The surroundings and meal were okay but the waitress was not a happy camper. The other staff was fine but she did not want to be bothered. Kinda snarly. Sorry. We'd go back and hope it was just a fluke.
Sorry, Gloria but you have to do something about your food. I have never had such tasteless food in a Cuban restaurant. The bar was out of the beer we like and no Arroz Pollo or Roasted Chicken. I don't think we will be going back again.

Bad dining experience. Food was awful. Decor is lovely. It's too bad the food was awful and we had stomach aches for the entire night and day after.
We went to Bongo's for the first time this past Saturday evening. We had requested a booth and the Hostess originally said there was none available. She then looked further & spoke to another staff member & then took us to a booth, which we greatly appreciated. The atmosphere was just what we had hoped it would be....sexy, romantic, yet lively. It was a very busy Saturday night and our server had at least 4-5 full tables which we understood to be the reason that our service was a little slow for all courses. My Caesar salad with grilled shrimp came out perfect but my Husband's chicken entrée came out cold. We decided not to send it back as it would probably take too long to get it back out to our table. Overall, we would definitely go back to Bongo's.
Although overall experience was good - I have been struggling with getting in touch with a member of management since we left a Nordstrom bag with gifts at the venue. As of today, I have left 4 messages and still not getting any response back on the whereabouts, if any, of our missed items. It is unfortunate since the rest of the evening was good - it has been a disappointment on our part (since we go there often) the lack of response from the venue. Not even to acknowledge the concern - very poorly handled.
For 2 people they charged us a $22 gratuity charge
My wife and I dined at Bongos before going to the Cirque Kurios show at the stadium. We love Cuban food so we thought we'd give Bongos a try. We arrived at opening so there was only 3 other tables occupied. We asked to sit in a booth and they told us we could not sit in one because it was all reserved. There was no reservation card on any table and only one couple came in during the hour we were there. I over heard the couple ask for a booth as well and they were told the same thing. So the hostess decided to sit them right next to us even though the restaraunt was mostly empty. The waiter was inattentive yet pushy, on the sales of multiple drinks even after telling him the we did not want anymore, when he was around. Even with the restaurant being practically empty the food took almost 40 minutes to make it to our table. We ordered Ropa Vieja and Picadillo. Not two dishes that take 40 minutes to make. Also my wife's picadillo was maybe room temperature at best. My food was hot but for the money we paid for dinner this restaraunt is not worth it. The waiter did nothing to try and remedy the cold food and acted put off when we asked for the check before we even finished eating. We usually tip 20% everywhere we go unless the service is really horrible. I was a waiter all through college so I know what it's like to live off tips. They charged 18% automatic tip to the check. We didn't mention it because it's not worth the trouble but the service was not worth 18%. For just two drinks picadillo and ropa vieja the total bill was $80. I have made better Ropa in my crock pot at home. My advice to anyone thinking about trying Bongos is to save your money and go elsewhere not worth it at all.
I went there with my husband and my 3 children. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the live music. The waiter was very pleasant!

