutely fabulous food! The beef tenderloin is my favorite.Bonnell’s is THE place to go for excellent food and service! A friend was in town from Ct. and we were able to have a nice long visit.
If you like game meats, this place is wonderful for that. Had elk, buffalo rabbit, etc. Very good food.
Very awesome waiter Dan he knew his menu was patient professional yet friendly gave us time to enjoy each entree great price fir quality of food love it
