Bon Vie - Columbus
Bon Vie's hardwood floors, large antique mirrors, tin ceilings and zinc topped bar make the perfect home for its moderately priced, creative cuisine. Bon Appetit!
Had a great time
The food was honestly terrible, it lacked flavor all around. I ordered the "carmelized" brussel sprouts, they were burnt and bitter, I could only take one bite. I also ordered the parmesan crusted chicken...no flavor and no color to the dish. I took 2 bites of the chicken and just knew I couldn't force it down. Our waiter didn't even address the fact that he was taking a full plate of brussel sprouts and a full plate of chicken parmesan back to the kitchen. The manger didn't address the issue either, even after a different waitress saw my plate full of food. She said I don't like people to leave unhappy, let me tell my manager...well the manager never came back to the table. I had not eaten here in 5 years, tonight I was reminded why and I will never come back. There are way better places to eat in Columbus.
Enjoyable eating outside.
Always go here when visiting Easton. The food and service are usually exceptional. This visit the food was just OK and the service adequate.
The food and service were excellent.
My family members love to get together at Bon Vie. We have had dinner and drinks there many times and always had a great time.
Very nice place! Staff was attentive and on top of the everything but once the bills was paid they disappeared! Over all the food was good but my Brussels sprouts was not cooked long enough. I enjoyed my time there over all!
The restaurant was not at all crowded which was surprising for a Friday night, but service was slow and it took forever to get our bar drinks. Iced teas and waters were slow to be refilled. Kitchen was extremely noisy with orders being called out. There were three separate incidences of dishes being dropped and broken. Definitely not a relaxing, enjoyable dinner.
Celebrated a birthday at lunch. Our server was excellent & surprised us with Birthday treats. Thanks RishonL
Potatoes very salty and steak over cooked. Server had to be asked for bread service - not offered.
We were told we couldn’t sit in the patio area. The very next couple were seated outside in the patio. When asked, the hostess made some excuse about a waiter and walked off. Service was mediocre and the food was not that good. With all the restaurants at Easton, I would consider all food options before eating here.
We had to flag someone down to take our a drink order. The chef ultimately took it. A different person (in street clothes) brought our drinks and took our order. Our total time there was over an hour - it should not have taken that long.
Food was good. Service was great!
Great time. Besides my meat loaf being burnt... it was still delicious. Great service! It could have been cleaner in the dining area but was still a great atmosphere.
We were waiting for bread 30min. Pasta was served with out spoon.
Food was good service was a little slow. Just not enough wait staff
Slow service, salad and dinner came out together, steak undercooked, broccoli under cooked and minimal attention given by server. Not what I have ever experienced at Bon Vie before. Unsure if it warrants another shot with so many options available.
The food was delicious. I tried something out of my comfort zone and was pleasantly surprised, it was delicious! Chicken and mushroom crepes in a cheese sauce. My 8yr old loved her food as well. We will definitely be coming back.
Good spot. Service kind of slow.
Food was really good but our waiter was not. It was a very busy night but he used the kitchen, which we had a front row seat for, as an excuse for not bringing our soup and salad for about 15 minutes. I saw them sitting on the counter the same time he was flirting with the hostess and until he brought them over about 5 minutes later. Our entrees came out about 5 minutes later and sat there getting cold until we were done.
He never brought us bread (except to go and I had to ask twice), left all of our dirty plates on the table until we left (including soup and salad bowls), and brought our separate checks in one billfold to “make it easy.” This was despite the fact I could see he had 3 more on him. But it did teach us patience as each of us had to wait on the other to use the single pen.
Next time we’ll be getting our food (which, again, was great) to go.
The shaved vegetable salad has a very poor description. It is a bib salad with a poor excuse of shaved vegetables and a teaspoon of farro.
Bon Vie was horrible. We arrived at 6:45 and our waiter didn’t come until 7:15. He only brought out 4 waters and we had five in our party. He only brought out a little bit of bread. We ordered salads and our dinner, but our salads arrived at 7:40 and we had another reservation at 8:00. We told the waiter we were leaving and he responded with, “What’s up miss?”. We will never return to this restaurant.
Never been here before but wanted to try something new. Liked the menu and decent prices. The service wasn’t slow but the server seemed like he’d rather be somewhere else.
Haven’t been to Bon Vie in while and won’t be going back. Horrible service, terrible bar service, and completely underwhelmed with the food. This was a birthday dinner (6 in our party) and I indicated such on the open table reservation. Waiter had the personality of a rock. Never smiled, never engaged with us. Even when I mentioned my (imaginary) birthday tiara, he just looked at me, barely smiled, and said nothing.
The $7.95 gin gimlets had ZERO alcohol in them, so we purchased separately 4 shots of gin to make them an cocktail. Ordered 2 Blue Moon beers, the first had an orange (which was actually yellow) and the second did not have an orange slice.
