It was awesome. We went for a family dinner to celebrate accomplishments at work. Our kids loved the space and we had a great time!
Food is not good and drinks are way over priced.
Service and ambiance was outstanding. I wish there were more menu options for savory food, I felt like the menu was very limited. Other than that we had a great time.
Great view and fantastic staff. Loved the trout appetizer
The Bonavista was great. The setting, the light, the food; it was all amazing. One thing that I did find that could be changed was the Chex mix. It just doesn’t seem fitting for a restaurant as nice as the Bonavista and it sort of reduced it value in taste. I would remember a French or Italian bread. Although it doesn’t go with the menu, it is much classier and I think it will be overlooked as far as it’s need to fit in with the rest of the menu. Other than that everything was fantastic and I definitely plan on making dinner reservations again as well as recommend it to friends.
We enjoy rotating and looking at all the downtown buildings (and the sunset)! The waitstaff are pleasant and helpful. But the menu and food was a disappointment. No variety of light appetizers to share. Only a huge hamburger, nothing like sliders that would be easy to eat without making a mess. The chocolate cake looked pretty but the frosting was solidified in a refrigerator!
We’ll probably go again for the view. But hope their menu improves!
Sooo much fun I posted about it a lot on my Instagram.
Perfect place to lounge and have a few drinks. It was my sons b-day and the brought a small slice of chocolate muse. Unexpected. It was very nice. My only issue was the parking attendants. Very rude. Had to snap back. Very disrespectful.
Went for 21st birthday - drinks were good and the revolving presented a continual change in scenery that was enjoyable
The view is spectacular, and definitely a cool experience. The food was tasty, and my partner enjoyed their cocktails. Clam chowder was divine!
Place was amazing refills was fast without asking super cool rotating lounge
The food and service was fantastic. Great view of LA from the 35th floor.
Visit wife on her work assignment.
Food was good. The view was awesome. I have been there several times. I enjoyed taking tourists to that place. They all like it a lot because they f the views.
Go for the view! Food service was slow but that's actually a plus so we got the chance for the full 360 rotation. We we're served chex mix instead of peanuts or chips which is good for some. The food and drinks for those prices or any price was subpar. I would return if the food and beverages improved. Next time just I'll head to LA Prime upstairs.
Wonderful views!! Easy reservation and very good service!
Great view, but overall paid $57 for 2x pieces of cake. Not worth it.
Beautiful place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.
Beautiful view. Elegant ambience. One of "must have" in LA.
Great meal and excellent service m
The best thing going for this is the view for syre....lounge needs updating ..not very comfortable old hotel vibe.... Didn't seem to match we are beyond of the hotel service was OK food was OK drinks were great
Definitely worth one time visit. Beautiful location, nice and unique ambiance, gorgeous view. However, the menu choices are very limited. None of our meals was what we expected. The grilled chicken sandwich - just a brioche bun and a piece of grilled chicken breast in there? Cheeseburger is just OK; for this kind of place and the prices we would expect something more creative. Service is friendly but SUPER slow. We were waiting about 10 min just for our server to figure out if there vanilla ice cream.
As I said - one time visit, not coming back.
This place is overrated! The food is mediocre the service is under par and it’s overpriced. There is obviously no “dress code” because everyone that came in looked like they were going to a baseball game. The only good thing about this place was the view. But, still not worth it!
Awesome rotating room...full 360 of downtown los angeles. Go at sunset
My party arrived at 7:15, which was great as the restaurant was empty. The larger groups began arriving around 8 PM. My party had the burger, steak sandwich and lobster roll, which were great. The strawberry daiquiri was sweet and refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive and the view, of course, was AMAZING. I definitely recommend catching the sunset here.
Everything was great except the elevator problem. The cocktail and the food was very good and the atmosphere and view was great. I'm going to visit there very soon, hope it would be better!
You know how they say you can tell if a place is good depending on how many people you see? Well there is a reason why this place is empty! Limited drink menu, poor wine choices and no food, not even dessert at late night. So many more happening lounges with a view in DTLA...I suggest you go to them.
Thank you Jocelyn! I appreciate your help by sitting up a special evening for my boyfriend’s birthday.
Everything is great. Just the prices.
Our server was awesome he went above and beyond to make our night awesome I would definitely come again because of him
Great place to have dates or just hangout with your friends !
This place needs a refresh. Great location, great views and so 80’s in a bad way. I was expecting to turn up in a surreal movie scene since I was taken back in time and the place was depressingly empty. It has the potential to be very cool, but would need remodeling, and an image makeover. That said the food and service were solid. The service was very professional, the food was good quality, not the best most modern cuisine, but the steak was tasty and the prices were fair.
Very disappointed w the new menus and food. It’s all seafood w limited choices. Pricing is more and the seafood combo isn’t worth its value.
Bring back the lady menu
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat before a concert. Found the environment exactly as expected. Service was very warm and prompt. Overall a great place.
They changed the menu. And it’s not as good.
Also changed the speed in the revolving restaurant and it’s too slow.
Made reservations for July 4th. Was willing to pay 60.00 minimum per person.
We get there order drinks and then our waiter disappears. After waiting over an hour and finally finding him when we try to order food we are told that they can’t take any orders as they “ran out of food” he never would have come back to our table if we didn’t look for him. we couldn’t order so we left.
Looks like a tourist trap, stay away!
Food overpriced and tiny portions. The big gimmick is that the restaurant spins, but it moves almost imperceptibly slowly, so that during our two-hour stay we only got about 3/4 around a complete turn. And the Bonaventure is hemmed in by so many taller buildings that the view is occluded most of the time. And the night we went (July 4th, 2019), the restaurant had a $60 per person minimum. Even spending that, we were still hungry after our meal, and went home for a real dinner.
Worst dinner of my life. They had a $60 per person minimum for the 4th of July and some of our meals (ex. lobster roll) we’re inedible, they were out of most items, and our food took over 2hours to arrive. We never revolved to the site of the main DTLA fireworks while they were going off. Our server avoided our table so we couldn’t complain, but all other tables around us complained and left without being charged the $60 min. It was actually laughable how bad it was. Sadly our bill was still the $60 a person and we paid it just because we wanted to get out of there as fast as humanly possible.
Must be experimenting with a new chef? new foods? because ours wasn't great, but they compensated us nicely. Miss the sliders and smaller food portions to go with last year's wonderful mango martinis and more. Still, I'd give them another try. Servers were friendly, view is great.
