BONDIR RESTAURANT is located in a residential neighborhood in the center of Cambridge which is known for it's sense of community &pride in it's diversity-a neighborhood filled with murals, parks, and public gardens.
OUR CUISINE is based on a simple premise: The ingredients we use are a story about the people who produce them. The most expressive ingredients are the freshest, coming from the ocean or the field, directly to our door. Relationships - cultivated over the years through time spent with foragers, fishermen, farmers, ranchers - color the daily menu.
OUR SERVICE is the most important aspect of our job. We want to create a personalized evening for each guest.

Wonderful little restaurant that is intimate and inviting, with a friendly waitstaff. Prix fixe menu means you only have to choose your drinks. Very interesting flavor combinations that you won't get at many places.
Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend.
A disappointing second visit. The service was stilted and cold. The food was good but unremarkable with the exception of the palate cleanser. Not sure that we will return - there is better value to be had elsewhere.
Fantastic restaurant. Each plate was artistic and creative. Food was very unique. This was my first time doing a wine pairing and I thought each wine choice enhanced the experience. I would absolutely do the wine pairing if you are on the fence.
I choose Bondir for my boyfriend's birthday, we tried the Strawberry Moon/Solstice menu that was featured on their website. We also opted in to the wine pairing, which is extra, and in our opinion as wine novices, was more than worth it. The romantic feel was exactly what we wanted, and while we dressed up, we could have gone a little more casual. There was nothing in our meal that we did not enjoy greatly. Our waiter was so nice and checked in on us often, but was never overbearing. The Strawberry tart at the end was incredible, and I am still thinking about it. As well, they gave us strawberries from their garden to take with us, which was super cute.
One 5-course menu per night, prix fixe at $68 (or $110 with wine pairings). Every dish was artfully composed but not in the least fussy or pretentious. The chef, Jason Bond, came to our table several times to serve courses, go over ingredients, and answer our questions. The other server was just as friendly and knowledgeable. We opted for wine by the glass and were rewarded with two terrific selections. Overall, the best meal we've had in our two years in Boston.
Was looking for a unique place to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and found this place recommended online. The set, pre-fixe menu did not disappoint with all the food and ingredients being so fresh and tasty. The kitchen was also to make some adjustments on the fly to individual dishes due to a food.
One of the best meals and dining experiences I've had in a while.
Outstanding Vegan Meal-- I went with a friend for the vegan tasting menu. Each course was beautifully presented and incorporated fresh foraged ingredients. I give it y highest recommendation.
Everything about it felt right, the relaxed, warm, romantic atmosphere, the feeling that we are at someone’s house. The dishes are inventive without pushing the boundaries to the point of confusion. Simply excellent.
An intimate setting with nice decor and quiet background music. Friendly and comfortable service. Tasty food, although for the price, one would expect more exotic ingredients. Certainly more farm to table in approach than a culinary adventure, and maybe a little expensive at that.
Excellent creative cuisine
impeccably creative and never disappointing outstanding cuisine.
We went to Bondir for our wedding anniversary celebration. I had been there before, but my husband had not. We both loved the whole dining experience. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding and the wine pairing (we shared one) was also exceptionally good and generous. It was a great dining experience and we will definitely go back again.
Excellent!we had a fantastic time and would recommend to all!
Wonderful meal start to finish. Jason and Kate and team made us feel welcome and patiently answered all of our detailed questions about sourcing and the philosophy of real food and farms.
15th Anniversary dinner was absolutely magnificent in presentation, service and delightful tastes. This dinner rivals our honeymoon meal at the infamous Canoe Bay, A Relais Chandeau awarded boutique B+B.
We had a wonderful experience. The food and service were outstanding. The courses were well balanced with flavors and portions. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Boston.
Wonderful experience in all regards. Creative food exquisitely presented in utterly charming, warm and welcoming little dining room. The scent of the fire in the reception-area fireplace was the perfect touch on a damp, dreary evening. The service is lovely and very knowledgeable. Each dish was an artful combination of ingredients with a welcome surprising note. Even the couple that didn't work quite perfectly (as we felt about the desserts) were well worth experiencing and had a lot to recommend them. Fortunately most of the dishes do work perfectly, and the prix fixe menu comes together in an excellent balance for a very fair price. Wines recommended were a great pairing. Looking forward to going back.