Ordered 3 appetizers. The brie fondue was okay but the croutons for dipping were so stale they were inedible. One ordered the Smoked Tomato & Vegetable Pasta - it was all pasta, almost no sauce/bone dry, and very few veges. It was tasteless. Two of us ordered the Sacchetti Carbonara (one dish had approx. 50% more quantity in it than the other). Two of us ordered Roquefort crusted filet (one medium rare and one medium well). They gave the steaks to the wrong person, so we kindly asked for the med well steak to be remade @ medium rare. It arrived at the table 30 minutes later and was rare. An EXTREMELY disappointing experience for the $230 tab (before tip). Spend your hard-earned money and definitely celebrate special occasions elsewhere.
Food and service were excellent, I had the shrimp and filet and both were wonderful. Great kids menu as well, we’ll be back!
The service was very slow all around. The food was just ok, but the Crispy nut salad
My wife and I had never been before and decided to try it out. The server was nice enough, but there was a very long wait between each visit. This would normally make sense for a Saturday night if the place was very busy, but it was around 20 % full. It didn't bother us too badly because we were enjoying our time away from the kids.
I ordered a steak, medium-rare. The server confirmed twice (once as I ordered, and again before leaving the table). I thought that was great, and we continued our evening. Once the food finally arrived we were really hungry. I'm not sure how long the food took to get to our table, but we were trying to find our server to make sure the order was still on its way.
My steak was well-done. The rest of the food was OK, but I had to eat some of the steak. Eventually the server came to check on us and I showed him what happened. He did take the steak off the bill and offered free dessert, but we weren't really in the mood to extend our stay.
Tried is once, and once was enough.
Food was very good - service - below average
The wait staff could use some serious polishing and better knowledge of the menu.
Waiter was not pleasant and food was mediocre. Waiter started the interaction by throughing the plates onto the table. Food was over cooked. Was not expecting such a terrible experience from Bon Vie.
I made reservations, three weeks ago, for five ladies shopping trip to Easton Columbus Ohio.
Arrived at the restaurant promptly at 7 PM was escorted to a table in the bar area, all salad plates on the table were dirty with breadcrumbs still on them stacked with clean silverware!
15 minutes passed by, not one person said hello, no water, no drink order, etc.
I went back to the hostess and ask if we could be moved to the central dining area and possibly have waitstaff visit us.
She apologize said she would be right back with us .10 minutes past she never returned and we left and will not be back!
I’m sure we were not missed at all, because we were truly invisible..
Place was good and food too. It can still be improved by keeping the place clean and serving clean dishes.
Bon Vie is a cute restaurant that sits right beside the fountains @ Easton Town Center. From walking in, to being served, all the way through walking out, the service was just blah. Nothing to note as being exceptional. I don't even think anyone ever even smiled and welcomed us. The menu really lacked luster as well. The variety is quite small and a little pricey for what's offered. Overall, the food was actually really good. Definitely the best part of the entire experience. My husband ordered fish and chips , I ordered the salmon salad and my daughter ordered the chicken Mac n cheese. Although this wasn't the worst dining experience, it definitely wasn't the best. We probably won't be returning and (considering how many other great restaurants there are in the area), probably couldn't recommend. We did enjoy sitting at the fountains after dinner , while waiting on our movie to start.
They kept leaving the door to the patio open. The temps on Friday were way to humid for that. Had to ask over and over to get it closed. Yet so many employees walked by and didn’t seem to care
Has definitely gone down since coming here 2 years ago
We can in for restaurant week. The food was good but have had better times before. The server was friendly but was slow with the food and coming back to the table. As much as we always liked coming to the restaurant it just wasn’t the same
Bon Vie was perfect for our sisters' lunch. Service was amazing! The crowd was sparse probably due to the extreme heat so it was relatively quiet. My sister had a wonderful chicken alfredo with creamy whipped ricotta stuffed pastas. It was divine! I had a Bon Vie salad that came without dressing but the waitress was quick to bring some. My grilled salmon on farrow with beets and almonds was perfection! We shared a dessert of three light cream puffs filled with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was a perfect meal and the ambiance was relaxing. We enjoyed the food as much as the conversation!
I have eaten at Bon Vie many times in the past. I suggested this restaurant for a company dinner. The whole experience was embarrassing. After our final guest arrived it took 15 minutes just to get the waiter to take a drink order and that was 5 minutes after I had to get up from the table and ask him to please come get our drink order (the restaurant was not even half full and our waiter had 3 tables). I asked for an iced tea during our meal and it was delivered as we were paying the bill.
Our waiter was a little off....he didn’t seem to know how to wait tables....drinks were good...the food was mediocre.....
Our waiter was excellent and very kind
