Bongos Cuban Cafe Orlando
Created by music superstar Gloria Estefan and her producer husband Emilio, this vibrant restaurant is a mosaic of colors and flavors set against fabulous Latin music and a celebratory spirit.
The service was top notch, the live music and dancing made it a real experience. Would definitely visit again.
Not authentic. Expensive for below average food. On the plus side the service was very fast and our waiter was fantastic.
Love Bongos! Food has changed a bit but experience is always great! Amazing server.
Amazing pork dishes and great live music atmosphere. The salsa dancers definitely added to the experience as well. Overall great dining experience
The service was great and the food fantastic. A little loud but fun. This restaurant is in downtown Disney; hence, it’s a touristic spot. The only thing was that they didn’t have our open table reservation and the didn’t acknowledged my friends bday.
Every time my husband and I visit Orlando we have to go to Bongos. The food is always delicious and they always have live music and dancers. The only downfall is waiting on line even if you have reservations. We waited 30 minutes on a very long line in the rain. Then when we got to the reservation desk and the women couldn't access our open table reservation. They need to have a new system for reservations or they need to hire more people!
The music echoed throughout the restaurant making conversation difficult. Also, the fried plantains were over cooked, hard to cut and tasteless. The main dish of shell fish was quite good. Others enjoyed their main dishes but nothing remarkable.
The adult meals were delicious. The children’s meals were not very good.
The food and the service are excellent
The avocado salad was amazing. Everything else was okay.
Great atmosphere, food and service! Also, very timely in getting our table and food. Thank you!
It was difficult to hold a conversation when the music was playing. Overall the acoustics were challenging. The vegetables were undercooked. The wait staff was efficient on the order, but did not pay attention to followup such as refilling water. Prices were high for the type of food.
Food was good and served quickly. VERY loud though and hard to have a conversation at a table of 4. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the loud entertainment was going to be there. I may have chosen another option.
Bongos is always amazing. The food is full of flavor and always cooked perfectly. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. If you go in the evening on a weekend day, there is authentic Cuban music and dancers. It is an experience all by itself.
We were a group of 8 that came to eat after a long day at Disney world. The waiter came over I believe his name was Richard and explained the drink menu and after we told him that we chose not to drink any longer because we had drinks at Epcot earlier in the day his care level had changed . The orders were taken and one in our party simply asked to make sure his order was heard about an add on side . The waiter replied with “you see this line I made when you told you me , that means I heard you” and gestured him scribbling. We were given no refills following that . Then finally when food arrived we noticed that our appetizer had never arrived . We told the waiter and he said he forgot to put it in “but you had plenty of food so it’s ok “ is what he told us . We made a face as if he was crazy Becuase if we are paying who are you to tell us if we had enough or not ? After the faces were made he brought us the app that was missing and said it was on the house . When it came time for the checks we noticed 18% gratuity was added . 7 people in the party were servers and 1 was a manager for a restaurant. We were very aware of tipping and had planned on taking care of him . But we don’t know if he was rude Because the tip was included already and it didn’t matter if he was nice or if we simply looked young . As the checks were passed back to him because of the incident we dicided not to leave an additional tip to the 18% we already tipped . The waiter would not leave the area until we payed , maybe thinking we would walk out ? So he stared at all of us take out our purses and pay . When he walked 2 feet away and opened the cash to see he had only recieved the 18% from each of us he looked at us and sighed as if we could not see him feet away from us . For me as a server I would never open my tip in front of my table or tell them that they had enough food to make light of a situation . It was a mediocre experience and the only good thing about the dinner was the food.
Missed some live music so ambiance was just ok.
The food was great the waiter was very smart knew everything on the menu and we had a great time
Great food, great drinks. Thank you. Is this 50 characters yet?
Too loud to carry on a conversation. No reservations line. Might not return.
We are frequent visitors to Disney Springs and finally decided to give it a try for lunch. The traditional Cuban sandwich was the best I’ve ever had! Will definitely be back!
It was a great time, in great company. Food was very good, so was our server (Melissa).
I only discovered Bongos this March....not sure how I missed it. The place is wonderful. Staff was outstanding. I asked to sit in a particular area on a very busy March Break Saturday night and they happily accommodated my party. Live Cuban band complete with dancers was a fantastic treat. I actually went there twice in a week and I'll be sure to visit every time I'm in the Orlando area. Bravo Gloria Estefan...you have one terrific restaurant.
We celebrated Grandpa’s birthday at Bongos. We have been there many times but it was a first for Grandpa! Our server, Guillermo, was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious!
Too noisy, poor food, inexperienced waiter. Very touristic place where you pay for its fame.
A fun evening. Very high noise level. I believe. It at least for us is a one time. Event. It was a fun place for a birthday celebration. Food was very good. Good portion size also
Great place as long as you have a reservation . We had a blast
Excellent Cuban food, the pork was really tasty, the empanadas, the Cuban tour plate , everything we tried was delicious.
Food and music were good. We made reservations but still had to wait in a long line. Also had to wait in our reservations till we called a manager. I wanted to sit by the music and was told to tell the hostess when I came in. When I did they said they couldn’t take preferences due to being busy. Was sat way on upper level and couldn’t even see band or dancers.
Excellent service and food was delicious.
The food is always wonderful! A fun experiance! We've been there dozens of times!
Had the braised ribs as recommended by waitress . 3 dry pieces of meat in sauce .( $10 for each piece) So disappointed!!! Will not return and not suggest. If I could upload picture of food I would . Made reservation on open table and they forgot to check me in. I received and email alerting me that I missed my reservation as I ate the mashed plantains. I Had to alert the front desk that I was here. Still waiting to see if I was charged for a no show ! One star
Similar to all Orlando food, the quality was chain-food like and nothing great. Just average. Very pricey for the quality. Music was good and the service was excellent.
We were there for 3.5 hours and waited 1.5 hours after our appetizers to receive our food. Food came out cold.
Food was expensive and the meat was dry. It was just a heap of dried pork on a plate with no sauce and no veggies or anything. Most shocking thing I’ve ever seen. The waiter was short with us and pretentious. Beer was warm. Best, after leaving and paying over 260$ for 3 adults and two kids meals and just 3 drinks, Open Table alerted me I had not kept my reservation. Since I travel frequently and use open table I wanted to get this fixed. I would never drop a reservation and be a “no show.” After 20 minutes at the chaotic reception desk a manager fixed it. The reception and hostess people have no clue. I can’t imagine what the chef is thinking. The place is a mess.
TERRIBLE service from our waiter. Food was good, nothing spectacular
Not enough vegetarian options, server kept forgetting my order. But was good with the rest of the people at my table.
On vacation... Nice for a very large, tourist oriented restaurant.
The service was very good, the atmosphere on the upper deck was great. The food fell way short on flavor. Missed the mark as it was cooked well but had minimal flavor and was quite unremarkable. Something i might have expected at red lobster......
Luckily i was with great family and friends, thus not worth making a scene.
The food is way overpriced, not only in regard to portion but also quality.