Wonderful little spot in the heart of Cambridge. Totally charming, service very good very knowledgeable about the dishes and very helpful, the food was outstanding! Every dish was delicious, inventive and well presented. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Very inviting atmosphere with creative courses! We had a fixed price menu of 4 courses with a palette cleanser before dessert. The only choice on the menu was one of two desserts and a giant wine list, everything else was already set. The server asked if we had any dietary restrictions but I’m not sure what they would do if we had any.
The waiter was very attentive, answered questions & was very knowledgeable about the food & how it was prepared!
Very nice meal. Not mind blowing for the price. We used a Gilt City coupon for the prix fix 7 course. It was clear that other diners who weren’t using the coupon were given different portions. Pretty poor. Also, the servers mentioned that we were having the “Gilt City Prix Fixe” menu several times aloud until we gently mocked them. Again fairly poor form.
Bondir was a wonderful experience. Me and my girlfriend were seated by the fire as we waited for our table to clear - the chef brought out sautéed barnacles - if i'm remembering correctly, they were from a forager who collects them and ships them overnight to Bondir, "less than 24 hours out of the sea." To be honest I'd never had barnacles before, but they were amazing.
Almost needless to say, the rest of the night was incredible. We were treated to a series of great wines paired with our glorious meal - courses of butternut squash, hamachi (amberjack), duck magret, a small 'palette-cleanser' sorbet, and finally two delicious desserts, an angel foodcake as well as a pudding. It was all fantastic.
Bondir is a great dining experience with a cozy atmosphere, our server was attentive to our every need, and the food is just... absolutely incredible.
If you're looking for subtlety and beauty in a special meal, this is your place. The drama is subdued, but there's plenty to observe, appreciate, and savor. For example, we went Valentine's week, and every dish had a small nod to red, white, or pink without being overstated. Probably the most special moment for me was getting to taste an American chestnut. I had read for years that they are much sweeter and more flavorful than European ones, and now I can say that's true. The entire restaurant feels like a labor of love.
Chef Bond has created a true culinary Nirvana. Every aspect of the dining experience was superb.
Delicious meal. Enjoyed every course. While nothing in particularly amazed me. Everything was excellent and creative. Highly suggest for a special occasion.
Wonderful food, perfect service. Charming ambience, love the fireplace. Elegant without being pretentious.
Top notch in every conceivable way. A vision executed to perfection with what appeared to be effortless grace. Pampered sans pomposity. Could keep raving, such a perfect dining experience.
Lovely fixed menu restaurant in East Cambridge.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and wish the service staff could acknowledge with a candle or somethinf
Every course on the prix fix was delicious. And knowing it is locally sourced makes it even better and we didn't leave too stuffed! The ambiance is cozy and it is easy to talk with your dining companions in a normal voice (not true in all restaurants these days.) But since this is a prix fix restaurant it is important for diners to take a look at the menu ahead of time and communicate with the restaurant if any of your party has diet restrictions. They will accommodate changes but advance notice makes it easier.
Excellent smoked duck with charred eggplant purée - sounds weird but it was delicious
Quaint and cozy place with creative fixed menu and very personable service. A special find in Cambridge!
It was good but they never got my opentable reservation which makes me question why I even bother with opentable.
Good environment and tasty food.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner celebrating a reunion with two close friends. The four of us have eaten at top-rated restaurants throughout the US and rate Bondir highly for the creativity, quality, and presentation of their tasting menu. The service was excellent and appropriately attentive but understated. Wine pairing choices were on point. We would highly recommend and will dine again at Bondir when visiting Boston area.
My husband and I visited Bondir on the first night of our trip to the Boston area. Chef Bond is to be commended for his outstanding menu that was both delicious and beautifully presented. He was able to accommodate my husband's dietary restrictions without skimping on taste, portion size, or presentation. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the ingredients in each dish and was attentive while allowing us to enjoy our meal/conversation without interruption. Fabulous experience worth repeating!!
Beautiful space, unique dishes.
