This was an excellent choice for us to celebrate some birthdays and an anniversary. We have eaten at Bonfyre several times before, and the quality of the dinners was as excellent. Our server, Ty, was friendly, helpful, available if needed, and prompt, without hovering over us (I hate that!).
We went out at the start of this difficult time of business closures during the Covid-19 pandemic, so the dining room was not as full as a usual Saturday night. However, there was still a decent amount of guests dining, and still the noise level was quite manageable.
This is a place I would recommend to anyone celebrating a special occasion or looking for a date night experience. The food is good, the menu has a nice selection without being overwhelming, and they change some of their menu items on a regular basis to acknowledge seasonal changes. I hope you get Ty as your server! He was the best.
We love this place. Great food, nice place to connect.
Always a great meal, service and experience. Would recommend.
Chicken was ice cold sent it back twice they gave me seven dollars off Big deal I really like to eat with my wife
I love this place! Best Saturday and Sunday brunch in town and no crowds to fight.
Our latest visit was not as good as some we have had. We had table for 6, and they put is parallel to, and to the side and in front of the kitchen, so quite a lot of light glare in half of our eyes. My rotisserie chicken, unfortunately, was a bit overdone and therefore dry - I have had better there. Others in our group really liked the food, though.
We needed a quiet place to talk and Bonfyre was quiet and our waitstaff was attentive, but not intrusive. The food was good. We could have used a bit more light at our table -- it was cozy, but super dark.
The curry with tofu was delicious and my husband really enjoy his steak. Our server (Boon) was very nice and accommodating to our kids’ requests.
First visit - great selection of food, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff! Will come back!
I was not impressed with the meat trio plate. The seafood trio plate was great but would have been much better if the risotto was actually warm. A bit pricey for the quality of food in my opinion. The server we had was amazing.
A great go-to place for consistently good food and diverse menu with a nice atmosphere and plenty of room.
Good food, way too expensive
Bonfyre is a treasure for lunch. It has a great menu, helpful staff, and an inviting atmosphere. A fine restaurant!
We had a group of eight people out for a business dinner. We had appetizers drinks our entrées and a couple of desserts. The staff were excellent, and the food was great. We enjoyed ourselves
We always enjoy stopping by the Bonfyre! Service is excellent as well as the food. Great place to grab a bite after a Badger game or go for a steak dinner. You always know you are going to be happy with whatever you order.
Nice drink and wine selection too.
We came to the restaurant because my 12 year old said she had been here before and it was amazing. The prices per meals were higher than we were wanting to spend but we did stay and I am very happy we did.
We ordered the Maytag Potato Chips and the Cheese Curds for appetizers. Both were incredible. Easily the best I have ever had on both.
The entrees ordered in our party were Grilled Shrimp, Shrimp Enchiladas, Pepperoni Pizza and the Seafood Cobb. Portions are very large and with the appetizers I took most of my salad home. All meals were thoroughly enjoyed.
Great food and atmosphere. Never disappointed when dining here!
First visit here but will definitely be back to try more of the menu! Desert Pear margarita was amazing!
Reliable and comfortable.
We requested a table in the back for a bit more privacy which they accommodated. Jen was our waitress and she was delightful. We all enjoyed our meals including delicious cheese curds. I had the seafood trio which I highly recommend!
Our server was excellent - don’t remember his name but he approached the table just the right amount of times. Very attentive!
We had the two specials for the evening...the Sea Bass and the Surf and Turf. Both were amazing and the service was top notch! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Great American style cuisine, great steaks and sea food. Wonder drink selection.
The food was very good - I highly recommend the twice baked potato! We had a reservation on Valentine's Day and our table was ready right on time. Our table was a hightop right by the bar, I do wish I would have specified to have a table or booth that wasn't right next to the bar. Our server was very nice and professional but we could tell she was a little overwhelmed with how busy the place was.
Service and food are good but I think it’s just become too expensive. Sorry because I used to eat lunch there often.
Food was very bland. I had to add a ton of salt to give my fried walleye and “seasoned” potatoes any flavor. Waiter was ok. Not great, not bad. Noise was louder than Cheesecake Factory which I didn’t think was possible. Typical restaurant where once they feel established the quality of food goes down.
Attentive and kind server, delicious food and a great atmosphere
I bring my little sister to bonfyre every year for her bday and I’m years past the wait staff has been amazing and really treated her like a princess. Our waiter this year seemed to busy to have our table and really made the experience feel rushed. Normally we are offered a dessert option outside of the small cups on the round thing and he didn’t even bother. :( in the past she has been able to get spaghetti (her fAv) and he wouldn’t even check if it was an off-menu option.
We will be back but a little disappointed this year.
Dinner at Bonfyre is perfect for date night, or for a family celebration. The food is always excellent. The only negative, which we comment on each time, is that the ambience is just too dark. We have difficulty reading the menu or the food. We'd recommend a little softer, lighter lighting.
Great service and food. Perfect pace for a leisurely lunch with girlfriends. We were not hurried nor ignored - sometimes a hard balance to obtain. We all enjoyed our food and the place is very comfortable and warm. Great experience during busy restaurant week. We will all be back soon!
The dining room was decorated nicely and plenty of space between tables. The food was overpriced and awful. Paid $60 for a ribeye that was such a awful cut of meat and chewy. The potato wasn’t anything special and the green beans were cold. The seafood trio was two large scallops, three large shrimp and a small salmon. The salmon was unexpectedly sweet and sticky. The risotto was chewy and flavorless with undercooked chunks of asparagus and a few other vegetables. The waitress was very attentive and helpful in the wine selection but unfortunately we could not get a bottle of the wine we were looking for as it was the last bottle and already opened. Who runs out of wine on Saturday?
We celebrated a birthday with 8 older women. I had emailed the restaurant to ask for a quiet table. Although I did not get a response to my email, I learned on arrival that my request had been noted and granted to the best of their ability. I also had asked if I could bring in a birthday cake, and permission was cheerfully granted. Our server Jennifer was outstanding - very personable and efficient. We told her we were going to Roller Derby afterward, and she said her cousin was a member of the Vixens. (We later found her cousin's "baseball card" on the merch table at the arena). The food was overall very good. We made a meal of appetizers and flatbreads, and the favorites were the truffle fries (good-size serving), the deep fried cheese curds, the asian slaw and the bianca flatbread. The party was a complete success.
Our server was very attentive and nice. I know my roommate got tipsy so I’m sorry for that but we had a great time!!
Friends gathering for lunch. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was very good if a bit expensive for lunch. The highlight of my order was the large cup of tortilla soup, a $6.50 add on when ordered with an entree. The shrimp enchiladas were very good, unfortunately the rice and beans were a disappointment. White rice with a few beans topped with with bean juice. My friends ordered the fish tacos, 3 tacos to an order and a burger with fries. We were all very satisfied.
Cold asparagus on steak and wedge salad meal. Server was annoyingly absentminded.
12 minutes to receive our drink order was a bit long. We ordered the special swordfish which was good but the included side couscous veg blend was cold. Our server was informed but offered no correction.
Food was great! The sea bass special was perfect and delicious. Service on the other had was not what you expect at their price point. It was extremely slow and we had felt ignored. Wasn’t asked about another round of drink until we were finished with out meals. We were offered dessert by a different waiter than our own. Along with our waiter making a comment that didn’t sit well with us when it came time to pay.
The food and service were excellent! It was a wonderful New Year's eve experience!
this was some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of eating!