You guys are horrible and have zero management skills. You need to learn to work your reservations so that people with reservations get sat on time and don't have to eat pretzels next door for dinner.
BY FAR the WORST dining experience I've had in many years! The #1 reason we will NEVER return was treatment, specifically the policy of this restaurant in tolerating abusive patrons & prioritizing them over polite, civilized guests like my wife & I.
We had a 6:45 reservation via Open Table. At 6:50, we & at least 1 other party with 6:45 reservations, watched an older man in a light blue sweater, with his wife & two school aged children, pitch a fit to the two lady hostesses, complaining obnoxiously he had a show to catch, had a 7:00 reservation (also via Open Table), had been waiting since 6:35 & why weren't they seated yet. He bragged he scoped out the restaurant & claimed to know there were open tables. They were hovering the hostess stand, wouldn't back up, blocking other patrons from being able to approach, & wouldn't stop complaining. They continued blabbing to everyone around them while getting the hostess, visibly frustrated & worked up. I felt bad for her.
He ultimately was rewarded & this obnoxious patron was seated first, at or prior to 7 & before at least 2 other parties with earlier reservations. We were not seated until 7:05. We too were attending the same show, booked an earlier time slot for dinner, yet we were deemed to be less important because WE didn't pitch a fit & make a scene at the hostess stand.
I am gracefully forgiving of most any mistake or bad situation BUT, will not allow myself to be disrespected by a business or its staff, by placing greater importance on rude, obnoxious & disrespectful patrons over me.
Catering to, placating & obliging these folks is what empowers them. Service establishments need to stand up and ask these folks to LEAVE, & go elsewhere. If not, those are the only patrons you'll have left. We won't be returning.
Additionally, the wait staff seemed very understaffed, couldn't keep up, food was not good, not warm, pork was dry. Not a good value. No visible manager around. Decor & atmosphere has potential.
Very unfortunate experience. Had a 6:15 reservation for an 8:00 show at Hard Rock Live. service was terrible. By 7:40 no food was served. 4 other parties walked out. Waiter was non existent- never asked us if we wanted drinks, never came by the table to apologize for food delay. When I approached him- he argued with me. Very unprofessional. Food came with 10 minutes to spare- no time to eat. Restaurant had the nerve to include gratuity on check. On a positive note, they did the right thing and comped the check.
The service, once the table was set, was excellent. Would have expected quicker table availability as we were one of the first groups to arrive. Our reservation time was 6 pm.
I rebooked for Thursday at 6:45. Horrible experience. I had tickets for a show next door at 8 pm. We checked in at 6:40 and was told we would be called no more than 15 minutes. Call never came. Had to pursue other restaurants to find them all full because of the show. Ended up having a large pretzel for dinner. As the show began, I received a text my table was ready. AT 8:00. Guess all the folks who were also going to show departed at 7:45pm. After the mad dash to get the bills paid, they finally got around to us. We clearly saw people who got there after we did and after our reservation time be seated. Some clearly did not have a reservation as I saw them righting down names where my reservation was on their computer. There appeared to be a preference for Latin people, especially young men and pretty girls in short dresses. I have nothing good to say about this restaurant and will never try it again without a serious apology.
This was a disappointment. I took my parents and husband out for a holiday meal, a special occasion since I don't live close by to my parents. The menu looked terrific, and the look of the restaurant (the decor, the lighting) was just funky enough to be fun. But the appetizers were dry (pulled pork sliders) and the maduros under-cooked (which the waiter could not care less about). Yet the worst of it was that I was hosting this special get-together, and the waiter fully ignored me. He did not clean my plates with the others, did not ask my drink order, did not care to listen to my feedback on the appetizers or the plantains. He spoke only to my husband, as if I did not exist. And since the gratuity is included, I guess the bad service doesn't matter because I can't do anything about it. All in all, disappointed in the experience and won't go back to either this location or the ones in Orlando or elsewhere.
Went for our company Christmas party and had a wonderful time. Not only was the atmosphere beautiful the food was amazing!!! The server recommended the chef specials and the majority of our party ordered the specials. I have the surf and turf which was so delicious. Best lobster I've ever had. My husband ordered the rib eye and I literally watched him eat that with his eyes rolling back. He is very picky about his steaks and he told me it was the best steak he's had in a while. The drinks were delicious and the experience as a whole was great. I wish I had gotten my servers name because he was fantastic and so attentive. All in all the experience was great and I definitely plan on going back.
The food was great, the ambience was lovely really great place I recommended.

I was in Hollywood for a week and was looking for a place to eat Cuban food so I decided to check it out, I'm absolutely thrilled that I did, talk about great food-service- atmosphere-drink great live music, I had a great time I absolutely come back again love this place.
We were disappointed. The food wasn't what it use to be. The service was lacking. We had to wait for plates when our main dish came out. We had to ask for water refills.
Not impressed. Felt like dining in a morgue that night. Not coming back.
We made a reservation for 18 on a Sunday and it was very empty but this made it nicer to be able to talk other times you have to yell over the music or the loud chatter. They refused to seat us at a table until all the entire party had arrived even though 12 of us were there, we still waited 45 minutes at the bar that did not accommodate a group. The drinks were extremely expensive and served in small glasses. This was very frustrating and finally we just asked to be seated, where we could at least be chatting over appetizers and drinks. Our server was very nice but never asked us if we wanted Separate Checks so you can imagine in the end this caused a big mess. I did however ask for a separate bill, and to my surprise a very high gratuity rate was already added to the bill one of which I would not have offered our server. The food was very tasty probably my best takeaway from the experience.
A reservation over 12 people requires a $25 credit card fee, but if you cancelled or didnt show, you can this back in the form of a gift card. So since we only had 12 people, I thought I would get the gift card, but none was offered. Maybe for a more loose party this is a nice place, maybe on a day with music, but a friend get-together or large party, it's not the right venue. I would not likely return, it was not remarkable or largely impressive to do so.
We had a great time at dinner with our server Rafeal. He was able to explain and recommend the menu items to us, help celebrate my BFF's 50th bday celebration, split our check among all the people that were in our party and never miss a beat. We will come back so he can take care of us again. Great Service - 5 stars for him and the food quality and we loved the musical vibe.
Great service and the seafood rice dish was mouth watering. It was a belated birthdate celebration and the first time for the both of us at Bongos, it will not be the last.
