Greasy food, ribs were fatty and not worth the $ at all.
Had heard good thigns about the restaurant for some time and was looking forward to trying it. The wait staff and the car valet were terrific, and the food wasn't bad, but I would be surprised if I ever returned to the resaurant.
There was only one valet and he was so busy that people were waiting 10-15 minutes to drop off or pick up their cars. Consider on busier nights to invest more in valet service. People were yelling at the valet, and he was doing the best that he could under the circumstances.
Consider heat lamps on the patio, we had a reservation and were seated outside. It was quite cool and took away from the dining experience.
Our experience was great, maybe took a little long with our food but we had our drinks and the mood was great so I didn’t mind.
We had a great time with terrific food and an impressive scotch list! Attentive and well-coordinated service. It was loud, but then we were sitting in the covered area with open windows to Ventura, so that's part of the price of being semi-outside. I've been here a few times and will be back.
Was not special. Service was very slow, even for drinks. The menu was a Cuban pig roast which would insinuate roasting an entire pig. However, we were later told that they roasted only parts. They should not advertise that. We are Puerto Rican and the good was bland and overpriced.
If you are not sure what to get, order one of the platters. Comes with a little of everything and plenty to share. We had 5 people and ordered platter that serves 2-4 and still had leftovers. Ribs had just enough spice without being too hot. Pulled pork was my least favorite as it was a bit fatty. Added a salad, which was big enough to share as a starter. If you are into craft beer menu is quite large, just have two choices in mind as they don't always have everything.
Parking is the downside - it is either valet or prepare to walk!
I would come back just for the brisket. Deviled eggs were so good, we had 2 orders. Corn muffins were excellent. My brownie dessert sucked, it was burnt, but no complaints cuz it was free. My friend didn't like the tostada salad, but overall worth a revisit
We have always had great service and food here. It is right around the corner from where we live, so it's tough to justify going out to somewhere else. Be aware, it can get a bit noisy.
Good place to eat. It was very crowded being a Saturday so it was kinda noisy and hard to hear the person I was with.
I give it an A for L.A. BBQ from a true Texan. Great beef ribs -- meaty, quality, well smoked. Good, casual, upbeat vibe -- not quiet -- perfect for families with young kids or just adults seeking southern comfort on a plate.
It was a really good place overall and the service was excellent.
BBQ is excellent and the Brussels sprouts were maybe the best I've ever had. Great service. Just wish it weren't so loud!
It was So so. I’d say a 3 out of 5. Service was good, but food was so so. Meet was tuff, burgers messy, lots of good beers, place was ok. I might go back.
Delicious, good service both at bar and table !!!!!!!!
Crowded yet friendly, food was very good but not great, servers tried but were overwhelmed, forgot to fill drinks, never received our bread at all and our server was a bit sloppy with his handling of our food and drinks. Pricey but then again I would pay for good food so no complaints there
Great food, ambience and service. We have been coming every Wed. for 7 weeks to see our son in a play at the Whitefire Theatre across the street. We love this place and our waiter that we often get, Walker, is wonderful!!! The staff is friendly, professional and very alert to the needs of their customers!
A definite "Go To" place in Sherman Oaks!!!
The food is always good. I have been here many times and always enjoy the food and drink. The noise level has always been manageable, but not last Monday night. It was beyond terrible. Our party of 4 was seated in the restaurant section, as usual. There was a group of 6 drinkers seated in the middle of the dining room and they sounded more like a loud group of 20. We ALL commented how bad it was that night and we were all repeat visitors.
Please sit a drinking party in the bar so the rest of the diners can hear themselves and the people they're with.
This was a HUGE red flag for me and the group I was with as far as repeat visits. And we live close by, so this is NO BUENO!
So good! Fried Mac N Cheese and brisket were the highlights. Asparagus, tri-tip close second!
So disappointed. I had gone one other time a few months ago and had delicious bbq nachos. So I told my friend all about it and made a reservation and drove 40min. The nachos were not on the menu. I asked the server and he said they only serve them in the afternoon and after 10pm. It was 9:15 pm and I asked if he could relay my craving and plan to the chef to see if they would make them for me. He said they wouldn't and step around the corner then came back and said the chef said no. Then we ordered avacaod fries which were very bland with no dipping sauce and coconut shrimp tacos which were dry and fishy. Such a disappointment and with so many other fabulous restaurants in that are I will not go back.
We drive 65 miles to see our son performing for 7 consecutive Wed’s at The Whitefire Theatre across the street. We always dine at Boneyard and return for a post show drink. From the Valet to the Waitor we are treated in a friendly and professional manner. They remember us from week to week and demonstrate great customer service! The food is amazing no matter what we order and the ambience is energetic and fun!
First time here, and what a great find! We had dinner before a Hollywood Bowl event, and found great atmosphere, very good food, and wonderful service. I highly recommend Boneyard Bistro!
Good place!! !!!!!!!!!!
We all had a grand time
Very nice restaurant that everybody enjoyed highly recommend it.
We are coming here every Wed. for 7 weeks prior to seeing our son and the cast of "Of Mice and Men" at the Whitefire Theatre across the street. From the valet to the waiters to the ambiance and of course the food and drinks we love this place!!!! We follow up the theatre experience with drinks with the cast back at Boneyard!!! Keep doing what you are doing! And don't forget to catch the play. . . . on thru Aug. 22nd 2018!
Walker I think was our servers name, derp voice. He was wonderful, attentive, personable. Great guy! 👍🏻
Service was very good and patient, with our high maintenance guest. Food was just average, and overpriced. 17 for a chicken caesar.
Excellent and delicious food, we felt very well taken care of by the staff. Before we knew it, 3.5 hours had zipped by.
If you are coming here, give yourself the gift of time; Boneyard Bistro is worth it.
Ribs were great.....but I would go there again for the Brussel Sprouts and Burrata👌
Great ribs and fabulous drinks menu. Restaurant was a little warm due to heat wave.
Interesting BBQ menu variations.
BRISKET well prepared and tasty.
Liked the mac and cheese bites.
Good wine compliments.
Attentive accommodating server.
However, seems a bit overpriced overall.
My fiancé and I went for Dine LA week. This was our first time here. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and it’s a great spot to grab a drink or have a date night. They were extremely friendly.
Tried DineLA menu. Appetizers were 1/2 size. Smallish portion of overly smoked and somewhat dry ribs. Quarter chicken ok. Half sized desserts. Probably won’t return.
The food was very good, but we were glad we were there during happy hour -- the prices seemed high for a place that looked like casual dining. Those in our group who had mixed drinks were very happy. Wish our beer had been cold! (It was "cool.") But nice enough meeting place. Not really "special occasion" venue, which is why the high prices were surprising.
I went when it was very busy. It was pretty loud and the tables were too close together for my comfort. Food was excellent, but more expensive than I would like.
Very expensive and not worth it. Would not GO back . Food is ok nothing special.
Brisket, Ribs, Blue Burger, Slaw, Fries, Salas, Beer & Whiskey! Yum!
Always a hit at Boneyard!...it’s our “go to place” to take friends for a fun time with delicious filling food...servers are always helpful and friendly...cocktails and food never disappoint...
We love this place. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The manager makes it a point to circulate and check on customers which is a nice touch. Waiters are attentive but don’t rush you at all. The food is wonderful and the vibe is very chill.
They do a nice job!
Boneyard doesn’t get much attention for the traditional bbq items, but i think the ribs, chicken, and pulled pork are all excellent. Great sides too. Good cocktails and a nice wine and beer list. Great spot!
