BOND at The Langham, Boston Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was delicious. I had the crispy eggplant and I must admit it was the best eggplant dish ever! Also had one of the signature cocktails and a glass of Pinot Grigio both of which were outstanding. My colleague had the lobster cavatappi which she said was delicious along with her wine pairing. A bit noisy but definitely worth it.
My favorite restaurant used to be the Julien, which was arguably the best French restaurant in Boston. It closed about a decade ago, and the Bond recently opened in the same location. I was hoping for a similar experience.
Unfortunately, that's not what I got. The food followed the current lean fad, as opposed to the full fat of traditional French dining, making it less delicious and less filling. There was a large, noisy group that appeared to be holding a cocktail party in a roped off section of the restaurant. The bar had been moved into the restaurant, which might not have been a problem except for the cocktail party. The server was okay, but not of the high degree of professionalism of the Julien.
To be fair, it was also about half the price of the Julien, after adjusting for inflation. The food was not bad for low fat food. It just wasn't what I was looking for, which was a quiet, elegant restaurant with traditional full fat food.
Service was great! This place is so cool and historic. Great place to have dinner, drinks, a meet for a special event. I had to increase my party count and they were so friendly and accommodating! Our service was great, she was friendly , quick, and a pleasure!
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Boston! Grand and sophisticated decor, yet very relaxed atmosphere. Extremely elegant, excellent service, delicious food, pricey but well worth it. I recommend it highly and I would definitely go again for any special occasion.
The food at bond was incredible, service was impeccable. Located in the financial district in downtown Boston, Langham Hotel. We stayed at the Langham and have visited Bond several times. Late night it turns into an awesome spot for late night drinks. The atmosphere is incredible, I highly recommend!
Pretty unimpressed when it comes to dinner here, this is really more for drinks and gathering with a small to medium sized group. We've been to BOND before for Drinks and noticed that several tables were 'reserved' for what appeared to be for dinner so we thought we'd check it out, however, that will likely be the last time. Cool place if you're in the area after work or if you are happening to stay at the Langham but otherwise you're not missing much.
Went to the bar in the hotel on a friday night for after dinner drinks and appetizers. The space if beautiful - - almost as nice as the oak room at the copley plaza. But the ambiance has a price. Drinks are expensive and bar menu is good but not great - and expensive too. Good for a special occasion drink - but not every day
The BOND at the Langham Hotel is a great place to gather with friends either after work or for a special occasion. It's a terrific room that originally was part of the old Federal Reserve Bank in Boston, hence the vaulted ceilings and references to US currency on the walls. What makes it a great gathering place is that, even on a busy pre-holiday Friday, it was comfortable and you didn't need to shout to make yourself heard. A bonus was the food, which was far better than standard bar/lounge fare. The lobster sliders were great!
Our server was very attentive and friendly, however we were only given a lounge menu (which we ordered off of), while the food being obviously microwaved and unfortunate. We would have liked to order dinner ala carte off of regular menus, but were not aware they existed until we overheard another table being given them.
Used to be the old Federal Reserve bank. This establishment has history and an amazing ambiance to go with it. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere I definitely recommend this establishment. It has lounge tables that are extremely comfortable to high end dining.
Luxurious French restaurant with very attentive staff and a superb menu. The room is beautiful and quiet and the ambience special (though a soundless single screen TV at one end over a bar mars the romantic effect of the room a little). This is a place for a romantic special event...in our case a wedding anniversary.
Bond exceeded our expectations. Best charcuterie platter and shrimp cocktail that I can remember. The waiter was top-notch - knowledgeable, helpful & attentive. Fun cocktail / martini options. The building used to be the federal reserve building - so it is historic, elegant and cavernous - the ceiling must be at least 30 feet high. Arched impressive bar was bustling with activity. The entrees were fantastic. Can't go wrong with the Bond steak. The Lamb special was particularillly tasty.
Having eaten at Cafe Flueri many times in the same hotel was anxious to try Bond. Unfortunately the experience was less than satisfying . After a long wait we finally placed our order. The appetizers and food all came out cold after another long wait. We had to ask twice just to get bread served. Our side was forgotten and served after we were halfway through our entrees (it was comped at least). Clearly this is more of a bar than restaurant. Definitely not worth the price.
We haven't been there since it was Julian's , which at one point was a fantastic restaurant.
The service on a Saturday night 2/7 was just horrible. The staff were in attentive and poorly trained. They poured a bottle of wine incorrectly, and too early. Forgot to give one member of our party bread. Brought a dessert without utensils. Should I go on? The restaurant wasn't crowded . It seemed like it was not the usual staff and they hadn't been trained at all . Shocking for a restaurant that is top dollar in price.
The only saving grace was the food which was decent.
Although the food was tasty the options lacked originality. We also felt the price was out of line but then again we were in the financial district. no effort shown to use local ingredients. I would not go here again. I prefer Eastern Standard or Island Creek Oyster or Sorrelina amongst others.
Walking up the steps from the front entry, we were amazed by the beautiful view facing us. The glass-backed bar and the ambiance of the lighting and fassad of the restaurant were delightful. The level of service and food quality was exceptional! We will definitely be visiting the Bond at Langham in the future to celebrate another special occassion. What a gem!
The pork chop was delicious and its accompanying vegetables a revelation. The braised Brussel sprouts and butternut squash with a pomegranate drizzle with seeds were just perfect with the pork. The banana cream dessert was another delightful surprise - quite different than expected - but wonderful.
I asked for no lobster in my soup, I checked w/the busers that it had no lobster, I was told no lobster. IT HAD LOBSTER. If I was allergic this could have been bad, but I am a vegetarian & am disgusted. Our waitress was great so we didn't penalize her w/our tip. If you have issues with making dishes suitable for vegetarians then you should include some items that don't require any changes.
This is our second time there. The building is where the old Federal Reserve Bank used to be and has a lot of the historical pieces that once belonged to it. The space sets the tone. It's elegant, comfortable, interesting and the experience is that of going back in time into a grand era. The menu is relatively simple but the food is exquisite. And so is the wine selection. The service is excellent. It is a bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. This is a place where you go if you like to dress up, have good food and enjoy a space that makes you feel like royalty. I don't think there is a price tag on that!
